Descripción
TO BE The King by Police is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2013, the nose behind this composition is Pierre-Constantin Guéros. The top notes unfold with nutmeg, cardamom, cedar, lemon, and bay leaf; the heart reveals lavender, cashmere wood, amber, and hyssop; while the base notes settle on a woody register with tonka bean, orange blossom, and resins.

Recommended fragrance with great longevity, featuring caramelized sweet notes and lemon. It really benefits from the caramel notes. The bottle is a black skull, a bit sinister, but I like it; Police is innovating with quality details. I bought it for daily wear, but thanks to its staying power and compliments, it’s also perfect for dates or night outs. A summer and spring scent. Highlight its affordable price: 30 euros in Spain for 125ml, also available on Amazon. Definitely the best perfume from the Police house.
This black skull isn’t what it seems: it’s not dark or rough. It’s sweet with a citrus note, potent right out of the bottle and settles nicely on the skin. It stays sweet and strong, so I suggest not over-applying. It feels synthetic but not excessively so (how many perfumes aren’t these days?). Police TBT King doesn’t remind me of anything else; it’s a new scent for my nose. The bottle is gorgeous with its matte black and gold crown. In short, it’s a rich, potent aroma lasting 6-8 hours. At $20, it’s worth trying. My rating: 8/10.
It’s a woody, sweet fragrance with a citrus twist. A pleasant masculine scent that’s interesting and enjoyable, ideal for cold weather or nights; it might be too much in the heat. Longevity is very good, as Police often fall short here, but this one lasts well with moderate projection. It creates a personal scent bubble.

I bought this for my boyfriend because it seemed like a youthful, masculine scent. At first, I smelled alcohol and thought I’d made a mistake, but it faded quickly, giving way to something sweet, warm, and youthful. It’s rich and sweet without being cloying. The sillage isn’t huge, but you can catch it at times. Reminds me of Le Male’s softer, more affordable version. Recommended.
Let’s be honest, who hasn’t bought a perfume just for the bottle? I know content is king, but having a bottle that looks good alongside your collection isn’t a bad thing. For me, this hits the 3 ‘B’s: Beautiful, Beautiful, and Cheap. And TO BE THE KING, personally, stands out among the rest of the Police lineup.
It’s a bit too dark for younger guys, but lacks the heaviness of an older man’s Le Male. It shares some similarities, yet the evolution is distinct. Perfect as a gift for 20-year-olds to graduate from fresh scents to something more serious. As an Eau de Toilette, the longevity and sillage are decent, and the price is a steal at Notino for 125ml.
