Essencial Elixir by Natura

Natura Essencial Elixir is a fragrance that will depend a lot on the nose smelling it. The scent of this perfume is composed mainly of a sweet leather, but quite animalic. On the opening you can perceive a nuance of violets, but after a few minutes that animalic, sweet and somewhat spicy leather remains. As for the comparison with CH Men Privé, I can say that where they are most similar is in the opening. The thing is that after a few minutes, the leather in the base of Essencial Elixir becomes much more animalic than the leather of CH Men Privé. For this reason, to my nose the type of leather proposed by this Natura perfume is not fully convincing. If like me you do not like that animalic leather, it is better to go for the CH Men Privé fragrance, as long as you do not find it at an exorbitant price. If you cannot get it at a good price, but you can get this Natura perfume at a good price, it will still give you a good olfactory experience that will undoubtedly remind you of the Carolina Herrera scent. In terms of longevity, it has average perfume longevity, about 5 hours. In terms of projection, it is moderate, neither too much nor too little. That said, from my perspective it smells better in the air than up close. In short, it is not a fragrance with the best performance. If you are looking for longevity and projection, it may be better to opt for other fragrances from the Essencial line or the Homem line by Natura. And if you are looking for a Natura fragrance with leather, with better performance than this one, and in my view richer and easier to like, I recommend you go for Natura Homem Tato, which I also reviewed on its respective page. In conclusion, if we talk about quality and better scent, it will be preferable to go for CH Men Privé, although you will not get the best performance with that fragrance either and it will have a higher price. I like to think of Natura and its discontinued clones as the story of a rock band: Natura had earned some fame thanks to the covers of CH Men (Homem Verum) and CH Men Prive (this Essencial Elixir). With time and its own hits (from Essencial Oud onward), Natura decides to do without part of its repertoire, buoyed by the vanity of new prestige, taking with it those re-versions that left the brand’s repertoire. The Elixir, which had been discontinued several years ago, had a brief relaunch in 2021, which looked very much like a limited edition in which the last remnants of the original formula were being liquidated; the bottle I have is from that time and enjoys quite acceptable performance (medium projection and longevity of over seven hours). As for the smell, I can detect three chords: cardamom-lavender, leather-liquor, musk-patchouli, the latter being the one that sets it apart from CH Men Prive and brings it closer to the also extinct Hypnose by Lancome, as @mandreozzi rightly points out in his review. Apparently that 2021 reappearance was well received but poorly exploited: Natura would have launched into a not-so-fortunate reissue (reformulation) of that cover, without the magic and honesty of before, this assumption being the only explanation I can come up with given so many recent reviews complaining about its performance.

Is it discontinued?

It’s a rich, warm, enveloping perfume, somewhat sweet, amber-like and very seductive. It never fails when you need to pick something quick to go out, the leather, cognac, sandalwood and benzoin give it an interesting, rounded and embracing body. It’s not a beast in projection so it doesn’t bother and it’s not a hyper dense, resinous or annoying perfume either, so if you like warm semi-sweet perfumes it’s an excellent option. It’s in line with CH man prive, Giesso 01 (boozy and seductive). It usually gets compliments especially in intimacy or in interactions that require closeness, it gives a sensual, confident and cozy image.

Rich fragrance, bad performance.

Good fragrance, subtle, rich, interesting, it’s for close encounters as it doesn’t project much, it doesn’t have much sillage, but it’s pleasant. It has hints of liquor, sweetish.

I bought this fragrance blind because I found it at a good price and had seen good reviews. When I tried it, it seemed like a very masculine, even animalic scent to me because of the leather and cognac notes, I had never tried a fragrance of this style and I have to say that at first I didn’t like it, it felt very heavy and difficult to wear. I gave it several chances and grew to like it and appreciate it a lot. It’s a scent I would use in cold weather and at night in social settings, since because of its strength and type of scent I don’t see it for other situations. Performance is very good in longevity, projection and sillage, and besides for the affordable price it has it’s a true gem.

What a beauty, it was love at first sniff, a super delicious boozy leather, a fragrance to exude masculinity without becoming animalic or exotic, compliments with no problem, good longevity without being excellent, I love it, it made it into my top 3 of my collection. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Projection: 7/10 Compliments: 8.6/10 Box and bottle presentation: 7/10 [RECOMMENDED] I found it for 20 dollars, since it’s already discontinued and they wanted to get rid of it, how lucky I am.

Excellent perfume, you could say it’s a dupe of CH Privé but no, it has its own path. On my skin the mandarin note stands out a lot along with leather and cognac, a combination that makes me think it could work very well on summer nights. For what it costs, it’s an excellent buy compared to what CH Privé goes for.

A week ago I bought one from the 2022 batch in Argentina and I ran into a conflict with the notes declared by Natura. In the 2018 Mexico catalog it declared Top Notes: Apple, Blackcurrant, Grapefruit Heart: Violet, Leather Accords, Lavender Base: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cedar, Musk And in the Argentina 2022 catalog Top Notes: Juniper, Thyme, Cardamom Heart: Violet, Geranium, Lavender Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Moss Smelling it, I identify the note path of the Mexican version rather than those declared in Argentina. Still it’s a very good perfume and I get very good compliments, it’s a fragrance exclusively for cold or mild weather since it’s sweet, not animalic at all, compared to Essencial Oud-Vanilla And yes, for me it’s much better than CH Privé… Or not as citrusy as Lancôme’s Hypnôse Homme.

Excellent fragrance, one of Natura’s best, very similar to Giesso 01 (Argentina) and CH Privee, except for the citrus opening that doesn’t last long, then it’s that so attractive smell of pepper, liquor, and leather. An affordable and high-quality option if you like CHP, unless you can get Giesso 01 which costs less and performs the same.

I bought it blind and I admit I’m delighted with the scent and performance. For me it’s better than Essencial Oud, it’s elegant and youthful. The first sprays didn’t convince me, but then I acquired a taste for it, now it’s undoubtedly in the top of my collection.

Right at the start this is LEATHER, MUSK and liquor with a touch of grapefruit that fades fast… And from 6 hours onward it stays vanilla and musk with a touch of leather… Impressive longevity, on my skin at 12 hours, with a shower in between, I still smell it… It’s super persistent… In projection, it’s not explosive (up to a meter and a half during the first hour and then soft but steady projection for several hours) but it does leave a fairly recognizable trail up to 2 to 3 meters away, for about 3 hours. It’s a very specific perfume, DEFINITELY to wear in cold weather, winter or fall… at night or for a very specific daytime occasion, as long as it’s cold. If you don’t like the smell of leather, this is not a fragrance for you… As for value for money, I think it’s spectacular!

I bought it a month ago, I tried it, I went on vacation, I tried it again and… surprise: the blend settled and with that showed that it is really complex. The opening notes are dominated by cardamom, citrus notes play around there (the pyramid lists mandarin, grapefruit and lemon). After a few minutes the aromatic notes become noticeable, these hold for quite a long time. What is really appreciable are the middle and base notes. For now a light leather tone stands out with some aromatics, I perceive floral notes but in the background compared to the former. The base is dominated by vanilla smell, with some green note, perhaps some vetiver tone, plus cognac, patchouli and sandalwood. From what I smelled it is quite long-lasting. I don’t know how mine compares with the batches (“batches”) about which reviews were written. I could verify that their products are made in different countries, which may be the reason for differences. Judging by this one, Essencial Oud, Homem Verum and Homem DOM, the EdT and EdP from this house win by far when it comes to value for money. Honestly, a find that I am enjoying considerably.

Essencial Elixir Natura Batch 2021: I completely agree with Juantra01, those of us who own previous versions can compare its performance, and it’s true, this new version falls very short of what it was in the beginning, it’s a shame that an EDT (first version) has much superior performance to an EDP (current version). It seems they cut costs in production, making something similar but not the same. If you don’t know Essencial Elixir, get it, if you liked it and finished it, get it too, but don’t expect outstanding performance like the first versions because it doesn’t have it. As a scent: Very good. Performance: Moderate. (it projects for almost 2 hours) Longevity: 6 hours. Recommendable?: Yes and No. Greetings community.
