  • I’m not sure if the Fifth Avenue boutique charmed me (though my looks say I’m not my best, the service was top-notch, and you never know who you’re grabbing coffee with based on appearances). Maybe I’ve just linked the scent to luxury, and neuromarketing knows exactly how price works. Unlike Boy, this one didn’t remind me of other perfumes, despite sharing the lavender-vanilla combo found in Casanova, Le Male, or Caron. I tested it generously on my skin, and unlike some worse perfumes, it didn’t exude anything weird at first. The lavender isn’t harsh; it’s clean. The tonka is hard to detect—it lacks nutty, tobacco, or artificial sweet notes, and the vanilla is worlds away from Mercadona’s custard. The musk is noticeable, especially in the dry-down and initial settling, losing some strength by the end, perhaps giving way to the vanilla. The rest of the notes escape me. The brand calls it powdery, but for me, it’s not; what is truly powdery and soapy is the 31 Rue Cambon my mom tried, which smells like soap. It lasts all day with elegance, avoiding cloying sweetness or pasty lavender; the white musk isn’t bothersome. The only flaw is that the intensity is low, but if you apply it strategically with a bit of joy, it projects better, and maybe you’ll get asked out on the street. Ahhh, sorry for the excitement, that last part is harder :P.

Maybe I’ve just associated this scent with luxury, and neuromarketing knows exactly how price works. Like Boy, it reminded me of other perfumes, but not this one, despite sharing the lavender-vanilla combo found in others like Casanova, Le Male, or Caron. I tested it generously on my skin, and unlike some worse perfumes, it didn’t exude anything weird at first. The lavender isn’t harsh; it’s clean. The tonka is hard to detect—it doesn’t add nutty, tobacco, or artificial sweet notes, and the vanilla is worlds away from Mercadona’s custard. The musk (a tricky note) is prominent in the dry-down and initial settling, losing some strength by the end, perhaps giving way to the vanilla. The rest of the notes are hard to pinpoint. The brand calls it powdery, but for me, it’s not; what is truly powdery and soapy is the 31 Rue Cambon my mom tried. The scent lasts all day with good elegance, avoiding cloying sweetness or pasty lavender; the white musk isn’t overpowering either. The only issue I spotted, even in this small test, is that the intensity might be low, but if you apply it strategically with a bit of joy, it becomes easier to smell, and maybe you’ll get asked out on the street. Ahhh, sorry for the excitement, that last part is harder :P.

  • I’ll be brief… It smells like Mennen baby shampoo, the best in the world… That’s my report.

  • FranSeatJones.

It’s the most real and bright wild lavender scent I’ve ever tried. It finishes with a fresh vanilla touch, very different from others like Guerlain’s Moon, with nothing gourmand. It’s super soothing and evocative for spring, perfect for unisex and formal wear. It lasts well with a close trail, but it’s worth it. For me, it’s a 10. 💜🫟
