Kingdom of Bahrain by Roja Dove is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Roja Dove. The top notes reveal a vibrant freshness with lime, lemon, heliotrope, laurel leaf, and bergamot. The heart of the fragrance unfolds a delicate florality of violet, May rose, and jasmine. Finally, the base notes offer a complex and exotic sequence including ambergris, birch, pine, cotton candy, cypress, oud wood, pink pepper, leather, cashmere wood, saffron, patchouli, vanilla, tonka bean, and cedar.

Wow, what a spectacular fragrance. It’s citrusy and green, very woody and spicy, absolutely intoxicating. The opening is immense, like smelling the explosion of a galaxy; a thousand notes burst forth all at once. The lemon wants to scream, but it’s silenced by an army of green notes like patchouli (earthy-mineral) and a resinous sensation that smells like tree sap, such as myrrh or copal. I need to try it more often; I’ve only smelled it a couple of times, and it smells different each time. The price makes it a bit pricey, but I recommend trying it first because as it dries down, a smoky resinous scent takes over, giving it a mature, imposing personality—just how an Arab monarch should smell.
