I own both this and L’Emperatrice 3 and can’t find much difference, though this one is less spicy and herbal since it supposedly doesn’t contain rhubarb—I still detect it, just less so. I like both, but I regret buying this one; I was looking for something a bit more different, and they feel almost identical.
Ordered it online expecting the original, but this edition arrived instead. I like it; it smells like red berries and shampoo for summer days. It’s great, plus the bottle looks really cute.
Bought it today just out of curiosity since I love L’ Imperatrice 3 and reviews said it’s very similar… and yeah, it’s almost identical. This scent is a bit more linear, just watermelon and strawberry. It’s less spicy and less aquatic than the L’ Imperatrice 3. I wouldn’t buy it again because I’ll stick with the original version, which is much fresher and more aquatic.
L’Imperatrice is the survivor of the Tarot-based Anthology collection, which completely sank; the old one with the number three on the label is one of my favorites, based mainly on red fruits, primarily melon, accented by the juiciest, reddest part of rhubarb and with a touch of fruity acidity from kiwi that, mixed with the former, reminds me many times of a ripe, red guava, all over a musky base with aquatic accords. In 2020 they launched a limited edition (which I haven’t tried) that came in a pink box and removed the number 3 from the label; currently, the bottle without the number 3, without the limited edition engraving on the glass, is still sold, back in its simple white box. This fragrance undoubtedly has a popular appeal; I even know many men who enjoy its scent. The current L’Imperatrice removes the number 3 but keeps its elegant, monolithic, translucent bottle crowned with a black cap. This new version feels more linear, although the previous and current ones smell almost 80% identical; the watermelon remains its absolute protagonist, sweet, red, and juicy, accompanied by a sparkling strawberry and red berries that, along with that acidic fruity juice from rhubarb and kiwi, maintain that ripe guava vibe. I must admit that here the scent feels a bit intense just when sniffing the atomizer, but this is mainly in the top notes; afterwards, they remain practically the same, even in performance. I assume they kept the floral base of the limited edition, although really no floral note comes to mind, as this fragrance stays quite linear and, like the original from 2009, is basically a smoothie of melon, kiwi, red berries, and rhubarb over a musky base. I think despite everything I prefer the old one with the number 3 because it feels more aquatic, fresh, and slightly vegetal, and it doesn’t clash as much on a man, although honestly this never worried me since I don’t see gender in fragrances.
L’Imperatrice is the sole survivor of the Tarot collection that went down; the old one with the 3 on the label is my favorite—a mix of red fruits where the melon shines, juicy and red thanks to the rhubarb, with an acidic kiwi touch reminiscent of a ripe guava, all over a musky, aquatic base. In 2020, a limited edition came out in a pink box without the number 3, but now the unengraved bottle sells in a simple white box. This fragrance has broad appeal; even many men enjoy it. The new version dropped the 3 but keeps the elegant, monolithic bottle with a black cap. It smells more linear, though the old and new versions are about 80% identical. The sweet, red, juicy melon remains the star, accompanied by sparkling strawberry and red berries that keep that guava vibe alive with the rhubarb and kiwi. I admit that sniffing the atomizer feels a bit intense, but only on the initial spray; afterwards, it stays consistent. I assume they kept the floral base from the limited edition, though no specific flower comes to mind since it’s basically a smoothie of melon, kiwi, berries, and rhubarb over a musky backdrop. Despite everything, I prefer the old one with the 3 because it feels more watery, fresh, and vegetal, and doesn’t clash as much on a man, although honestly, I’ve never cared about gender in fragrance.
Sweet, citrusy, fresh, delicious, addictive.
This is another blind buy that smells juicy and fresh. It’s a very nice fragrance, quite fresh, fruity, and aquatic. Perfect for summer, ideal for everyday wear or a casual outing. Its star is watermelon, at least for me; I never stop smelling it. The watermelon note makes me feel like I’m at the beach, very refreshing. You can also detect a bit of strawberry, and over time you start smelling the florals, the woody notes, and very little incense. Personally, its longevity is decent for an EDT, especially in my area where the heat is intense. It easily lasts 6 hours; of course, it depends on skin chemistry, but I don’t mind since it can be reapplied.
At first, I smelled liquor or fermentation, as if the fruits were overly ripe and about to spoil, sweetly. But once I started wearing it properly, that sensation faded, and now I especially feel the fruit sweetness—that strange blend of strawberry and watermelon. Aside from that, the floral background and the musk… the smoke? I can’t distinguish it. It’s one of my favorite fresh fruity scents, especially for summer. It lasts about 6 to 7 hours with more than 10 sprays. It’s an EDT.

It’s a warm, youthful, citrusy scent… Too bad that, while all the notes fit perfectly and bring pleasure, those smoky woody florals are exquisite but the watermelon note bothers me and prevents me from enjoying this work of art. It’s a pity, but I just can’t handle it. It has great sillage and longevity. If you like that note, don’t hesitate; it’s a beautiful fragrance.
As a good fan of the brand’s fragrances, I acquired this edition. Having used the original of which I have a lovely memory, I wanted to reminisce about that quite successful perfume. This Empress is lighter, quite fruity with a mix of soft acidity amidst pink floral notes. It could easily belong to the Fruit Collection as a fruit cocktail. Rather than an Empress imposing her power and seduction, she’s on vacation, very comfortable, and enjoying the good life in a worry-free summer. It’s a pity to have overlooked the jasmine, which initially gave it sophistication and charm. From the series, the best for me were The Fool 3: The Empress (original) and The Fool 18: The Moon. Total masterpieces with the enigma of a defining move.
If you’re itching to buy this baby but don’t have the money to spend a fortune like I did, I recommend you buy a dupe. I swear it smells the same; it’s like the original but cheaper. Don’t be an idiot like me, who bought it expensive and then bought the cheap version from another brand called Fragrance Kiwi Ocean. Compare them; it’s worth a third of what the Dolce costs, only that the Dolce smells a bit more delicate. If you like it, you’ve had your fun. Compare them; I now have both and don’t even use them. But I know you’ll buy it anyway based on my comment. Use it in the heat, and if it smells like kiwi and watermelon, that mother makes you feel like you’re at the beach. It lasts the whole damn day. I recommend it 10/8.
If you’re dying to buy this but can’t afford it like I did, I recommend grabbing a dupe. I swear it smells the same. It’s basically the same thing but cheaper. Don’t be a fool like me and buy the expensive version only to later buy the cheap one from another brand called Fragrance Kiwi Ocean. Get that one; it’s worth a third of what the Dolce costs. The Dolce just smells a tiny bit more delicate, but if you like it, you’re good. Buy the dupe—I have both now and don’t even use them. I know you’ll ignore my advice and buy it anyway. Wear it in the heat; if it smells like kiwi and watermelon, it’ll make you feel like you’re at the beach. It lasts all damn day. I recommend it 10/8.
The opening is super fresh and you can feel the watermelon, but after 10 minutes of drying down, the peony feels very strong. It doesn’t smell like a delicate peony, but rather like a room freshener peony.
I picked this up last year when it relaunched and let it sit until today, September 21, 2023. When I used it again, it smelled like sweet, soft garlic—actually garlic! I don’t detect any smoke. Does anyone else experience this?
I bought it last year when it was relaunched (I think around the end of the year, I’m not sure). I used it a bit and let it rest until now, September 21, 2023, and it has a slight sweet garlic and soft aroma, but garlic! I don’t smell the smoke note. Has this happened to anyone else?
It’s the perfect perfume for anyone who gets tired of intense fruity scents quickly. It balances fruit with florals and woods perfectly. It’s sophisticated and delicate, noticeable without being overpowering, smelling of refinement. People always ask me what I’m wearing because it stands out from current commercial fragrances. I recommend it for day or afternoon due to that light and fresh feeling. It suits any age, making you feel young and radiant.
It’s the ideal fragrance for those of us who get easily cloyed by intense fruit notes. Its fruity notes are in perfect balance with florals and woods. It’s sophisticated, delicate, doesn’t go unnoticed, and smells of refinement. People never stop asking what fragrance I’m wearing because it stands out from the current commercial universe. I recommend it for day/afternoon, as it conveys a sense of lightness and freshness. It doesn’t matter your age; it will make you feel young and radiant at every moment.
I love it; it was a blind buy. I wanted it for its fruity notes, especially the delicious watermelon and peonies for this season of infernal heat. It has great longevity; I move around and still smell it completely on me, on my clothes, and in the environment. I definitely love it; it’s delicious and I enjoy it a lot. Without a doubt, I will buy it again.
This edition could pass as a niche summer fragrance. It’s rare, unconventional, ozonic, and fruity. The watermelon doesn’t feel synthetic like in most perfumes with that note, and the opening is green due to rhubarb, even though it’s not listed in the notes. The flower that predominates on my skin is Persian violet, which I love combined with the other notes. It dries down sweet and soft, floral, and musky. It’s addictive and a beautiful perfume. Applause to the perfumer, and please don’t discontinue this masterpiece.
I like it when it dries down because it becomes sweet, elegant, and floral, but I hate its opening which smells like watermelon; as soon as I apply it, it smells like cheap perfume. That changes after drying down; after 10 minutes, it’s great.
It smells like Fructis shampoo. I like it, but it’s better for informal occasions and summer.
I gifted this to my wife, and she loved it on the first spray; the scent is so rich and elegant that I ended up trying it on my own neck. It’s definitely the fragrance that has brought me the most compliments from girls. For me, it’s unisex, fresh, unique, elegant, and suitable for any occasion, especially in hot weather.
I love it. Smells clean, fruity, and floral, very feminine. I love wearing it to work because it has such a clean scent.
I’m not a fan of this type of fruity perfume, but I have to admit I quite like L’imperatrice. I bought it because it was on a super deal in the free shop and used it for a summer vacation (definitely for warm climates). It’s fresh, sweet, and addictive, though I have to spray it a lot because I feel it doesn’t last long, plus it’s quite soft.
Is it an EDT? But wow, it lasts way longer than an EDP or Parfum. It’s a very sweet, feminine, and long-lasting fragrance. You can tell the quality of the ingredients. The strawberry and watermelon last quite a bit. The flowers are noticeable but subtle. Ideal for school or work, to get compliments.
This perfume is the description of happiness. If they could bottle it, this beauty would definitely be it. It’s incredible; it transports me to a hot day walking through the streets of some Mediterranean city. It’s sweet yet fresh, and for an EDT, its longevity and projection are beastly on my skin. When I finish it, I’ll buy it again.
Reminded me of the Fa Watermelon deodorant I bought and didn’t like. That aquatic watermelon and strawberry combo persists and just doesn’t work for me. Honestly, it smells cheap and unrefined, though I don’t hate it. If I wanted aquatic fruits, I’d prefer an Escada like Sorbetto Rosso a thousand times over. But tastes vary.
It reminded me of the Fa Watermelon deodorant I tried and didn’t like. That watery mix of watermelon and strawberry persists, and overall, it doesn’t convince me. Honestly, it smells cheap and unfinished, though I don’t hate it. If I’m looking for something fruity and aquatic, I’d a thousand times prefer an Escada like Sorbetto Rosso. But I suppose it’s all about taste.
Such a beautiful watermelon. It’s a fresh floral-fruity scent with an aquatic watermelon vibe, clean smelling, like a pretty girl. It feels so well-balanced and is fantastic for spring and summer, to attract attention but in a subtle way. I recommend it 1000%.
A very balanced perfume; smells like watermelon and strawberries without being cloying thanks to the woody notes. The only downside is the longevity isn’t what you’d expect, it’s almost like a splash. But it’s a delicious aroma.
I bought it blind. Like many, I like to take a risk and be surprised. The strawberry note excited me, but on my skin, watermelon takes over, as if it conquered the whole scent. It lasts about 2 hours on me, and I’m grateful it doesn’t last longer if I’ve had wine.
At 34 degrees, this is the perfume you need to feel fresh sipping a Sprite under the sun; it’s not overpowering, very fruity with a watermelon and strawberry finish, like a smoothie with ice. It will be one of my summer staples. I’ve had it for years and didn’t like it before because it tasted sour, probably due to the rhubarb, just like with Mugler’s Aura. But now it’s a ripe, sweet, juicy watermelon.
Smells like watermelon with a touch of pear. Nothing complicated, just pure fruit for those scorching hot days.
