Chopard missed the mark in perfumery, even though their jewelry remains exquisite and pricey. Their fragrances, even the new high-end ones, suffer from the indifference of a community led by unqualified YouTubers and TikTokers like Andrés, whose reviews are biased by personal tastes and payments. It was never the most ‘in’ brand, but it had hits like Camir, the only classic still in production, and forgotten gems like Casran. The ‘Happy’ collection is undervalued: four cheerful fragrances with stunning bottles, often gifted with a gold necklace and heavy crystal stoppers. Inside, you find fresh compositions where ‘Bigaradia’ is the olfactory jewel. Happy Magnolia Bliss (my 2023 Magnolia Bouquet bottle) is a breath of freshness, the most ethereal and modern magnolia—citrusy and clean with soapy rose accents, followed by fruity-sweet facets and a peppery effervescence after the initial phase. It’s springtime in a bottle, perfect for everything except winter, with moderate performance (there are pricier options that last just as long), but given the price and the bottle, it’s definitely worth it. It deserves a try; its positivity is guaranteed to brighten your day.
