  • I’ve tested this modern, aquatic, and summery scent for several days, and it’s quite catchy. The opening is light, very aquatic, and barely spicy, but soon that combo of tonka and almond appears, reminiscent of the first L’Homme Ideal, while the neroli balances the composition, keeping the tonka in check and reaffirming its masculinity. A very refreshed patchouli starts to emerge, ending up having a lot of protagonism when it dries. The vetiver and spices contribute their point without standing out clearly. Again, a semi-formal sport flanker that maintains the essence of its older brother. I also like that gourmand accord but not too sweet, with that balanced, masculine, and elegant almond. That distinguishes this perfume from other fresh aquatic ones, plus it dispenses with ambroxan, ambergris, marine notes, calone… (and even citrus). It doesn’t perform badly, I’d say average, and it has very good fixation. Today I wore a little, but after a swim in the pool, it was still there, clearly revived. It has been liked a lot, and several people have told me it smelled great. This summer, aquatic patchouli is what’s in: Guerlain, Bvlgari, Cool Water… personally, this is the one I liked the most. Recommended. 7.5/10. P.S.- I didn’t know if the one in the ad was Kortajarena or Cara Delevingne in drag, haha.

After trying many fresh fragrances for spring or summer, this one is in the top of exquisite ones. It has an addictive aroma. It’s not one of the best in longevity, but wearing it gives you such a pleasant sensation that it makes you smile. I feel it very citrusy, with bitter orange. I can’t appreciate the almond. The bottle is a work of art, classic and beautiful. Above all, I find it very original without any similarities so far. I give it a 7.5; it would be an 8 if it were more long-lasting and had a greater trail. But honestly, I tried it and fell in love. Thumbs up.

  • L’Homme Ideal Sport is a fruity, aquatic, and woody fragrance that’s super easy to wear because it doesn’t complicate anything. It starts fresh and fruity, with some citrus notes, maybe neroli, and that almond note which is the signature of the whole line. It evolves very little; by the end, it just feels more woody without losing the almond. It’s the most casual and youthful version in the family, while the others seem better suited for more formal and mature people. Out of the four versions, it’s the least interesting and most generic; it brings back memories of other scents, and sometimes I think it smells like X or Y. That said, the blue bottle looks gorgeous. In my test, it lasted about 8 hours with low projection. Overall, it’s not bad, though not essential.

  • L’Homme Ideal Sport is fruity, aquatic, and woody, easy to accept because it doesn’t offer complexity. Aquatic and fruity opening; I perceive citrus, perhaps neroli, and the constant note of almond. It doesn’t change much in evolution, except that when it dries, it feels more woody without the almond disappearing. It’s the most casual and youthful version of the line; I felt the others were for more formal and mature groups. Of the four versions, it seems the least interesting and most generic. It brings me memories of other fragrances, and sometimes I even think it smells like X or Y. The bottle looks nice with that blue. In my test, it lasted about 8 hours, a little more, and the projection is low. Overall, it wasn’t bad, though not essential.

  • From the start of L’HOMME IDEAL SPORT, quality is noticeable. Perhaps Guerlain, like Chanel or Dior, is no longer the designer of old, but those who had it, still have it. It’s sporty, citrusy, fresh, aquatic, and everything that can be linked to summer, sea, and sun. It has a Mediterranean air thanks to the almond, neroli, and coumarin. Blue beaches, sun, and light. The almond is sweet, not bitter like in AQVA AMARA by Bvlgari, nor as prominent. It feels shy and discreet, like many Guerlain products. They don’t like intrusives or those who linger; they work on exquisiteness and aura. The neroli adds freshness, air, and citrus sweetness. The coumarin, a plant metabolite, gives tones of cut grass, almond, or spices; here I think it’s a mix, with the herbaceous notes predominating. Overall tone: fresh, citrusy, herbaceous, and a little spicy. High quality. I haven’t found a cheap Guerlain. It happens the same with Chanel or Dior. You may like or dislike their latest launches, but that touch of distinction in the packaging is always there. Probably the same with ROJA, AMOUAGE, CREED, CHRISTIAN, MONA DI ORIO, and niche houses, but I, wretched me!, due to budget issues, haven’t been able to buy, except for samples or sneak tests without the lady on duty giving me a hard time. The world is like that, and almost always there are ladies in perfumeries; gender equality hasn’t arrived except in rare occasions. Has anyone seen a gentleman in the Chanel, Lauder, or Dior stand at El Corte Inglés? The drydown is closer to herbaceous vetiver, much more vetiver than the one in VETIVER by Guerlain. I even think there’s a ‘guerlinade,’ that mythical touch of tonka bean, which wraps it with a French dressing room tone and chic. Moderate trail, medium longevity, high quality, and exquisite aroma. Anyone from grandparents to babies can use it. It’s 100% unisex and suits any season. Elegant, discreet, and clean.

  • Very interesting, friends. It fulfills its sport premise: simple, pleasant, non-intrusive, elegant, and well-made (according to my humble nose). Opening with clear, softened pepper, classic hazelnuts, and a fresh, soapy, mentholated base. The cheerful touches come from the heart of bergamot and spices, drying down with patchouli, vetiver, and refined coumarin. It’s IDEAL for outdoors or standing out; in my opinion, it needs to be overapplied, but that would lose its fresh essence. It has the IDEAL DNA: fresh, smooth, and spicy. It’s the only one in the line with patchouli. Great effect. I like the bottle and the color, they’re gorgeous.

  • Very interesting, friends… It fulfills its sport premise: simple, pleasant, non-intrusive, elegant, and well-made (according to my humble nose). The opening is clear pepper, those from the spice rack but softened by the classic hazelnuts of the line and a fresh, soapy, mentholated, and aquatic base. The citrus or cheerful touches come from its heart of neroli and spices, and it dries down softly with the great patchouli, vetiver, and the refinement of coumarin. It’s IDEAL for outdoor activities or if you want to stand out; in my opinion, you have to overapply, but you’d lose its fresh and soft essence. It has the IDEAL DNA, but fresh, smooth, citrusy, and spiced. OF the line, it’s the only one containing patchouli, a huge plus. I like its bottle and color, they’re gorgeous.

  • It fulfills its objective: being pleasant for sports activities, nothing more. It’s an aquatic patchouli, somewhat generic, with simple pretensions. I notice a vetiver note that doesn’t quite fit the harmony, but the spices give it a younger touch. Sillage and projection are soft on my skin; I bought this this summer and it never had any sillage, despite the heat. I prefer the Issey Miyake version in the Sport line. It’s a simple fragrance for personal enjoyment. I expected more complexity since it’s from Guerlain, but this house lately doesn’t take risks and presents unoriginal fragrances. You have to pat it on the back to get it to surprise again like it used to.

  • It sounds familiar. Short longevity and weak projection, what a pity! Do I love it? Yes, a lot. It’s fresh, youthful, and pleasant, with that touch from the line I like more than the overrated Cologne. Is asking for 6 hours of longevity too much? Projection and longevity should be requirements, not privileges. Guerlain scents are original but almost all fail in longevity, earning a bad reputation.

  • BassoProfumo

To me, it smells like Guerlain’s ‘Sauvage’ version. The downside is it clings too much to the skin and lacks body. If it had better projection, I’d rank it above Dior, as the scent is more sophisticated and has the ideal DNA for the entire line.

  • Zezecalderon

Finally got to try it to full effect today; I loved the scent. As they said around here, it’s the blue fragrance option from the house, very, very, very similar to Coach for Man but more subtle. It smells extremely clean; it’s not a sharp perfume but rather a creamy, soapy, almond scent. I think it’s a good option for a casual seducer, a good option, but I believe you have to abuse the blast factor.

  • Almonds, Neroli, Fresh, Clean, slightly sweet, seductive. I tested it as its name suggests in sports spaces and must say it works wonderfully. What an interesting proposal; it’s very rich, fresh with a body from the almond that’s super pleasant and gives a great image for daily life. You’re training or doing your daily activities and this half-fresh almond with slightly sweet neroli hits you, and it’s glorious. That said, apply several sprays since it’s not a bomb in projection and longevity, yet its particular scent stands out. It’s very pleasant to wear.

  • Parfum for The Masses

Just acquired it; I thought I couldn’t find any left, but there are still some. The opening is light, of course, not the best in the line, it doesn’t have much sillage, and has average longevity. If you’re a collector, fine, but if you’re not, it’s not worth it at the current price. For me, I got it for 23€ as a tester, so it was worth it.

  • I love it. One of my favorites for summer. I don’t understand why it wasn’t liked so much; it must be the people who want to smell like everyone else who criticize it 🤔. If you want to be different and smell unique in summer, this is your perfume. Excellent quality, just like the rest of the Ideal line. Guerlain’s best in terms of commercial appeal.

  • Memoquique

Its longevity is very good, despite being a sport fragrance. The scent is exquisite, ideal for working out or on hot days. Its only weak point is the sillage, which is understandable given the concept for which it was created, but I would have liked it to have a bit more projection and not just at 30 cm.

  • daniiecrowley

As a flanker of L’Homme Ideal, this Sport version stays in the doorway since it maintains a certain relationship with the mother but has its own distinct point. I can’t imagine a sportier and more classy fragrance than this, making it clear that with the term ‘sport’ it’s not meant for working out. Ideal for a morning or afternoon at a tourist spot or seaside boulevard, pleasant for a date, for going to the office, to be your signature scent. Lasts more than 7 hours on skin with a fair but perceptible projection; it doesn’t try to be a beast mode because on my skin it doesn’t behave like one. Yes, it lasts the whole workday. Although it doesn’t project after 1h30-2h, it remains perceptible at skin level, almost like a second skin. As I mentioned, it has slight touches of the original: at the start, a somewhat weird opening due to the citrus and almonds that create a quick flashback, then the aquatic notes come out shining, giving lots of freshness without falling into the ‘blue fragrance’ cliché. It has enough character to differentiate, making the combination completely addictive. Maybe carrying a small decant is what could reverse this fragrance’s flaw, because the elegance, character, presence, and versatility accompanied by excellent longevity make this flanker have enough to defend itself. Longevity: 8 hours. Projection: moderate to low. Final rating: 9.

  • In my opinion, it’s another one that smells exactly like L’Homme Ideal Cologne. That’s all there is to it. It’s like the one that replaced the original, period. Nothing to compare. The same subtle almond scent as the Original.

  • Omar Loredo

Rich fragrance, my second favorite in the L’Homme Ideal line (the first is Extreme). Super versatile; I wear it in heat and cold, day and night, and it always works. It’s one of the best designer blue fragrances, a different aquatic compared to the rest of the market. Yes, I recommend trying it first, not because of the smell, but because it doesn’t last the same for everyone and it’s pricey. Now it’s a bit hyped because it’s discontinued and hard to find. In my case, it lasts about 8 hours, though its projection is somewhat inconsistent: sometimes you can’t smell it, and other times it projects quite a bit.

  • It was a blind buy after reading several reviews. I wanted a sport fragrance from a well-known house and after considering Dior Homme Sport or Chanel Allure Homme Sport, I decided on this… and what a hit. In my opinion, it outshines the others in scent, with fantastic ingredient quality. The opening blew me away: aquatic and almond-y, I never thought those two notes would blend so well with a spiced base. The neroli has a timid presence, letting a sweet and herbaceous coumarin stand out more. Incredible; for me, it’s the best in the line alongside the original. Scent 9, longevity 7, sillage 7, value for money 10 if you can find it since it’s discontinued.

  • Bought it blind after reading reviews and wanted a branded sport scent. After comparing it to Dior Homme Sport or Chanel Allure Homme Sport, I chose this one and nailed it. In my opinion, it outshines the others in aroma, with fantastic quality ingredients. The opening blew my mind: aquatic and almond, a combo I never thought would work with a spicy base. The neroli is subtle; a sweet, herbaceous coumarin stands out more. Incredible. For me, it’s the best in the line alongside the original. Scent: 9, Longevity: 7, Sillage: 7, Value: 10 if you can find it since it’s discontinued.

  • Very rich fragrance that I loved from the first day, fresh, masculine, elegant, wow, you need to try it, it’s a ace up your sleeve. In outdoor environments, it stands out; the sillage is soft but as fresh as it gets. If you like it like I do, you’ll want to wear it daily and forget about some of the ones you have around during hot weather.

  • Sofisticado

A fantastic option for everyday wear that offers way more than its name suggests. Despite the ‘sport’ label, I see it as sober, neutral, clean, soapy, and even elegant. It doesn’t fail at the beach or in the office; it’s a Swiss Army knife for any season and daytime occasion (there are better options for night). I don’t feel it’s just a simple summer fresh scent; in fact, it doesn’t shine with absolute freshness—it offers much more (if I’m looking for something super fresh, I’d use Pure Cologne, Chrome by Azzaro, or similar). That’s why I see it as the ideal daily wear for any season when you want something clean, masculine, and sober; it never fails. I see it as more mature than youthful, with medium performance. It’s a non-massified option that gives you distinction and gets you out of the ‘trend’ crowd. I can see myself keeping this in my collection for a long time, even if it gets discontinued.

  • Sofisticado

Fantastic option for everyday wear that delivers way more than its name suggests. Despite its ‘Sport’ surname, I understand this perfume as something sober, neutral, clean, soapy, and even elegant. This fragrance won’t look out of place at the beach in the afternoon or at an office meeting; in my opinion, it’s a Swiss Army knife for any season and daytime occasion (for night or social events, there are better scents, certainly). I note that I don’t feel it as a simple fresh summer perfume; rather, I’d say it doesn’t shine with absolute freshness either since it offers much more than that (when I’m looking for something very fresh, I reach for Pure Cologne, Eau Issey, Chrome by Azzaro, Bulgari PH Extreme, or similar). This is why I see it as ideal as a daily perfume for any season when you’re looking for something clean, masculine, and sober; at least that’s the use I make of it, and it never fails. A perfume I understand as more mature than youthful, and whose performance is average for today. A non-mainstream option that will give you a distinction plus by taking you out of the ‘trend’ or ‘mainstream’ crowd. Looks like it will stay in my collection for a long time, even with the discontinuation.

  • It’s a fresh fragrance with the characteristic almond touch of the brand… I love wearing it daily, and it’s different from typical blue fragrances because of that almond touch. I recommend it with my eyes closed.

  • SantoGrial

In my opinion, based on experience, if you wear this fragrance, I don’t think anyone around you will smell the same as you; it’s simply a scent that distinguishes you. Fresh, for hot days, sun, beach, but with class. If you have a woman who dares to ask what you’re wearing, because you smell so good, this is surely one of those perfumes she’ll love. It’s happened to me with this fragrance. Not to mention that it’s a scent one enjoys a lot because, as I said, it’s uncommon. I recommend it.

  • marianoargentino

Hello, good afternoon. I like another one in my collection more, which is already discontinued. Aquatic scent accompanied by incredibly delicious, very natural almonds, then fresh spicy and neroli notes develop, with some citrus like lemon swirling around a fresh vetiver and woody aroma, and there’s tonka. A delicious scent. Don’t expect much projection or huge sillage; it’s a fragrance that accompanies you when you’re hugged or kissed. I love that part though. Scent and Quality 8/10, Sillage 6/10, Projection 6/10.

  • Poor performance. This flanker has gained a lot of fame alongside the L’Homme Idéal family. It’s pleasant, stands out within the blues with its characteristic notes, elegant, discreet, and enjoyable, but with very poor performance. It stays very close to the skin; for me, it’s barely perceptible, and I have trouble distinguishing the notes. If you like fragrances with a strong presence that make you stand out and are long-lasting… this isn’t it.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

I love the L’Homme Idéal line; almost all of them are incredible, but this Sport one I absolutely do not like. It’s a strange fragrance, like a perfume and a cologne all at once, everything and nothing. Almond is usually warm, so even though it’s neroli and aquatic, I don’t like the almond here. I know it’s the star of the collection, but they could have created this differently. Neroli, vetiver, patchouli, spices, tonka bean… it’s a nonsensical perfume. The scent is okay, but for a sporty fragrance, I don’t feel it’s fresh; in fact, it makes me dizzy in the heat and in the cold it’s hardly noticeable, so I don’t see any time of use. It has moderate sillage and good longevity, but I’m not surprised they discontinued it.

  • L’Homme Idéal Sport is a beast of a perfume. It stands out from the rest of the blues. Many will say it’s generic, but not at all. It’s pure class: aquatic, fresh, radiant. One of my summer favorites. That almond touch gives it an unmatched plus compared to any other blue, with quality on another level. Perfect for summer days; on my skin it lasts spectacularly, projects for more than 3 hours, and lasts between 8 and 10 hours. Unfortunately discontinued; perhaps Guerlain knew exactly how to make it before they liquidated it at incredible prices before it disappeared, and now they keep new launches at almost niche prices (100-120 euros). If you can, don’t hesitate; it’s a wonder. Buy blind, no problem. Everyone loves it. 10/10.

  • Martiinxdjaj

It seems like a very elegant fragrance, fresh thanks to the white flowers and exquisite due to the amaretto almond note that makes it unique. The performance is very good for an EDT; without a doubt, it’s the best purchase I’ve made.

  • uruguay(2018)

Hello everyone. Despite the critics, L’Homme Idéal Sport is a hit in my opinion. It’s a flanker that, while it should resemble the original, is one of the ones that does so the least. There are better blues, yes, but they are much more mainstream. Here you get a realistic almond note with a marine touch, neroli, vetiver, and a noticeable sweet coumarin. On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours, projects for an hour and a half, and leaves a moderate trail that stays close to the skin, but if someone comes close to greet or hug you, they will definitely smell it. It’s for summer/spring. I have the 2017 edition and I’m lucky there hasn’t been a reformulation. You may like it or not, but it’s Guerlain, so it’s quality. They discontinued the product, so if you can grab it at a good price, I recommend it. Scent/Quality: 8, Projection: 7.5, Sillage: 7.5
