Kenzo World by Kenzo

Bought it for the bottle; seemed novel and I finished it out of spite even though I didn’t like it. Nobody warned me about the scent—it was like they weren’t wearing perfume until I remembered now, and it gives me nausea. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Original, nocturnal, and fresh without being too intense. Moderate projection; I got complimented a couple of times, but it doesn’t last on the skin at all, maybe 3 hours max.

Where is the Egyptian jasmine? I can’t find it 🤔. The fragrance is lovely and stands out in my collection: opens with a ton of sweet, sparkling red fruits. Then I get cucumber, yes, rare but interesting. The ambroxan doesn’t bother me; in fact, I like it, so I went for it. The peony is in the dry-down with that undisclosed cucumber. In the end, it’s sweet and soft, smelling like those Yapa candy tablets sold here. I like it! Not groundbreaking, but an interesting proposal, give it a try. It fills you with energy and good humor. P.S.: I’ll stick with the Intense version a thousand times over; that one is truly beautiful.

I’m sorry… but I couldn’t handle this perfume. It’s curious because near the end of the bottle I applied it more often and could identify those red fruit and floral notes… But it was around 12 degrees. With this I mean that this perfume, which I considered for spring/summer, is nothing like that. It’s for temperate climates, not cold ones, because if it’s under 10 degrees, the cold just eats it up. I’ve never tolerated its opening or evolution. I’ve been in perfumery for 3 years and my nose can’t handle extremely heavy musks or large doses of amber/ambroxan; my olfactory system ignores them. So Kenzo World was a bomb of heavy artificial musk with a slight floral note. By the hour, it disappeared from my nose, and even though people told me I smelled good, what’s the point if I don’t enjoy it? It cost me to finish the bottle; with perfumes I don’t like they last forever, and with the ones I adore they evaporate like water. I must highlight that it’s original; I haven’t smelled anything similar, maybe the only resemblance is the musk in Red Heart V.3. Maybe in the future, where my sense of smell evolves, I’ll return to this Kenzo World. Worth noting that its commercial and advertising seem extraordinary; I bought it only for that. If you’re like me and couldn’t handle this work by Francis, go for Kenzo World Intense or its sibling Kenzo World Power, which is a lovely summer treat. I own both Kenzo World and World Intense, both in parfum concentration, but I don’t perceive any difference. Has anyone done this and can you tell me? Thanks

My husband gifted this to me and he nailed it 100%—I tested it in-store and absolutely loved it. At first, I was skeptical about how it would wear on my skin, but the truth is, every time I put it on, I get flooded with compliments. It lasts forever; I think it has great chemistry with my pH, so I love feeling like this, and it smells amazing on everyone else too. It’s perfect for winter, fall, spring, or cool summer days, day or night—super versatile. It works great for work or for being sensual with your partner. It makes a statement and has personality. While everyone chooses what they want, this is for someone with a strong character, someone who carries the world on their shoulders, nothing submissive. The name ‘World’ invites women just like that. If you’re interested in a dupe, Kosiuko Shine Gold is identical and comes in at about one-tenth the price of Kenzo World.

I’d been wanting to try this for ages and finally found it in a store, but honestly, it was disappointing. Not because of the scent, which I thought was exquisite, clean, and so potent I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist even from a distance. The issue is longevity: I sprayed it at 1:30 PM and by 4:30 PM there was nothing left, even after two generous sprays. Bottom line, I won’t buy it again. I’ve tried other brands that claim poor longevity, like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, but they last a bit longer and cost five times less. It’s a shame because while it lasted, I absolutely loved it.

I’m a huge fan of Francis Kurkdjian perfumes and any Kenzo. I tried it in Paris just before it arrived in Spain and brought it back as a souvenir. A true delight for the senses. I’d buy it a thousand times over.

It’s a very special aroma, certainly not for everyone. It’s either something you love or hate. I like it. The longevity is good and the bottle is beautiful.

I read the reviews and noticed they vary a lot, so I dug out some old samples to refresh my memory. Indeed, World on my skin feels incomplete and dark; I don’t sense the florals, and the base is too intense, rushing in without letting me enjoy the heart notes. The opening is very volatile. I don’t dislike it, but it sounds undefined and muted; it’s not Kenzo’s best, and I’d hardly buy it when there are better options at the same price.

I love it; it was love at first sniff. The jasmine, my favorite flower, is very present, and the ambroxan gives it a unisex vibe that I really like (I have other options for super-floral feminine scents). It makes me feel happy and is perfect for all seasons, maybe less for summer because the opening is a bit strong. The trail is moderate but lasts hours before fading. I love reviving it with a breeze. It lasts about eight hours in cool weather and five in the heat (on clothes, from one day to the next). It’s pricey but worth it; I’d buy it again. Tip: don’t buy it blind, as the ambroxan can be heavy for some noses.

I tried it again almost a year later, and my nose has evolved… and as always, this is cheap and sweet but fresh, a scent I’ve already perceived in fragrances like Mon Paris and Olympea Legend, all fresh. I stick with Legend because it’s soft and warm; I’m not a fan of fresh scents like this one because they technically cool down my nose, especially now in winter. Maybe it would work better in spring when it feels less fresh. I remember it was one of my favorites, the lovely Kenzo World.

It’s quite masculine, like something for a teenager. After a few hours on my skin, it starts to smell like saliva, horrible!

Finally! They lowered the price, and I could get it. It’s a very rich perfume, but there’s something that bothers me. It’s versatile, sweet but not cloying, appropriate for intermediate seasons. I tried it in summer and found it a bit strong; it’s more for afternoons and nights; I haven’t tried it in winter yet. The opening is intense but calms down by the hour, leaving a moderate and soft, very pleasant trail, with quite good longevity. I liked it and already completed the trio; I just need the yellow one for the quartet. Edit: I couldn’t stand the strong ambroxan in this EDP at the counter.
