Something’s off with Rochas when they try to imitate that supermarket-style line from the nineties, Eau Jeune. Escapada Tropical smells like that: soapy, creamy musk with artificial fruit, soft jasmine, and raspberry. Is it bad? Maybe not if it cost ten euros. But this is Rochas, which had icons like Eau de Rochas or Byzance. Today, they only release sad flankers that smell cheap and rushed, as if no one cares about their legacy of excellence. The last ones were Absolu and Lui, already making cheap compromises. This is pure decadence; it smells like a summer edition of CK One.
Total disappointment. On my skin, it’s just mango—I can’t detect any other notes, and it lasted barely an hour with almost no sillage. Not worth it, especially coming from Rochas.
It keeps the soul of Eau de Rochas but adds fruit. Fresh for summer, though it doesn’t stand out for originality or longevity.
