  Brutal composition. I’ve tried Montecristo and Tango by He, both good, but the first one wins. L’attesa is another level of mastery with iris. Although Prada L’homme and Dior Homme also praise it, none come close to this quality. Iris is one of the most expensive oils in the world, and here they use three types plus water lily root. It opens with creamy iris and an effervescent alcohol, then an hour later turns green, hugging the suede leather. It shines a lot. The only flaw: high price and only comes in 35 ml. If you like iris, try it, it’s a masterpiece.

  This perfume isn’t for me. The champagne note, like in Ambre Russe, tastes sour and vinegary to me. It has great quality and performs well, but that combination of notes just doesn’t work for me. It has some freshness and greenery, the iris a bit creamy and powdery, with a leather base that’s not rough at all, quite friendly. As I said, it has so much quality and phases where you feel you’re wearing something truly different, but given how expensive it is, I don’t see the value.

  This is why niche… is niche. L’Attesa has tons of creamy iris ruling the mix. A light leather supports it, and there’s a champagne effervescence. It leans more towards unisex-feminine. Good performance, elegant, versatile, top quality. For iris lovers, it’s in the top 3 today. It could give Panthea Iris by Stephane Humbert Lucas a run for its money with that powdery iris. Complaining about the price is a hollow argument; if you don’t have money, there are cheaper options like Dior Homme. Fantastic!

Leaning towards unisex-feminine. Good performance, elegant, and versatile. Top-tier quality. For those who love iris, we’re talking about the top 3 best so far. It could give Panthea Iris by Stephane Humbert Lucas a good fight with its masterful powdery iris. Complaining about the price is a silly and hollow argument; if you don’t have money, there are friendlier options like Dior Homme. Fantastic!

  I didn’t like it at all. Yes, it’s an overloaded and greasy iris, but even though I like that note, this one wasn’t pleasant to me. Maybe it’s due to my experience with cosmetics, because it smells like expired lipstick. What I perceived was a mix of Jordana lipstick (super cheap) with a dry fruity aldehyde base of mezcal (delicious in drinks, but here it makes me feel sick). It calms down later, but never fully settles on my skin. Glad I tried a decant before making a crazy blind purchase. Moderate projection, 8-10 hours duration.

  I absolutely hated this one. It’s an overly heavy, greasy iris; while I love that note, here it smells like stale lipstick. Maybe due to my experience with cosmetics, it feels like a mix of cheap Jordana pencil with a dry, fruity aldehyde base from mezcal (delicious in drinks, but here it makes me feel sick). It calms down at first but never truly settles on the skin. Thank goodness I tried a decant before making a blind purchase. Average projection, lasts 8-10 hours.

  L’Attesa means ‘the wait’ in Italian. And while waiting to find my perfect iris fragrance (notable ones for me are L’Immonuit, Florentine Iris, DHI, and Iris de Syracuse), I have to say Masque’s proposal left me a bit lukewarm. The iris here isn’t creamy or powdery; it’s almost mineral without sweetness. When I try to describe it, words like soft (too subtle if it has three types), velvety, and dry come to mind. Dry, of course, but not powdery. If there were a bit more sandalwood, maybe I’d like it more. It smells as intensely as a hand cream. Two sensations: latent dissatisfaction, like going to a gourmet restaurant and realizing at the end you’re still hungry and have 150 euros less in your pocket; and a ‘rough’ base that transforms the character. The residual water lily creates a sad, rainy-day mood, like when we were kids and could only look out the window without going out. Every nose is a world, and in my case, I haven’t connected with this highly praised perfume.

  It smells like a baby wipe, the kind used to clean up behind the bum, yes, that one. It’s a mixed floral with a suede base and a bubbly citrus top. I’m not saying I hate it, just that it doesn’t excite me. It’s a pleasant scent; everything from this house is. High quality and complex. It’s a matter of clicking or not. And this one, for me, doesn’t click.
