Descripción

Elysium Pour Homme Parfum Cologne by Roja Dove is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by nose Roja Dove. The top notes unfold a fresh citrus and herbal accord with grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, lime, thyme, hyssop, and galbanum. The heart reveals a complex blend of vetiver, juniper berries, blackcurrants, apple, cedar, pink pepper, coumarin, valley lily, rose, and jasmine. The base settles on a warm, woody foundation of ambergris, leather, vanilla, benzoin, and labdanum.

  • I really wanted it… and what a letdown. The only highlight is the opening, with playful citrus well-blended. From there, the disaster: it disappears at the speed of light, has no sillage, and the performance is ridiculous. One of my biggest disappointments.

I don’t share those who say it doesn’t last long; just smelling it from the bottle, the scent sticks to your nose for almost an hour. If you spray it on clothes, you can keep smelling it without reapplying for days. Like any masterpiece, it has detractors; it’s natural. With Elysium, something curious happens: the first time you smell it, you need to buy it desperately; it’s so piercingly beautiful that you fall in love instantly. But if you use it often, you get tired of it, because that freshness is very dense and strong. For me, the ideal is to use it on special occasions, where you’ll fully enjoy it remembering how good it is. Others will make you notice the beauty of your perfume. Then you put the bottle away until the next time. If the Aventus substitute had to be something else, it would be Elysium by Roja Dove, an evolution with superior sophistication.

I bought a decant of Elysium Roja today and used it on a very hot day. I liked it a lot; I always put it on the opposite side of my elbow so I don’t saturate myself, and it convinced me quite a bit. Even though I sweated a lot, the scent persists for over 6 hours on skin and intact on clothes. It’s super fresh and smells clean thanks to the vetiver. When I got home after showering, I surprised my wife; her eyes lit up when she smelled it, she said it was exquisite and she loved it; it’s a magnet. I understand it might sound simple, but it’s in the fresh range; it’s not always the most complex, but women love it. I highly recommend it for warm weather; don’t overuse it because the scent penetrates, but it’s definitely worth it.

  • ELYSIUM ROJA DOVE: Wow, after reading that many reject it, I tried it and it has nothing to do with Creed’s Aventus. The scent is fantastic, super masculine, elegant, and attractive; it turns heads and stands out from the rest. The performance isn’t the best, but it’s not that bad either; it projected well for 2 hours and lasted 8. If you don’t want to spend what it asks for its price, try two almost identical Arab inspirations at 97%: Trillium by Emir or Imperium by Fragrance World, both for around $40. In fact, I put Elysium on one wrist and Trillium on the other, and they’re identical. There’s no excuse not to have this scent, which, in my opinion, is a 10/10. Maybe I’ll be labeled a newbie, but if a fragrance captivates your senses, it’s a 10 even if it’s not complex. It’s exquisite, ideal for spring, summer, and day, and also on warm nights. Sharp citrus, precious woods, and a touch of amber make it a blast. I’ve loved it. Scent: 10. I recommend its clones; they smell the same, last longer, and are much cheaper.

Smells great but it’s super basic; it sounds like Polo Blue or Deep Blue Parfum for that fruity touch. It’s not for those looking for niche; it’s generic and friendly; there are more challenging designer options. If you want something simple, it’s fine, but first check out the Comandante, Torino 21 by Xerjoff, Cedrat Boise by Mancera, Hacivat by Nishane, or the blues by Marly. I doubt you’ll find something better than this.

  • An exquisite fragrance, one you keep smelling over and over where you sprayed it. One of the best citrus scents out there, smelling of pure quality. A gem… and then come the downsides. Lasts about 2 hours projecting and another 5 on skin (I’m lucky because for others it lasts a total of 3), and the price is steep for what it offers. But if you can’t afford it, at least give yourself the chance to try it with a decant. Very versatile and works best in heat, of course; here it lasts less. Always in my top 5.

  • Elysium by Roja Dove. A very controversial cologne: many think that paying $300 means it has to be groundbreaking, and it’s not always the case, generating hate. But in this cologne, you can find extraordinary note quality, executed with mastery and perfect balance. The raw materials are good and expensive; this isn’t done on a low budget. Those who say otherwise might not find their charm due to the shock of spending so much on low performance, but the quality is undeniable. If you’re considering buying it, clarify that it’s not an EDP or Parfum; it performs like an EDT in longevity and projects like a cologne. If you’re looking for a beast mode at that price, I don’t recommend it. If you’re a fougère lover, looking for something fresh for summer, modern, versatile, and with maximum quality, it’s the best option because the scent is incredible. But if you expect it to meet all performance requirements, for that money there are hundreds of other niche options, EDPs, colognes, etc. Personally, I was fascinated by it and hesitated a lot before buying. I have several options to vary, but if it’s going to be your only perfume, definitely don’t buy it; you have to be generous with sprays, and it runs out quickly. In summary, it’s for those who want to smell incredible for about 6 hours (maximum) and are sure of what they’re buying. After some time, the liquid matures, gains body and longevity; on my skin, it’s over 8 hours. I agree with a fellow user: smell it from the bottle and it gets stuck in your nose for hours; it lasts a long time on clothes.

  • A spectacular blue fragrance; you understand immediately upon smelling it why it’s so famous. It’s my favorite in the genre; I feel lucky because it lasts about 5 or 6 hours and even longer on clothes. It’s that kind of fragrance where you put it on and know you’re going to crush it that day.

  • Honestly, I don’t get that mango note Untxi mentioned; it’s a super delicious fresh fruity scent. Every time I wear it, people ask what I’m wearing and the compliments never stop. To me, it’s a party for the nose, and I love it—it’s an aromatic delight. In short, a PERFUMAZOOOOO…. :v

  • It smells like mango. It’s fresh and fruity, with mango taking the lead. Pleasant and you don’t get tired of smelling it. But it smells like mango. An elegant, sophisticated, and delicious mango, but still mango.

  • Kevin Jodico

Finally, I tested it with a 5ml decant at a trusted store. It’s not bad, nor excellent for its price. It has poor performance. Sometimes I think reviewers get incentives. In my opinion, it’s not worth the cost. It resembles Hacivat Aroma: 7/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10.

  • Alejandrohdezruiz

If it weren’t because I bought it at a highly trusted physical store, I’d think they sold me a fake. It literally disappears in two minutes. The worst purchase in my collection. I had Isola Blu in mind, but I’m already quarantining Roja Dove.

  • It was a complete letdown. The scent is nothing extraordinary, very citrusy, and I don’t perceive anything else. There are better scents at lower prices that smell and last longer. DO NOT recommend for blind buys. Don’t let yourself be carried away by reviews; better buy a decant.

  • My 100th review is for the best perfume in my collection and probably the best on the market right now. It’s the most elegant, refined, luxurious, and attractive. Maybe I’m ignorant and don’t have a trained nose, but I smell so good. I understand the frustration of many who only smell it for a few minutes, but it shouldn’t be funny given the price. I’m privileged: I get compliments up to 12 hours after spraying it on my neck without getting close. My experience with this jewel is an 11 out of 10. Perfection in a bottle. Everyone enjoys their own thing, so peace and love. Thanks Roja for making me feel so good.

  • Total disappointment: boring and with a performance that leaves much to be desired. I tested it at the mall store in Dubai and paying such a high price for a perfume that seems watery…

  • The apple scent is delicious, and I think it achieves it best; it has floral notes and the citrus is soft, so it doesn’t bother anyone, even those who don’t like citrus. It’s super refined and elegant. I still doubt if it’s more unisex than masculine. It’s very expensive, understandable given the notes, but it’s a luxury treat for special occasions. What needs clarification is that it’s very weak: it fades in two hours, max three. That’s why I give it 7.8/10. Edit: it has become one of my favorites. Do you know what the gods of Olympus smell like? Yes, like this perfume.

  • Enrique José

In my opinion, it’s the cleanest, freshest citrus ever created. Elysium Cologne pleases everyone; its scent is clean, natural, and elegant. What a pity its performance is so poor: it doesn’t last or project at all. For my wife, she has to hug me tightly to smell it, so I use it for sleeping. Is it worth paying its price just to have it in the collection?

  • With Roja, I always have high expectations, and this was no less: many ups and downs. At first, the citrus punch upon spraying was so potent it threw me off, but then the magic appears: a floral, woody, spicy touch, and above all, very green. I really feel the cypress. I’d tell a friend it’s like walking through citrus groves in a green, vegetation-filled forest. My skin highlights the greenery. The drydown is wonderful, the house trademark… but so scarce! It performs terribly, maybe two hours. For its price, it makes no sense. What a pity.

  • I’m lucky to try niche where I usually go, and Elysium caught my eye. I’m a fan of fresh and citrusy scents, and when I smelled it, I thought ‘crystal clear’: fine, transparent, neat, and clean. It’s the best citrus I’ve tried; it doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. But if the longevity is short as they say, combined with the 300€ price tag, it’s unusable for me. Paying that, I expect above-average longevity and projection, and judging by the reviews, I fear it won’t be the case.

  • Andres colombia

Rich, super delicious, but fades quickly. A top-tier fougère in its class, better than Aventus but less complete than Nishane. The best citrus. I like the opening and base notes; the middle phase isn’t very good.

  • I almost bought it in Mexico for around 450 dollars. I tested it on my skin and it didn’t last at all; I saw good reviews that almost convinced me, so I looked for decants of the regular and Intense versions to confirm, and both last the same: not even two hours on my skin. They say it’s the pH, mine doesn’t help. The scent is excellent, but it failed me. I used it again today, applied it 7 hours ago at the gym, showered, and it’s still projecting. One day I almost bought it, and the next I doubt; I need to test it more in different conditions because I love it.

  • Miguel amateur

I’m always tempted by enthusiastic reviews to buy blindly. A costly mistake I’ve fallen into several times. Thanks to that, I learned to buy decants. I did with Elysium: I bought a sample that arrived today. Desperately, I put on the perfume. I won’t discuss notes because I’m not an expert. I’ll just say it smells good and fresh, but for me, it has nothing special, and the development is very poor. Definitely, I don’t think it’s worth the price. Friends, read reviews, but there are many sites selling decants; don’t buy blindly.

  • Adrian Escobar

If it weren’t for the poor longevity and high cost, it would be my signature. A scent people like, attracts compliments, but lasts a maximum of 4 hours on skin. Value is 5 or 6 points, but the smell is 10/10. It’s a shame for a prestigious brand like Roja Dove.

  • Space Sweeney

What else can I say? My untrained nose says it smells like cleaning glass. However, once the citrus fades, it becomes sweet. Longevity? If you ask me, it doesn’t last at all. It must be due to olfactory fatigue because it’s strong; after 9-10 hours, others say it smells a lot, and the next day I could perceive it myself.

  • Tangential to Issey Miyake Homme. Roja’s opening has exquisite sweet grapefruit and blood orange. The rest seems very similar to me. Roja’s dry-down is also more resinous and sweet. Cheers.

  • IvanIglesias

I don’t know where to start, warning that it might be boring. I was scared by contradictory comments about longevity. I wanted a high-quality refreshing citrus for day and night. It’s versatile and elegant. I wore it on a cold summer night in Buenos Aires; my friends noticed and said it smelled rich and masculine. Sprayed at 10:30 PM, I could still smell it until 5:30 AM. By the next day at 3:00 PM, I couldn’t smell it on myself, but there was a faint trace on my wrist, almost like skin scent. Is it an Aventus clone? No, it’s a citrus with a slow, lasting dry-down. The first hour and a half has an Aventus style, but then it goes elsewhere, richer and more elegant than Creed. In the dry-down, it becomes sweet, woody, and rests on exquisite, subtle leather—animalistic but not wild. It gives that soft, clean, citrusy, masculine vibe that women love. Conclusion: Roja Elysium Eau de Cologne is a soft but persistent citrus. Over time, the citrus sweetens with vanilla and settles on leather. It doesn’t last an hour; people smell it. It doesn’t overwhelm or obscure; it’s for weddings or dressing well. Elegance goes with subtlety. EDIT 22/06/25: In winter in Buenos Aires, I sprayed 12 times at 3:00 PM and barely smelled it. By 9:20 PM while dining with family, my mother said it smelled great and was very noticeable. EDIT 25/10/25: Fresh day, 12-15 sprays at 5:30 PM. She told me the scent stayed on my clothes. At 1:40 AM when my parents arrived, my mom said they could smell it in my room. It’s strange that I barely smell it, but it lasts, people like it, and they can smell it. Buy without fear.

  • Citrus opening, fresh and fruity (cranberry and apple), I love it. After 15 minutes, leather emerges, making it more masculine and distinctive. Then, around 30 minutes in, a green accord similar to Aventus appears, which is the least favorite part: it doesn’t smell bad, but it’s common and gets heavy. Lasts 45 minutes on skin with good projection until then. Then it settles into a personal bubble, which I like again; the individual notes blend into a fresh woody accord. Well-made, easy to enjoy. Timeless, youthful yet with masculine character. Lasts up to 8 hours, though afterwards it’s just a personal bubble. Causes olfactory fatigue—you might not feel it, but others do. Moderate sillage, not meant to overwhelm. More of a daytime scent. Creates a rich but discreet aura. Wearable year-round, though it sounds like spring-summer. Doesn’t seek strong projection. The downside is the price; wait for discounts. The Aventus phase lacks originality. Smells good, rich aura, many occasions. 8.5/10.

  • Smells amazing. The price dropped a lot. The Versace scent is noticeable quickly, but given the bargain price, I’m not complaining. Very refreshing and rich.

  • This aroma is magnificent. I wanted to get the best alternative, but FragranceWorld doesn’t have it. It’s the fragrance ‘Imperium,’ it’s hard to find, and it’s the best option; if you can get it, beast mode on!

  • Papadopoulos02

I love them, worth every euro. Fresh, modern, and vibrant—it’s already my daily wear. Projects for 3 hours, lasts 5 hours on skin. Not a beast mode, but definitely present. Ideal for fougère lovers with a youthful twist. Clean, elegant, fun. Timeless, though it feels more like a scent for younger people. If you like aromatic fragrances with character, you’ll like this.

  • Carcanuelo

The first time I smelled this, years ago, my head exploded. I had never felt a citrus and fresh scent at this level; it left all summer colognes behind. For elegance, quality, and seduction. The ‘curse’ of collectors is the permanent search for new perfumes, which relegated Elysium to the bottom of the shelf. After all, even the best gets boring: Elysium, Aventus, Sauvage… But the eternal return made the beauty of the bottle attract my gaze again. Like a seasoned soldier marked by battles with aggressive ouds and animalic musks, I turned my attention back to that blue bottle, whose luxury clashed with the silent elegance that seemed to be waiting for me. Reverently, I picked it up, sprayed it, and said, ‘I love you, I never stopped loving you. Thanks for waiting, for understanding my olfactory promiscuity.’ And we tried again, this time from experience. Medium/high opening, longevity of several hours on skin and clothes, sharp and creamy citrus. Masculine, a true modern fougère, luxurious, that dresses in elegance and seduction. Roja faithful to itself, combining woods, herbs, and musk like a symphony orchestra. After Elysium, Imagination, or L’Inmensité de Vuitton seem to pale, like teenagers before a real man. Obviously for spring/summer, formal situations, or to attract attention elegantly in informal settings. Masculine, nothing vintage. On par with the best in compliments. Outstanding.

  • Jaime Ramírez

A very different aroma, citrus with a sweet touch and a musky, woody base. It’s not common; it’s fresh, elegant, and casual. I hadn’t smelled anything like this because most citrus scents are acidic or bitter, but this one is delicate, slightly sweetened, fruity, and musky. I give it 9 out of 10 for the scent, although it doesn’t last long on the skin; I perceive it for about 5 hours.

  • Bleu de Chanel taken to its maximum expression with ultra-quality and niche harmony. Extremely bright, it has its own light where green apple fuses with herbal notes to give a clean and sexy sensation, without falling into detergent scents. Spring and summer at full blast.

  • A spectacular perfume, critical in a very different way. It combines the acidity of citrus with juniper and thyme very well, making it so special and versatile. Pity about the price and longevity; it didn’t last more than a couple of hours on me; it made me think they categorize it as ‘Parfum Cologne,’ I don’t know if that’s a category superior to cologne.

  • Josué González Céspedes

This isn’t perfume; it’s body water, but they sell it as niche for over $200. Incredible that Roja would mock customers like this.

  • I’m not disgusted by it; it’s a very 80s and early 90s masculine fragrance. I think if you have the CDN Intense EDP, there’s no need to buy this; it’s weaker than the aforementioned one. The Armaf version is more durable and economical. I like the bottle and the scent, but I see the Armaf as a better option. Be careful with the average longevity.

  • If you want to waste your money because you’re a snob and feel better paying something 10 times more expensive, go ahead, this is your brand of choice.

  • @Vidar, if you can’t afford to buy Roja and use Arab clones because they last all day and leave something for dinner, I don’t judge you, but there are people who prioritize quality and excellence. Elysium is sublime, elegant, masculine, with presence and enormous quality citrus that dominate the entire life of the perfume. I guarantee 6 hours, it lasts longer for me, but I understand it doesn’t work for everyone, though if you atomize it well, it doesn’t have issues.

  • Hello everyone. I’m not an expert, but I’ve smelled many perfumes and wanted to share why Roja’s Elysium earned a spot in my collection. Months ago, I tried the discovery set and used it several times without noting much, though it seemed to last about 6 hours. I really tested it this summer in the heat (31°C) and dry climate. I sprayed it on at 9 am with 10 sprays and went out for breakfast and a walk. The opening is very citrusy, orange with a sweet touch. By noon, while walking, I noticed an incredible scent that I first thought came from a store, but as I kept moving, I realized it was Elysium transforming into a super rich and potent fougère aroma, probably due to vetiver and jasmine. By 5 pm, at home, I couldn’t smell it, but when I smelled my arm, it was there. I asked my wife, and when she leaned in to my neck, she said yes, there was a personal bubble. By 9 pm, I could only smell it if she got very close. In short: good longevity, exquisite high-quality scent (typical of Roja), and a very pleasant amber base. It projects well at first and then lingers on the skin for a long time. It has a distinctive scent, it doesn’t resemble Aventus beyond the citrus-woody structure. Cheers.
