It feels like it’s in the same line as the other Britneys, but with a bit more maturity and less sweetness. The scent is very pleasant for everyday wear. The downside is that it has the least longevity and sillage of the bunch.
It’s sweet but less so than the Fantasy line. It smells like flowers, quite good and soft, evoking ‘tenderness and charm.’ The notes I smell most are honeysuckle and linden flower (even though they aren’t listed here, they are in the Britney one). The praline makes it sweet and rich without being intrusive. As a man, it doesn’t make me feel addicted, but it invites people to get closer. Definitely for summer. A sweet, soft aroma, not cloying.
I love it! It’s been my favorite since it launched. It reminds me of my college days. It adds a fresh, sensual touch and leaves a rich trail. I’ve received many compliments. The best perfume I’ve ever heard!
I must confess, I love it a lot; it’s probably the praline note that’s in my favorites. Anecdote: I wore it to work and a woman asked me what perfume I was wearing because she loved it. Since I was embarrassed to admit it was Britney, I pretended to be sophisticated and made up a convoluted name so she’d never find it, haha, that way I didn’t lose my glamour. Aside from that, it’s pretty good and I keep using it 🙂
I had it in 2012 and loved it for being sweet and long-lasting.
I think Believe is truly unique. Compared to Fantasy, it smells more mature and less cheerful, with an almost unisex opening and a sweet, jam-like finish. It’s strange that being the least popular, I find it more sober and wearable. Perfect for autumn and winter, where the citrus notes and patchouli shine. Great for the office or casual wear, and thanks to its sophisticated notes, it holds up for galas, graduations, or weddings without issue. It has good sillage and longevity. The bottle is elegant and worth it. It’s for women 20 and up.
I liked it. It feels a bit heavy and cloying, but I absolutely love it. It’s a special fragrance that captivates at first sniff. My advice: don’t wear it every day because it gets tiring, like most sweet scents. Despite that, it’s really good 🙂
Mmm… intense candied patchouli. Excellent fragrance, sweet but doesn’t go overboard like Fantasy. Perfect for cool days.
I respect the opinion, but it smells very ‘mature,’ nothing youthful, and the scent is quite strong.
Believe has finally arrived and caught me off guard. The patchouli is strong at first, but the blend softens it significantly; it’s not that overwhelming bomb people claim it is. It smells more mature than the rest of Britney’s line, but it’s not ‘for older ladies’ as the marketing suggests. It works great for me: youthful yet perfect for a coquettish, sophisticated woman in her twenties, not a teenager. Ideal for daytime or semi-formal events. It’s sweet and fresh all at once. Highly recommended.
Believe has immense sentimental value to me, especially because it was my first blind buy and the first fragrance I bought for myself. Even though its image has changed, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. The original version had a more intense green bottle and that silver strip on the atomizer that the current one doesn’t have. I wish it stayed the same, because although its beliefs aren’t too flashy, they are constant. The original was super sophisticated, cheerful, and refreshing, almost green before entering the gourmand phase. It started with an electric shock of juicy guava and powerful tangerine. Then came a particular floral heart, a sour-sweet and bitter blend of lemon blossom and honeysuckle, something citrusy and white, far from typical tuberose and jasmine. Finally, it warmed up with amber and an impressive patchouli, between Angel and Coco Mademoiselle: aromatic but not chypre, fresh but not fruity, almost an aromatic gourmand for a minimal praline base. It had incredible longevity, lasting longer than the original Fantasy, though without as much sillage. It was minimalist but complex, evoking caged birds and first autumn leaves, though for me it’s perfect for summer mornings. The reformulation is curious: it’s not as distorted as Fantasy, but it hasn’t aged well, it has simply decayed. There’s much less tangerine; the opening is basically guava with a sour touch. The flowers were reduced, and their sour-sweet nuance is fleeting, like ghostly flashes. The patchouli is more aromatic, but the warmth of the amber dropped to highlight the praline, though it still isn’t dominant and isn’t gourmand in my opinion. The guava seems to grate due to poor handling, although the flowers stabilize it. The sillage and longevity are lower, as usually happens. It’s one of the least popular of Britney, ironically undervalued. Its limited success might be due to its aromatic style straying from the brand’s market and coinciding with key moments in her career. Philosophically, it’s more mature than Fantasy or Curious. Still, it has qualities, especially regarding its price and availability. I recommend it as a ‘trainer’ for patchouli fragrances, because although it’s central, it’s not as suffocating as in others; having experience with it helps avoid unpleasant surprises. If you already master the patchouli in Angel, you have nothing to fear with Believe, which is a tropical offspring of that shooting star.
I love this perfume, from the bottle to the box… The scent is totally different from what I usually buy, it’s exquisite! Nothing sweet, it’s fresh and inexplicable to me. It’s not for older people; I’m 18 and I use it with lots of love :’3 I love it! With this, it’s the second Britney perfume in my collection; the other is Curious, and I love it just as much because they stray from the typical Fantasy which is nothing special anymore.
I tried it and loved it. From the bird-shaped bottle (like in the singer’s photo) to that crystal clear green guava. The scent is super fruity and tropical, fresh, and lasts quite a while. The patchouli is very noticeable with that gourmand praline touch, mixed with guava and tangerine.
For me, this is the best of Britney, alongside Fantasy Hidden (high perfumery quality at an abusive price). I thought I wouldn’t like it and ordered a sample, but oh my god! It seems like the little brother of Mugler’s Angel. Upon spraying, there’s a wave of herbal medicinal, potent patchouli, and amber, but seconds later it changes completely: juicy, sweet oranges and figs, with praline that sweetens a lot to hint at its origin, and in the base, almost translucent flowers that balance without bothering or making the fragrance heavy. The longevity is good, and the sillage is less than the original but still great. I’m not sure exactly where to categorize it; it works well for formal and informal settings, day and night, though maybe not in summer because it could be overwhelming. Very delicious and very underrated; Fantasy has made shadows to perfumes from its own house with superior olfactory quality, though it depends on taste.
I bought it blind and expected something different; the reviews made me think of a creamy, fresh guava candy, but what I notice is a tropical opening dominated by orange, like those frozen tubs of candy I used to eat as a kid, like Flash. Then the patchouli comes in, my favorite part because it smells intense and natural, nothing forced like in other perfumes. I can’t find the praline even when I look for it, so for me, it’s not gourmand at all. The sillage and longevity are medium; I’ve smelled more potent things and don’t compare it to classics from other houses. I use it daily; I like it, but I don’t save it for special occasions or according to my mood like others in my collection. Of all Britney perfumes, this is the one I liked the least, though it’s not bad. The bottle is prettier than the others. I give it a 6.
This perfume stands up to great houses like Versace or Carolina Herrera. Its guava, tangerine, amber, and honeysuckle scent is glorious; I’ve worn two perfumes this year and I never get tired of it; people always ask what it is. If you like floral-fruity scents, this is totally for you. The bottle is beautiful. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin, so I always carry the 50ml version in my bag, but the sillage is good. Longevity 5, Sillage 10, Scent 10, Price 8, Bottle 10.
I bought Believe looking for my signature scent, and after two months, it’s my favorite. It was a blind buy at my usual perfumerie thanks to reviews here. It smells delicious and surprising for the price: a citrus, tropical blend with a light patchouli note. It feels light, more like Jimmy Choo than Angel. It’s cheerful yet sober and versatile, suitable for going out or work regardless of the time. The downside is that on my skin, the projection and longevity are low, barely lasting a few hours; people nearby don’t even notice it. I wish it had more sillage because the scent is rich and doesn’t get tiring; it could have been my signature if it had more strength. Greetings from Chile.
Believe was what I loved most from my blind buys; it smells citrusy but with that patchouli touch that makes it super enveloping and present. The longevity is good; it’s one of those perfumes that lasts quite a while on my skin.
A friend introduced me to this fragrance, and it’s a delight! Fruity, sweet, and not cloying at all. It’s perfect for spring and summer, with great longevity and sillage. Whenever she wore it, everyone complimented her; I begged her to let me borrow it because I loved it so much and admired her taste. I regret not buying it back then. I didn’t want to copy my friend, but I could have saved it for later. It’s frustrating that they discontinue high-quality, affordable fragrances with scents that many designers would kill for. Now Believe isn’t available in physical stores, and it’s sad to see them sell other celebrity perfumes that are just sugar water, terrible quality, and created solely for marketing with the star’s image. Maybe I’ll try to get one online if I find a reliable website that still has stock. It’s not just Fantasy that makes up Britney’s line; Believe deserved a share of that success. I hope it returns to the market someday and gets the recognition it deserves.
Believe is the second Britney perfume I like the most. It’s sweet but not cloying; it smells like green plants to me. I wear it during the day in the summer.
Cloying to the limit… it’s heavy and gave me a headache.
Another blind buy that turned out well. This perfume has nothing to do with the other Britney scents, nor is it gourmand or overly sweet. For me, it’s the perfect scent for a rainy autumn or spring day, with an earthy, herbal touch that evokes that weather. On my skin, it lasts about 5-6 hours with a soft trail.
The guava smells beastly; it shouldn’t have been in the blend.
I bought it blindly a couple of years ago because in this part of Spain it’s almost impossible to find Britney colognes that aren’t the typical fuchsia, blue, or white ones. It went badly; I expected something sweeter, but it smells like a men’s cologne, not even for my husband. It has that citrus, woody, and herbal touch, but I don’t detect any sweet notes on my skin. I don’t know if it’s because they reformulated and changed the formula.
Something weird happens with this fragrance for me: on certain days, in certain climates, or moods, it’s unbearable, but other times I love it and can’t stop smelling it. It’s very special with its many nuances, from sweet to citrus and herbal, with a masculine touch and the sensuality of patchouli. It’s a real mystery; if I recommend it, you also get compliments when wearing it, especially in summer, heat, or rain, where it’s a sensation.
Believe by Britney Spears. It launched in 2007 and arrived in Spain late that year. I passed by the El Corte Inglés counter, which had a wonderful section of the brand with their full catalog: a 200ml body souffle for 23€, a 17€ highlighter brush that was super cute and high quality. I must note it didn’t have TV ads here, unlike Curious, Fantasy, or Radiance from 2010. Since then, no new ads have dropped and coincidentally, they started reformulating perfumes, leading to the brand’s decline. The 2007 Believe was aimed at a less youthful, more mature audience. When I tried it, it was amazing: candied guava, tangerine, a citrus explosion that lasted two hours as the main note (reminded me of Calvin Klein’s Euphoria), followed by perfectly crafted amber and patchouli giving it a unique touch. The trail was long-lasting, about 7-9 hours, not more than the original Fantasy, but it set a very high bar. The original formula had an intense pine-green liquid and a heart-shaped metallic plate with the signature. I’ll never understand the reformulations; in Believe’s case, the original was a gem for its audience. I bought it last week and it retains about 70% of the original scent, but the trail and longevity have dropped to around 4 hours. Even at 20€ for 100ml (previously 57€), it’s a good deal. The citrus is boosted while amber and praline notes are lowered. It’s not what it used to be, but it’s a successful reformulation, recommended for fall and winter to feel it more, and in summer it will be very citrusy. Believe, the most mature of Britney Spears.
It opens with a citrus burst that transitions into a masculine, woody scent. It’s not sweet or fruity at all; it feels like a men’s perfume with herbal notes.
I love it! The bottle is a jewel. It smells spicy and fruity with a light citrus touch. It’s special for everyday wear.
My favorite celebrity perfume for summer, right up there with JLo’s Miami Glow. It’s quite fruity but high quality, nothing ordinary. The notes are well-balanced, like juicy fruits you’d eat at the beach. It lasts forever; I already have three bottles because it’s super cheap in Chile, especially in Iquique in the free trade zone. I always pick some up when I return. It’s youthful but nothing teenage.
At first, it smells a bit like Angel, but that fades quickly to leave a unique scent I haven’t tried before. It’s an acidic, fruity blend—probably from the guava—with a powdery, green touch. I see it as perfect for any weather, though it has short longevity and you need to be close to smell it. Still, I love it and would buy it again.
I found this beauty yesterday and I have no regrets about buying it. Both the top notes and the drydown leave me in love. When I bought it, the seller told me it was an eau de toilette, but I didn’t care; I said, ‘bring it on.’ I can say this version is for a young woman who left Fantasy 💖 and moved on to the next stage of her life with Believe 💚.
Sweet, fruity, and floral aroma, with the sweetness of ripe fruits and fruit juices. When the citrus fades, that sweetness becomes more chocolatey. The opening is more citrusy, with tangerine and guava nectar. The flowers stay in the background, though if you pay attention, you can notice them a bit. It has a green, indulgent dimension, true to the perfume’s color. Soft patchouli, vegetal tones, and earthy and soft chocolate brushstrokes. I find it suitable for informal situations or summer if you’re craving something sweet and carefree. I like it, but it lasts very little, like an hour, then it’s skin scent. What a pity because I do like the perfume, but the longevity doesn’t seem acceptable to me.
Conceptually, I like it a lot; it seems interesting to be a celebrity perfume. The blend of a fresh patchouli with a sweet-and-sour guava bathed in chocolate makes it different from everything else by B. Spears, including the nice bottle design… but what poor performance. It barely lasts 2 hours on skin. I let it macerate for a long time, and it still didn’t improve.
It’s very sharp. I liked it at first, but then it started giving me a headache. I ended up gifting it away.
This perfume came into my life for Christmas 2007. My cousin gave it to me because I’m a huge Britney fan. I loved the box because it wasn’t the typical one that opens too easily, and the bottle is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, pale green with a diamond shape, looking like a precious triangular gem. Later, I collected Britney perfumes but got tired of them coming out every year; it was exhausting. This is the first one without a ‘sister’ scent, a very rare difference from her collection, a real delight. It’s intense and strong; in my opinion, it’s for cold days. The strong notes are patchouli, guava, tangerine, and amber. It’s elegant and for special occasions. On my skin, it smells very intense. When it dries, it reminds me a bit of Mugler’s Alien, maybe due to the excess amber, but they aren’t similar. I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy, which is why I’ve had the 30ml bottle full for over 10 years and it still smells the same, incredible. The longevity and sillage are brutal. Britney should take a risk and make more perfumes like this.
I love it, but I’d take out the patchouli. It’s not unpleasant, but I and patchouli just don’t get along. I feel it adds a mature or vintage touch to almost everything. Believe smells fresh at first but evolves into something very mature that doesn’t convince me. If it just stayed in that fruity, fresh opening that evokes a late afternoon at the beach, it would be my perfect perfume, but that annoying patchouli had to be there 🙁
It’s my favorite perfume. I remember my mom gave it to me for Christmas. At first, I thought it was heavy and strong, even smelled old, and it gave me a headache. One day I decided to give it another chance, and it became my favorite. It’s different; I can’t find anything similar that lasts longer. With the reformulations, it’s no longer the shadow of the original that lasted forever and lingered on clothes. Even though people say it’s for heat, for me, it shines on rainy days 😍.
I consider it one of the best fresh fragrances out there. It’s absolutely delicious and I’d recommend it even for guys. It really smells amazing; I love it, though I think it suits younger people better.
I had high expectations and took a blind buy. The fruity, fresh opening isn’t bad, but the drydown is terrible. It reminds me of the typical ‘old man’ cologne or my grandfather’s scent. I’m not sure if it smells like Brummel or Dandy Man, but I wouldn’t use it even as a room spray.
Honestly, it’s one of my favorite fresh and green scents. I see it as super unisex, even though it’s marketed toward men. I tried it because it smells intriguing and has a unique character.
