Excellent fragrance… Woody and spicy, with just the right touch of pepper and soft leather, balanced lavender presence, and a light musk base… Masculine, serious, and sober. Best used in cold weather or at most on spring nights, for serious occasions, though not elegant ones. It’s quite similar to the new Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée, just a bit lighter, but without that liqueur-like whisky note and without the iris. Performance is excellent for its intended use… Moderate projection, nothing explosive, lasting 6 to 8 hours on skin and up to 12 hours on clothes. It’s SPECTACULAR and SUPER recommended, with very competitive value… Hard to beat in its price range!
I picked this up for Christmas. At first, I thought it was too office-appropriate and needed some tweaking, but now it’s one of my favorites and I can’t live without it. The longevity is top-notch, and the sillage is acceptable. It’s a very pleasant, masculine scent. Just a heads-up: people often confuse it with Colors Benetton Black EDP, but this is the Intense version and it’s an Eau de Parfum.
I think it’s a great fragrance; I loved it. It’s a masculine, spicy, woody scent, and I even perceive a light touch of vanilla, even though the notes don’t specify it. It lasted around 5 to 6 hours on my skin with three applications, which is more than enough for my needs. I recommend using it in autumn and winter, and for late afternoon or evening, even for the office, but not for daily wear. Also, it’s worth highlighting that it’s an economical perfume.
Great fragrance, I absolutely loved it. It smells masculine, spicy, woody, and I detect a hint of vanilla even though it’s not listed in the notes. Lasted 5 to 6 hours on skin with three sprays, which is enough for me. Recommended for autumn, winter, and evening, even for the office, but not for daily use. Plus, it’s very affordable.
Very good fragrance; some compare it to Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée, but honestly, this second one is superior. It has that whisky and amber essence that becomes incredible minutes after the blast, and that’s what catches your attention most. In contrast, this perfume feels more peppery; the drydown has an aroma that makes you want to reapply it many times.
Pleasant, but not promising compliments. I like that it gives the impression of seeking casual sex but lacking the money for it, sort of like being the bad boy. A good starting point for this fragrance journey.
Very synthetic; I don’t like the smell much. The price is very accessible, but in the low-cost category, there are things that cost the same and smell with higher quality. The longevity seems decent for what you pay. It reminds me of a perfume sold in a catalog magazine like Avon, Tsu, or Violetta Fabiani. It’s not a new scent; I smelled something identical back in the early 2000s. Personally, I don’t like it. I bought it blind, but if you can test it first, that would be better; maybe you’ll like it. It’s strictly for winter use.
Simple and good fragrance, a solid performer. It doesn’t have the best longevity, but it’s economical. A mix of peppercorns with a vanilla base; it’s flattering in certain situations, especially when you get close. Medium-low projection. I recommend it for informal occasions and slightly cooler climates.
Similar to Obsession Night. Vanilla, suede, and a caramel scent. Could be amber.
Spicy and powdery fragrance. It garners compliments. It has an ‘elegant’ profile. It projects better with the heat of the skin. Its target is the office or night outings. Preferably in cold climates. It’s linear from start to finish. Reminds me of a Prada Black whose name I’ve forgotten. It’s a hit, won’t disappoint you. That said, it’s not a profile everyone wants to wear, but for the low price, it’s worth it.
I bought this to compare it with Benetton Colors Man Black… and watch out, the EDP version doesn’t last or project like the EDT. This one is darker, with a rubber or tar note that works well for me. But the projection is almost non-existent; it sits right on the skin, so it’s for personal enjoyment or close-range wear… more of a night scent than a day one. It lasts about 4-6 hours on the skin. The EDT, while not crazy on projection, smells more ‘powerful’… which often happens with ‘Intense’ versions, as they are frequently the opposite. I don’t recommend buying blind; it might be your thing or not. I like it, but I’ll keep it for myself because with this, people won’t smell you coming down the street… for that, I have Moschino Toy Boy, Kenzo Homme EDT Intense, Pure XS Night, or Givenchy Gentleman EDP. Those who say it smells like Givenchy Gentleman EDP are probably confusing it with the EDT, which doesn’t remind me of it either, but the INTENSO is nothing like it… Givenchy is powdery vanilla (Orris), while INTENSO smells like rubber or tar, and I don’t detect the declared vanilla… whereas in Givenchy, it’s obvious from a mile away. I think the EDT does carry vanilla and pepper, but neither the opening nor the drydown resembles Givenchy… at least in my nose. The one that reminds me of in the drydown is Bentley for Men Intense (another one that should have been named ‘Intense’ when launched, because current batches don’t smell intense at all)… it’s liqueur-based but dries down powdery-vanilla with the difference being the alcohol. The one people say it resembles is BVLGARI BLACK… which also has that rubber or tar scent.
To be honest, the Fragrantica pyramid sounds weird: lavender, bergamot, pepper, and amber? A woody family? It doesn’t smell aromatic to me. It’s an amber bomb from start to finish. I’ve tested old-world amber like CK Obsession (unisex, sometimes masculine) and modern amber like Yves Rocher’s Ambre Noir (terrible longevity). This Benetton Intense is closer to Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée than the standard Gentleman EDP. The EDP is a sharp black amber, almost leather-like, dusted with lily, spicy, and reminiscent of Bentley For Men. The Benetton is darker, without the leather, and while the Givenchy EDP has a hazelnut sweetness I don’t like, this Benetton reminds me of 12-year-old Chivas Regal whisky. For a third of the price, the ingredient quality is equal. It’s a clean, timeless, sensual amber. Highly recommended, and much easier to enjoy than its sibling Colors Man Black, which smells animalistic and can be annoying. A classic.
I was blown away by this Benetton fragrance; the brand really pulled off a masterstroke with this one. It’s a huge step forward. The opening is deep, dark, and heavily woody, featuring that oud touch with a very masculine vibe. You get black pepper with a citrus hint. The projection is brutal for the first hour before settling into a heart of patchouli and lavender. The resins dry it down with an addictive, balsamic sweetness. It’s formal and manly. Reminds me of Gucci Absolu, and as it dries down, it feels like Givenchy EDP. If you like sweet leather and wood scents like oud or patchouli, this is the one for you. In its price range, I don’t think any other fragrance beats it today.
Fragrance with certain similarities to its predecessor, Colors Man Black. Pleasant and masculine. Since it lacks the oud wood that prevailed in the previous Black Intense, patchouli gains more vigor. Otherwise, it has medium longevity and medium-to-low projection. I use it for evening/nighttime in winter with smart-casual attire.
To be frank, the construction declared on this Fragrantica page seems strange at first: lavender and bergamot with pepper and an amber base? Woody-spicy family? I don’t think it has much aromatic character. This is an amber bomb from start to finish, and what amber. I’ve tried several fragrances in that family focused on resins. CK Obsession for Women is quite polarizing but leans more unisex or even slightly masculine, so I’d dare to use it occasionally. On the other hand, a good contemporary amber is Ambre Noir by Yves Rocher; as Charlotinable says, it has good construction but its longevity is so low it’s obscene. The point is that a modern amber is what Benetton Colors Man Black Intense and Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée present, the latter being quite close to the Benetton. To be frank, this Benetton doesn’t remind me AT ALL of Givenchy Gentleman EDP; that one is a very sharp black amber, almost reaching leather (thanks to balsams and South American resins like Tolu and Opoponax), slightly powdery with iris root, a bit boozy, and strongly spiced. It leans towards darker resins and a construction I consider closer to leather, calling it a youthful version built with other notes from Bentley For Men (both created by the same perfumer). On the other hand, I find the Benetton has greater similarity to Givenchy Gentleman EDP Reserve Privée, which I frankly find unpleasant due to a hyper-sweet accord between amber and hazelnuts, but enjoyable for its amber and Scotch whisky side, a combination that reminded me of 12-year Chivas Regal, one of my preferred liquors. And to be frank, although the Benetton costs a third of what Givenchy does, I find its construction more pleasant to my taste and better value for money, as it feels like it uses the same quality of ingredients as Firmenich (everything Puig uses is Givaudan). Similarly, I don’t consider it to have a drop of leather. As a final line, it would seem excellent as a Christmas gift, even better to use it that same night, and I find it easier to like than its sister Colors Man Black, which has an animal tone that can be unpleasant to inexperienced noses. A clean, straightforward amber is one of the most sensual and traditional things in perfumery, totally timeless. Benetton Colors Man Black Intense highly recommended.
For just $18, this is insane. If you mix Givenchy Gentleman EDP, L’Homme Ideal Intense by Guerlain, and a base of Man in Black, it’s very close. What a brutal perfume for $18? It’s a gem. Scent rating: 7.5/10. Longevity is a bit weak: 8 hours on skin, fading to skin-only by hour 5, and projects well only during the first hour. Standard performance: 6/10.
All I’ll say: DO NOT BUY BLINDLY. It’s not an easy, crowd-pleasing, or wearable scent. It’s strictly masculine, nothing unisex. This is for men. It’s not a mass-appeal fragrance. I see it as for personal enjoyment. Those who like it will love it; those who don’t will hate it. It has an alcoholic opening that fades quickly in 2-3 minutes. After that, despite being budget-friendly, the notes don’t feel cheap. In reality, it smells like a higher-priced fragrance. It seems made for fresh/cold climates. Under no circumstances for temperate/warm weather. I won’t talk about performance because I only tested it for one day, insufficient to be objective. I don’t like it; it’s very different from its sister Colors Man Black EDT (that one is exquisite). More so, I wouldn’t say it’s bad. There’s something that doesn’t convince me, which is why I don’t recommend buying it blindly.
For just $18 that I got it for, it’s absolutely insane. If you want an idea, mix Givenchy Gentleman EDP with L’Homme Ideal Intense by Guerlain, and from a distance, a base of Man in Black… what a beast for $18! It’s a masterpiece of goodness. It’s ambered, spiced, woody, and balsamic; the note breakdown doesn’t do justice to the nuances. For me, it’s a gem, and its price is crazy. Easily, this scent could be bottled by Givenchy, Dior, or Prada and sold for over $90. Aroma 7.5/10. Performance is weak, but on my skin it reaches 8 hours; after 5 hours it’s skin-scent only and projects well for the first hour, then fades. Standard performance 6/10.
Friend gabi0nce, if you didn’t know, this is a decent forum where everyone shares personal opinions with respect, not with the insults and inappropriate language you use. I’m sorry the Fragrantica moderators didn’t delete your out-of-place comment. A little respect and education is asked for if you have it, please.

The first time I tried it with my less-trained nose, I hated it. Today I gave it another chance and I LOVE it. It’s not a head-turner, but it’s a rich scent for cold days. I wish it lasted longer like Colors Man Black, but hey, for the price, you can’t ask for more.
Rich perfume! 100% masculine, spiced, and ambered. Highly recommended for aroma, performance, and price. Reminds me of Gentleman EDP but it has its own path. It meets the mark on longevity, but you can forgive it for the price. For fresh days and nights. Rating: 8.0/10.
Excellent fragrance with a 100% masculine, sexy, elegant vibe and great quality, plus it comes with a top-notch atomizer. Smells spicy and intense with black pepper, leather, lots of patchouli, and lavender. Could be a flanker of Bvlgari Man in Black or Givenchy Gentleman EDP. Lasts 6 hours on skin (the last two hours cling very well); on clothes it reaches 7 hours with the wind at your back and projects well in the first hour. Ideal for autumn and non-freezing winter days. Unbeatable quality-to-price ratio. I recommend the Special Set that includes a decant; it helps it last longer.
Excellent fragrance, 100% masculine, sexy, elegant, and high quality. It comes with a luxury atomizer. It smells spicy and intense with black pepper, leather, patchouli, and lavender. It could be a flanker for Bvulgari Man in Black or Givenchy Gentleman EDP. Lasts 6 hours on skin (fading to skin-only at the end), reaches 7 hours on clothes with a tailwind, and projects moderately for the first hour. Ideal for autumn and non-freezing winters. Unbeatable quality-to-price ratio. I recommend the special set with a decant so it lasts longer.
Excellent perfume.
Intense and dark for men. Nothing for kids or indecisive tastes. I agree it’s in the style of Bvlgari Man in Black but with more punch than the current washed-out version. It opens potent and spicy, then turns into a luminous, nocturnal, elegant, and resinous scent without being serious or excessively mature. Surprising for the price, just like its cousin Colors Man Black. Ideal for winter and daytime since I don’t see much projection for wild nights. A low-cost option that needs to be tested on skin. It has an DNA that could be from an Arabic perfume but vibrates Western. It dares to be dense without using dark woods. Longevity is decent but it has other strong points. Try it several times, better with a sample, to judge the real quality of this Benetton. Excellent price, good aroma.
It smells very similar to L’Homme Ideal Intense in its dry down. It’s sweet and soft, but it doesn’t last long if you apply only a few sprays.
For the first few months, it smells like new diapers, terrible, not even for a gift. It oxidates a bit and becomes usable until it’s actually good; some notes aren’t delightful, but it improves from a -1 to a 7, and depending on taste, even an 8. It doesn’t last long or project much, but what do you expect for $14 that left me with a fresh tester?
Every nose is different, every person is a world… cliché phrase but true. I thought it had excellent value for money, the black bottle and the aroma… wow, it feels high quality, dark and woody, I can even smell a note of bitter coffee. It doesn’t resemble Man in Black; it takes another path, like a mix between Ted Lapidus Black Soul Imperial and Givenchy Gentleman EDP. It doesn’t have much projection but it grabs attention; it’s extremely masculine and full of character. One of my favorite budget options, I bought the 200ml on sale at Notino to have as a backup.
It’s not for me; I just haven’t gotten used to this scent yet. It’s intense and purely masculine, nothing youthful. Don’t let the price fool you; for me, it’s hard to wear, so don’t buy blind.
Not for me; I just can’t get used to this scent yet. It’s intense and strictly masculine, nothing youthful. Don’t let the price fool you; from my perspective, it’s a difficult scent to wear, so don’t buy it blindly.
If you had to define this fragrance by breaking reality and science, the word would be: Sex.
Excellent fragrance for the price, literally if you’re looking for winter perfume with great value, this should be on your list. It’s very masculine but with a youthful touch that makes it special.
It’s very strong and lasts a long time. Perfect if you like the scent, but it’s not for me. And watch out, don’t buy blind, because you won’t be able to hide such a strong smell.
If you want to smell like an expensive fragrance, like Man in Black or Spicebomb original, but for a fraction of the price, this is for you. It smells dark, spicy, nocturnal, and dense, but very pleasant if you like oriental scents. For the price, it can’t be beat.
It smells strong like the buzz from your cousin’s wedding, dark as a new moon, and cheap as a corner store empanada. But it’s worth it; you need it in your collection. It doesn’t work for me (I’m 30), but it does for my dad (58), and sometimes I wear it for him. If you’re over 40, it’s cold, you’re going out at night, and you smoke a pipe, you’ve got to wear this, lol.
I tried it at the supermarket and what a surprise! It smells spectacular for a price you won’t believe. I used to wear Benetton HOT and COLD from the 90s, I left the brand years ago, but now I’m going to buy this one that smells expensive—it’s a delight.
