Beyond the quality debate, we can’t ask for luxury ingredients, however it’s a worthy fragrance compared to DHI. Lasts 6-8 hours with moderate sillage. I’d buy it over and over again knowing what it’s worth, totally recommended for those who like iris and the DNA of the great Dior Homme line.
Absolutely a worthy clone! With iris as the protagonist it has that makeup smell and doesn’t evolve much. This smells like iris all the time while Dior Homme Intense ends up smelling like wood.
The first time I opened it and smelled it, I disliked it! I didn’t know the iris note and it reminded me of those 80s-90s fruit-shaped lipsticks that smelled like when I was a kid, and I said I made a mistake buying it. Today, after 5 months, having used it and heard it so many times and that it has its oxidation, I must say I love it. Compared to DHI and in its dry down nothing to envy for the price/quality. It lasts about 10 hours on my skin (fortunately I have good pH and fixation, as they last a long time). I tested it at the office and got compliments I never expected.
I love it! It’s a well-executed clone of Dior Homme Intense. Obviously Dior’s is superior, but for 15 to 20 thousand Chilean pesos I couldn’t ask for more. For me, it’s for autumn/winter or for formal and important night outs.
Yeah, it’s very similar, I’d say between 80% and 85% of Dior. A trained nose will easily spot the differences, but for the rest of mortals, they’ll probably think it’s the same. It lasts 7 or 8 hours on my skin. That said, I recommend smelling it before buying; just like Homme Intense, the iris and lavender might not please everyone, at my expense something that helps understand these accords. Extremely recommended perfume, now very elegant.
After a year of maceration, I say it’s 10 minutes of a powerful, magical, and ecstatic iris burst, but that’s it, 10 minutes; then that magic dies and it retreats to the skin until it disappears by the hour.
Clone of clones. Very well made, balanced, great recreation of the iris and performance matching an EDP. The price-to-quality ratio is one of the best you can find on the market.
You can tell it’s not the same, like if you pin it or if you pat it, but what do you expect? Dark Door is just over 20€… if you couldn’t tell the difference from the original which costs 80€ more, we’d look like idiots. Anyway, Dark Door Intense is a gem, and outdoors almost no one notices the lack of Dior quality, I ended up looking like an idiot, look, it doesn’t have Dior’s level, but illo…telita.
As said before, use it once and stash it for two days, it improves a lot. Smells like women’s makeup (lipsticks and foundations), chocolate, and lavender, a delicate fragrance, probably feminine for some tastes. For me, it’s the favorite.
What a crazy perfume! Extremely addictive aroma, chocolatey with iris, one of the best in my collection. It smells a bit less intense than Dior, making it easier for others to like it. For me, it’s a blind buy due to the price and quality. Highly recommended.
So rich! It captures that creamy touch of the original perfectly. It has everything: iris, cocoa, and pear (though the cocoa is a bit softer than in Dior). It’s true it doesn’t last long, about 4-5 hours, but neither does the original. I love it! Some might say it’s for winter, but I wear it in the dead of summer and it looks luxurious, like I’m wearing an expensive bronzer. *Don’t buy blindly*, smell it first. 10/10
Total disappointment. After Dior Homme Intense was reformulated and so many YouTubers recommended it as the best dupe, I decided to try it. At first, it smells like pure alcohol, nothing like Dior, no trace of iris. After 30-45 minutes, the alcohol fades and it starts to resemble Dior a bit, but it has zero projection. The projection is terrible once the alcohol is gone. It lasts 4-5 hours, but only as a skin scent. The first two hours smell similar to Dior, but afterward, it gets more chocolatey. Conclusion: put it on an hour before leaving so you don’t smell like alcohol, and keep in mind it won’t project at all. For the 35€ I paid… I wouldn’t pay more than 15€.
At first, it smells like wood, but once it dries, it leaves a chocolatey scent. It feels like you need to let it macerate to see if it becomes more intense.
The opening is pure feminine lipstick, then it fades away, losing its strength. By 374 hours, it’s skin scent only. Not worth it.
Incredible value for money. It doesn’t feel like DHI to me. It sits between the Original and Intense, but with a dried-down scent like chocolate-covered orange. It could easily be a flanker for the line.
Why do men love this iris DNA? I don’t know a single woman who likes it, and I can’t think of a man who hasn’t taken a second look. It’s fascinating.
What a disappointment. Anyone recommending this as an alternative to Dior Homme Intense should go to jail for olfactory crimes. I bought it out of curiosity and for the price, but it was a mistake. It smells synthetic, harsh, and chemical from the first spray. Instead of creamy elegance, it’s rancid and dusty, like cheap foot powder. It doesn’t improve with time; it just becomes unbearable. A total disaster. I’d rather wash my clothes than leave this smell on. Rating: 1/10. Smells like dusty synthetic iris. Reminds me of an 80-year-old man in a closet. I would never use this.
I bought it because they said it smelled like Dior Homme. I regret it. It smells like women’s lipstick. It feels like something a woman in a purple suit with a short haircut would wear. In my opinion, it’s more feminine than masculine. If you like citrus or fresh scents, you probably won’t like it. It gives me a headache.
Current batches are a total letdown, smelling like cheap department store cologne. I don’t get the YouTubers’ hype; they just seem to want commissions for selling smoke. To me, they’re just air fresheners, nothing more.
2024 Batch: Smells like strong deodorant. You have to spray it like a firehose for it to even count, and it fades within an hour.
It’s really good. I tried the original DHI, and it’s different. The original has more lavender, the iris is more present and less powdery, and it’s rich. This one is sweeter, likely has an undeclared chocolate or cocoa note, and doesn’t last as long; I also detect a honey scent that I don’t feel in the original. Mine was one of the first batches. My girlfriend loves it. Stop crying: for 8% of the price of the 100ml original, it’s more than worth it, and you can reapply without worry. Let it macerate for 6 months. It’s 80% similar. The atomizer is terrible.
To sum up regarding the scent, it smells exactly like lipstick. Lavender and pear are barely noticeable; the woody and iris notes dominate. It’s a good perfume if you like the original Dior; personally, it doesn’t overwhelm me, but it’s rich.
Maison Alhambra doesn’t play games with creativity. Here, there’s no inspiration, just a copy, and with Dark Door Intense, the intent was clear: Dior Homme Intense, but at a much more reasonable price. Is the iris not identical? Of course not. But it gets pretty close to that powdery, almost lipstick-like iris that made Dior famous. In fact, instead of evolving into wood like the original, here the iris stays with you from start to finish, with a linearity some will criticize and others will appreciate. The cocoa is more subtle, and the projection might seem moderate at first, but a few weeks of airing it out will add body. For the price, those differences are easily forgiven. Their job wasn’t to reinvent anything, but to replicate an iconic scent for those who don’t want to mortgage their paycheck. They did it. If you like Dior Homme Intense, this is a more than valid alternative. If you don’t… well, then the problem isn’t Dark Door.
I’ll share my take as someone with 15 years in the perfume world who loves iris. Dark Door Intense is similar to DHI but not identical. For me, it’s better: creamier, better evolution, less linear, and drier with more wood. I’ve tried many clones, and this isn’t just a copy; it’s an upgrade. As they say, it doesn’t last long (2-3 hours), but neither does the original, which costs six times more. I’m giving you a chance to spend €20 and try it; you won’t regret it. Don’t expect a beast mode, but do expect a unique experience.
No beating around the bush: Maison Alhambra usually misses the mark on clones, but this one nails it. There’s no room for doubt when you’re trading $120 for $15 with similar results. Excellent for daily office wear or semi-formal situations. Recommended for ages 25+ and in cool weather or below 65°F.
I bought it blind and was blown away. I own the original DHI and the similarity is impressive to me. Its only flaw is longevity; in my case, riding a motorcycle in the heat, it lasted about 3 hours and was still noticeable. I’ll have to test it under other conditions. Honestly, surprised—the price difference with the original is what really shocks you. If you like DHI, you’ll definitely love this. I recommend buying it 100%. 7/10.
I’m not an expert on perfumes, I have about 30 but none are niche. Still, to my novice nose, the iris comes off strong. It’s not bad, but it’s not my taste. I’m sticking with Dark Door Sport. It’s just a matter of preference; it’s a good fragrance for the price.
As they say, iris and talcum powder. It’s a good perfume but lacks projection and sillage. You have to reapply every hour.
Dior fragrances, and especially their copies which tend to be more intense with that ‘projecting far’ trend, aren’t for everyone. They don’t work for every climate, day, age, or outfit. I bought it based on good reviews but sold it for the same reason: at my age, I struggle to find the right moment to smell so much iris. That said, the original Dior is superior. But for the price of this imitation, it does its job quite well.
@ivanperfumista thinks he threw away a good triple. This fragrance doesn’t leave anyone indifferent: on my skin it lasts perfectly 6 hours without reapplication. That idea of spraying more than 20 times is something I’d love to see. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a quality-to-price beast. Of course, if you compare it to Dior at its best, it has to lose, but it has nothing to envy. I’ll swap bottles and tell you it’s a steal. It’s indispensable in any collection. It might cost as much as a Burger King dinner. Preferences are clear. Note: 7.5/10.
Here’s my second take on Dark Door Intense. Just a heads-up: the battery life is short. I sprayed almost 20 times yesterday for work, and it still faded after just 5 hours. The scent is beautiful, but it’s very reserved with no sillage. If you want to enjoy it, be prepared to reapply.
I couldn’t disagree more with Iván Perfumista; that’s the point because experiences are subjective. Dark Door Intense smells incredible, a rich talc-like iris. Watch out, it’s not for everyone; you must like iris, try it before buying, don’t buy it blindly. In my case, I love this style. Good longevity of 6 hours, very potent, then it gets closer to the chocolatey side until hour 10, and then more subtle. Incredible longevity and spectacular scent. I bought it for 16 dollars, a ridiculous price for what it offers. Today was my perfume of the day, what a treat; I love this beast, when it runs out I’ll buy it again, no question.
It surprised me from the very first test. The scent is exquisite and the performance isn’t bad compared to designer perfumes. I’ll wait to see if it improves. If you like this DNA, buy it without hesitation; you won’t regret it. At the 16€ I paid, it takes the crown for quality-to-price against expensive fragrances like Dior’s. A 10 for this Dark Door Intense from Maison Alhambra. Edit: I bought a bottle of Dior Homme Intense 2020, and at first the Dark one seemed lower quality, but after 10-15 minutes, it’s hard to find differences. Crazy.
It smells like women’s lipstick with a hint of cocoa. The iris is out of control and has nothing masculine about it.
I’ve never tried the Dior Homme DNA, and luckily I bought a decant. It’s not a scent that fully convinces me; the iris overpowers everything and smells like prominent feminine makeup, which I don’t like. I’m still testing it and will see how it develops, but it’s not my style.
I was pleasantly surprised. If you love the Dior Homme DNA, this perfume won’t leave you indifferent. Today it’s more cost-effective than current batches of Dior Homme Intense, especially after their reformulation which lost performance. I’ve always been more of a Dior Homme Parfum person, but this Dark Door Intense from Maison Alhambra is a different story. Its price is accessible and the scent is surprisingly close, I’d say over 90%. It’s worth it: the scent is exquisite and elegant with that characteristic iris. The longevity is acceptable; in fact, on my skin it performs better than the reformulated original while being four times cheaper. Totally recommended if you want the Dior style without spending a fortune.
I admit I was very surprised by the resemblance to Dior Homme Intense; I didn’t expect so much, and for around 15€ in Spain, it’s a steal. As a Dior fan, I’d say it’s a well-done job, it smells high-quality, though it doesn’t quite reach the original’s level. The performance is good, about 6-7 hours. If you like this DNA and want something usable for daily life without it hurting your wallet, take a look.
It imitates what it imitates very well; it’s a kind and easy-to-wear perfume. Maybe it calls for a bit of elegance, but you don’t need a suit to wear it. I think it lasts about 6 hours, projects a lot in your personal bubble, and conveys a sense of calm. It’s perfect, well-rounded, and makes you happy.
While the opening is very similar to Dior’s, the drydown changes completely and smells like a well-groomed adult woman; I preferred to give it to my mom, and she loves it. I’ll stick with my more expensive and delicious Dior, whose drydown is sublime.
Before buying it, I tested the Dior Homme Intense 2025, and let me tell you, this Dark Door clone beats it, though it leans closer to the original 2011 version. The thing is, that iris isn’t for everyone, so don’t buy it blindly. At first, it smells like synthetic lipstick, but once it dries down, it becomes elegant and clean. The trail is short and lasts about 3 hours, though it depends on your skin’s pH. For the price, it’s great; I’ll save it for special occasions. Rating: 7/10. Edit: After two weeks of maceration, the lipstick note is gone, it lasts 8-10 hours, and it lingers on clothes for days. What a beauty and elegance! Totally recommended.
