Incredibly this fragrance made the same impression on me as the 1697 Frapin: more than unisex it’s feminine and has a boozy cocktail vibe. But unlike the 1697 Frapin this is much more floral. I detected a bit of musk though it’s an undeclared note. It wasn’t extraordinary or bad to me. I reiterate: it’s for women.
I didn’t know much about Champaca but I was dying to try it… it smells amazing I loved it! You can smell that special floral note that stands out like a jeweled crown among the others. However I think the ones who really shine are the broom cognac and vanilla; jasmine is also significant. There’s a sweet accent I attribute to candied chestnut and orchid. The opening feels a bit smoky sweet and boozy in a burst that made me feel agitated but I confess I was very comfortable… it even made me smile. This is truly an intoxicating perfume without being excessive… but please don’t let people think you can get drunk from the alcohol or that you’ve been drinking… no that’s not what I mean hehe… I’m speaking figuratively because it makes me feel intoxicated in a good way: happy uninhibited a bit excited and euphoric. As minutes and hours pass (let’s take for granted that these Tom Fords are long-lasting it’s a fact) things get even better because the flowers feel exquisite combining warmly and pleasantly with my skin. It’s also a voluptuous perfume that draws attention and captivates without a hint of vulgarity… like when everyone desires you vehemently without you needing to wear a plunging neckline. It’s for when you’re wearing silk stockings fine lingerie red lipstick some cherished jewelry… when you’re in the mood for a romantic passionate and erotic evening or just a special date (but please nothing for clubs). It’s not for being the life of the party but for making people think of you after an encounter. Although I could wear it to the supermarket I admit using it for daily life might be a bit of a waste; unless you have a very busy social life identify strongly with its scent… or have some special interest in mind. It’s overwhelming! For special women confident feminine complete. It doesn’t smell the same at the start as in the dry-down phase when it settles into something subtler and more floral. I agree it seems better for women… unless it’s the type of man like Joaquín Cortés who is masculine and sexy in tight clothes with long hair and silk mesh t-shirts… that kind of overwhelming man who just by walking by awakens emotions. The feminine image that comes to mind is the stunning type even if just out of bed who captivates with a look and if she puts on makeup… Imagine a Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s but not interpreted by the fragile Audrey Hepburn but by someone more exuberant carnal and striking like Monica Bellucci Eva Mendes or Kate Beckinsale. Thanks Yulieta and Shiseido.
It’s a sweet boozy fragrance starting with vintage floral talcum powder. It’s voluptuous has great body and a heavy sillage if you overapply; after two hours it smells like nuts and almonds. It’s rich but I think it’s more suited for women—I tried it with a friend the same day and it worked better on her. It projects an image of maturity and feminine strength. The downside: in my opinion it’s overpriced. For 5 pesos or $250 it’s excessive; it’s not worth it unless you’ve already tried it and love it. Otherwise buying blind is risky.
