Fleur Defendue by Lolita Lempicka is a fruity-floral-gourmand fragrance for women. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by Annick Menardo. The top notes unfold with mimosa, absinthe, fresh leaf, and green stems; the heart reveals violet, anise, peony, and iris; while the base notes complete the olfactory pyramid with almond, cherry, and musk.

Fleur Defendue is a floral-gourmand scent that leans more towards gourmand. It smells like the original Lolita but less dreamy and sugary, instead feeling more mature, feminine, and sophisticated. It definitely smells of vanilla, even though it’s not listed in the composition. You can feel that same fluffy, slightly creamy texture as the original, but here the vanilla is drier and more opaque, which gives it its unique charm. My nose detects a slightly bitter, dry almond, a dark cherry, an exotic violet, a tiny touch of velvety musk over a soft cushion of opaque vanilla, and a very subtle peony holding everything together. The dry down has a smooth, creamy nutty facet with a powdery touch. This beauty whispers its charm on the skin, evoking the texture of almond-silk and powder brushing against you… Overall, it’s sensual yet refined. In my opinion, it’s the most charismatic and likable of the Lolitas. It’s not my favorite, but I notice it has more fans because it’s not as sweet as the original. Longevity is excellent, and the projection is very strong—highly recommended.
A floral-gourmand that leans toward gourmand. Less sweet and more sophisticated than the original, it smells of dry vanilla, bitter almond, and dark cherry. The dry down is creamy and powdery, like silk on the skin. It’s sensual, refined, and the most charismatic of the Lolos, with excellent longevity.
Lovely, fresh, and feminine, with a bitter touch over sweet flowers. It’s not cloying; its scent is natural. On my skin, the green notes and violet stand out, while cherry and almond are subtle. It evokes a spring forest under the morning sun. It’s an interesting apple and different from the usual gourmand options.
I came to review and confirmed what Azuriita said better: it’s not gourmand, it’s super floral and green. It evokes an enchanted forest with moss and a magical touch of fairy dust. Violet and mimosa dominate; I don’t smell the cherry. It smells wonderful on my skin, lasts until the next day, and works well even in winter.
Delicious, fresh, and green, it’s my personal fragrance. It transports me to a forest smelling of wet earth, which I adore. I don’t detect the cherry, which is great. Longevity is excellent, lasting over 8 hours. I feel like I’m in a fairy tale.
This fragrance is delicious, super fresh, very floral, and green. It’s definitely my signature scent; I love it. It’s one of the best aromas I’ve ever smelled in my life. It’s not a common smell; it’s different but beautiful. I agree with previous reviews—I don’t smell gourmand notes from start to finish. I detect green notes, and I adore them. The moment I hear it, I’m transported to a forest; it’s a slightly earthy, colloquial scent that reminds me of wet earth, which is my favorite part of this perfume. Another excellent thing for me is that I don’t smell the cherry at all, which is a note I simply don’t like. The trail is light, but the longevity is excellent, lasting more than 8 hours on my skin. The bottle is simply beautiful, like a little fairy. Although I first heard Le Premier Parfum and loved it, when I heard this one, I fell in love even more. Wearing this perfume makes me feel like I’m in a fairy tale.
Fleur Defendue breaks with the house’s mystique to be luminous and austere. It opens with a green shock of mimosa reminiscent of gourmet herbs, followed by a heart of soft anise and dominant violet. The base features almond, cherry, and musk. Fresh, carefree, and with a touch of Celtic mythology.
Fleur Defendue is not an autonomous fragrance in terms of composition, as it maintains its identity within the Lolita Lempicka family. It took a path of singularity by moving away from the mystical and twilight vibe of the main derivatives and the L’eau de Minuit series (although L’eau en Blanc and L’eau Jolie attempted something similar with less success). It is luminous, more austere, and less abstract, with understandable beauty, good execution, and quality ingredients. It opens with a green, energetic shock of mimosa; honestly, it smells a bit like gourmet condiments (chives, basil), though the main note is mimosa. From the first spray, you notice powdery, talc-like residues of violet. The heart has a very soft anise (a huge contrast to Star Dust Midnight) and the supremacy of violet, accompanied by peony that gives a makeup-base vibe; I don’t detect iris. It closes with violet, crunchy and assertive almond (in a gourmand sense), a sweet and dry axis of cherry, and the musk that prolongs the experience. It is a clear innovation stepping out of the house’s comfort zone, leaving behind post-modern fairy tales to embrace a spiritual and classic axis of Celtic mythology. Moving away from the bewitching magic of midnight, it creates mantras about the beauty of the morning. It is spring-like and fresh (though not citrusy), carefree, moving without being cloying, jovial but not naive. It has medium intensity, rarely overwhelming, and can sometimes disgust those close by; if overused, it can become boring. It is wonderful, with good longevity and a regular trail, although its limited versatility is not a tragedy.
It is the daughter of the original Lolita and L’Eau en Blanc, sharing similarities with both. The scent is similar to the classic but less intense, more powdery and discreet, like En Blanc. The longevity is good. For fans of the traditional Lolita, this is a more suitable version for warm days or closed, formal environments.
Daughter of the original Lolita and L’eau en Blanc, it’s more powdery and discreet, ideal for heat or formal settings. Longevity is good, and it’s a more appropriate version for everyday wear.
As a devotee of lost causes, I’m reviewing this discontinued gem from Lolita Lempicka. It keeps the DNA with anise but adds bitter almond and mimosa, making it more masculine. The trail is minimal and longevity could be better, but having this little yellow apple in my collection is a pleasure.
Kept like gold in a pouch because it’s discontinued. It doesn’t smell like L’eau en Blanc, but rather like dusty absinthe, violets, and cherries in a musky field. Addictive, unique, and long-lasting. 10/10.
My youth perfume, powdery and almond-scented, a green mystery I keep in my heart even though it no longer exists. Less sweet than the 1997 original, it’s my forbidden flower that flies high, with the 2023 version helping to keep the memory alive.
