Violet, lily, hyacinth, narcissus, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and tulip… what a fusion. According to the official site, Mathilde Laurent says this fragrance was inspired by the scent of a diamond. Personally, I haven’t had the opportunity to own one; if anyone could tell what a precious stone smells like, which I imagine is odorless, it would be ideal to explain, because to me it seems curiously enigmatic. Without trying it, I intuit it must be like any perfume from this house: neat and elegant. As I understand it, it’s an iridescent scent that sparkles with the seven colors of the rainbow, which is why a flower was chosen in its respective tone. I’m eager to try it; there’s little time left before attending the Cartier house training on November 6th to share my opinion.
Absolutely delicious. A contemporary floral, well-structured and harmonious. On my skin, it highlights a scent of violets and bulbous plants, acidic, aquatic… very fresh. It evokes fresh flowers in a pond. It’s ideal for young women, for work, or for going out for a walk with friends. What surprises is its performance: considerable and wide sillage without being overwhelming. It’s fresh at first and becomes acidic afterwards. Nothing like the sweet perfumes that dominate perfumeries. Good work by Cartier. A daytime and luminous fragrance.
Fabulous perfume. A unique floral, unlike any other. Luminous is the perfect word. You can feel the evolution of the notes; sometimes it smells more like one, other times like another, but always with that well-crafted base blend. I agree with the previous ones: clean, elegant, daytime. It’s tender and feminine. It’s like walking past a florist in the most luxurious part of Paris and feeling that breeze for two seconds. I went to the perfumery two days ago thinking of buying an autumn perfume, something more ‘fruity-chouli’ for the season, but none captivated me, so I decided on Carat. Still, I stick with its sibling Baiser Volé (I bought both), though I love both. The rest of the Cartier line doesn’t suit me at all; it was a coincidence that these two are a delight. Great Mathilde Laurent.
I want to buy it. A well-made floral, soft, fresh, elegant, and luminous. It smells super natural, like putting your nose into a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hadn’t tried anything by Cartier, but this fragrance impressed me with its quality. It’s one of those that puts you in a good mood the moment you put it on. Plus, to have such a beautiful and soft scent, it has excellent longevity. I see it as very versatile. It’s inspired by the smell a diamond would have… this scent reminds me of the goddess Demeter, of the fields and spring.
Finally, Carat by Cartier is in our stores. Although I had read so much in ‘Follow the Panther,’ on forums, and in videos, nothing beats trying it. I agree with YouTuber Isa Ramírez: right after spraying, it smells like cream, so much so that before owning it, it triggered my olfactory memory of My Name by Trussardi (which smells like Nivea), but in Carat, after minutes and hours, the flowers come into full bloom, marking a clear difference. It’s an incredible iridescent fragrance: the seven flowers alternate, creating a mental mirage like the light changes in a diamond. Mathilde Laurent has perfectly captured the concept of a precious jewel. Olfactorily, the ylang-ylang moves to hyacinth, then to violet, rotatingly, while in the background, the citrus and fruity notes blend with greens, pear, and bergamot. In conclusion: fresh, luminous, neat, and elegant, a faithful representative of Cartier for the 2018 Miss Spring competition, indisputably the Queen of Flowers. P.S.: Carat is totally original; it doesn’t resemble anything except for the opening with My Name by Trussardi, but then they diverge: Trussardi becomes balsamic and warm, while Carat evolves into a green floral. Scent: 10/10, Sillage: 08/10, Longevity: 09/10.
I love florals, so I went excited to try it, and no, nothing. On my skin, the green notes are too potent; it smelled like I had bathed in herbs. I’d classify it as more green than floral.
Exquisite.
On paper, it’s a tender, modern, luminous musky floral. I love it. I didn’t find that airy green base note found in So Pretty or La Panthère, nor anything resembling Baiser Volé or Anaïs Anaïs, nor that much-talked-about pear. I perceive it as a feminine version of L’Envol due to its soapy, clean, and distinctive musk; even the mimosa nuance recalls the honeyed air of both, which are delicious counterparts. The lily adds a youthful and elegant touch; the overall scent is cheerful, formal, extroverted, clean, and dense. The hyacinth is very natural and realistic, almost like a potted plant, and in the mid-phase it shines so much it gives me joyous jumps, although it often gets overshadowed. It’s a collection of many creamy, velvety flowers in an ultra-soapy and clean composition, not fresh. It’s not groundbreaking, but very pretty, white, refined, and versatile. A great option to stand out.
I tried it today and on the skin, it starts as an incredibly delicious pear: clean, fresh, bright, half-floral half-fruity. After 3-4 hours, the pear almost disappears, leaving a sweet trail of melon and an undefined flower. It reminds me of Acqua di Gioia, but Carat is more acidic while Aqua is sweeter. Since I already have the Armani one, I won’t buy this.
It’s a delight. It has that Cartier style that never fails. Wonderful.
First impression was a bit cold. With the theme of emulating diamonds, I expected something brighter, but I find it dull. It conveys no opulence at all; the flowers are rather shy.
The first time I smelled it, I was drawn in by its peculiar scent. I didn’t recall anything similar; it seemed green, like peas, but not strong or citrusy. When I tried it on my skin, it became more feminine and lasted longer, until I asked a sales associate for a vial and started wearing it for several days. What a marvel! I wore it during the day, at night, and even to sleep. It’s a scent that hooks you: fresh but not citrusy, floral but very airy. You can’t identify a single note; it’s clean without being soapy or powdery, sweet but not gourmand. It’s very feminine and sparkling, puts you in a good mood, and creates an aura around you. It makes me feel special. People compare it to Trussardi’s My Name, and it has that style, but this one is less heavy and lacks that sticky note the other has. I find it delicious and already have it in my collection. Lasts five or six hours with medium projection. If you like overpowering perfumes, this isn’t for you, but if you want to smell great at medium and close range and have people want to lean in to sniff, this is the one.
100% green-floral for formal city wear. Once it settles, it doesn’t evolve; it stays balanced for quite a while, more than six hours. It’s simplistic in a good way; I think it’s for people over 35. Although it has pear, it’s not sweet, just that creamy fruit touch. Harmonious and unsurprising.
The mouillette seemed like a clean floral to me, with a light white flower, slightly green, watery, and powdery, but in perfect balance. On my skin, however, it smelled like sweaty armpits. Must be the pH.
I’m a huge fan of mimosa and yellow flowers; for me, it’s a mood-lifting scent. It’s rare but delicious, almost like amber. I found it for that note and didn’t make a mistake: I smelled the mimosa from start to finish. It’s soft, feminine, naturally sweet, musky-floral, and creamy. It makes people lean in to sniff, although in these pandemic times, that’s not ideal. Scent 10/10, longevity 7/10, projection 8/10.
Bought it today. It’s green, floral, clean, and unsweetened, ideal for those summer days when you want to feel like you just stepped out of the shower. I loved it; it’s perfect for taking a break from heavy perfumes.
Reminds me a lot of Yves Rocher’s Ming Shu Fleur Rare. They aren’t clones or identical, but it’s that style I’ve been missing for years: fresh, aquatic, serene, and beautiful. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long and stays very close to the skin.
So delicious! I love it. It’s something you don’t see in the market: floral and green, with medium longevity and moderate sillage. When it seems like it’s gone, it’s like a breeze, and there’s Carat. I see it more for spring or summer, though it can be worn anytime; it’s a daytime scent. It’s super refined and delicate. Edit: it has nothing sweet, it’s a pure floral bouquet with a green touch.
Smells good with a very subtle lemon note, but the florals dominate, especially the white ones. Lasts about 4 hours on my skin, doesn’t leave much of a trail, and honestly, I wouldn’t buy it again.
What beauty, elegance, subtlety, and wonder. It cheers me up and lifts my spirit. In my opinion, exclusive for spring-summer. Sillage is almost enigmatic; suddenly a good smell reaches you and you think, ‘Is there a flowering tree nearby?’. You can tell it has mimosa and I love it. It’s in the same line as Baiser Vole but they aren’t alike. Baiser Vole is more floral; I prefer Carat, which is more musky. Here there’s no sugar, only flower nectar with exquisite delicacy. It’s in my cart for the next purchase.
Fresh fruity, after a while it becomes greener/herbal but with body and a floral base. I liked it more at 15 minutes than at first. It’s good! Worth it, rich, and special for hot days.
I really like it: a cheerful floral-fruity scent with a marked pear note. Medium longevity, stays close to the skin from the start. If I have to lean in to smell it, my partner doesn’t even notice; my mother, who always sniffs me out, only detected it yesterday half an hour after application. I imagine it’s non-existent for people less close to you. Fortunately, I only bought 30 ml. EDIT: In the end, it convinced me; people even complimented me when I applied it generously. I spent the last ml with regret and plan to restock.
To me, it’s a bouquet smelling of herbs on freshly cut stems, nothing sweet, can be heavy at first. After 15 minutes, the herbal notes settle and it becomes a fresh, clean floral, pleasant for hot days. It’s not an easy scent, but distinct from current candy-like fragrances, which I appreciate. I started liking it after trying it; don’t buy blind. Sillage and longevity on my skin are approx. 3 hours.
I was looking for something fresh for elegant summer wear, tried it on a strip and was surprised: clean, elegant green floral. But on skin, it changed completely: intense floral, almost overwhelming, it gave me a headache. It’s not bad, it’s exquisite, but I’d save it for fall/winter. On dry skin it resembles L’ Eau de Issey.
I love it: fresh flower stems in a vase, green and crisp. Low sillage, relatively good longevity. Perfect for working in enclosed spaces without bothering others; an aroma that accompanies without invading. I feel fresh, clean, and elegant, far from bakery sweets. The opening didn’t excite me, but after 20 minutes it’s a wonder, with no further evolution. What you smell there is what lasts. I’d buy it again for spring-summer, ideal for the office.
At first I thought it didn’t last, but now I know it does: it’s a sun of absolute delicacy, so soft even a baby would be comfortable in it. Pure, luminous, discreet, and it lasts a long time. Softness and warmth of white wool. Adorable for spring/summer days and nights of innocent elegance.
Diamonds or Triumph? Cartier created Carat with that question in mind. It’s a jewel in perfume land, a perfect balance for being discreet yet making a statement. Elegant, perfect for special days. I wore it to my graduation and remember it fondly; I’ll use it again for memorable moments. Highly recommended for a daytime wedding (why not evening?).
I was surprised buying it blind: a delicate, fresh, clean floral aroma that doesn’t bother anyone. Dry down is sweet without being cloying; it’s a classy burst of white flowers. Nothing in my collection resembles it. Elegant, fresh, and current. Beautiful box. Moderate longevity and sillage, weak projection. Ideal for summer/spring if you don’t like florals; if you do, don’t buy it, friend.
Bought Carat and yes, it’s pricey, but it smells amazing. It fades quickly and since I’m not an expert, in the end it just smells like cilantro.
I didn’t like it at first. I don’t like florals, and this seemed shocking and strong to me. Then I started getting used to it, ending up in a love/hate relationship that confuses me. It seems elegant and formal but with a touch of audacity. Sadly, it doesn’t last long, but it complements my skin well. It’s elegant and sensual. I like it a lot.
It’s my favorite designer perfume, so elegant that I use it as a signature with any outfit without losing style. It lasts a long time, although I think it depends on pH; on my skin and clothes, it lasts until the next day. 10/10
They gave it to me as a sample and I loved it. It’s floral, one of my favorites; it transports me and is my go-to perfume. I detect all the notes: pear, bergamot, greens, hyacinth, and violet appearing later with musk, leaving a gorgeous scent. Super feminine, sensual, and magical. Longevity is medium, but it’s fine with reapplication. The trail and longevity are moderate; it’s not heavy. I adore it. The bottle is sturdy, beautiful glass. Cartier is Cartier, and you can tell.
If you walk into a florist shop with violets, mimosa, hyacinths, and lilacs, cut the bouquet, and put it in crystal-clear water, that’s what this perfume smells like in every facet. You can feel the flowers, with mimosa standing out with exquisite sweetness. Violet, ylang-ylang, and fresh supré. I thought it would be greener because the opening notes are those, but it’s not bothersome. It doesn’t feel citrusy or salty. It’s a divine perfume with excellent longevity. Perfect for hot climates, summer afternoons, or autumn, or when you step out of the shower and want to feel clean and neat for hours. A 10/10 fragrance from Cartier!
An olfactory spectacle. It screams class and good taste with a trail that doesn’t offend. Excellent longevity on my skin. A pear bathed in green notes stands out, mixed with an unidentified floral, perhaps the combination of all of them; excellent balance. I love it.
At first spray, the green aspect seems sharp and even uncomfortable, but once it dries, realistic flowers emerge that I’ve rarely perceived. It’s a fine, luxurious, and classy garden. An olfactory marvel.
Green pear and floral from the start, in a luxury bottle that reflects light. It evokes discreet, timeless elegance; it’s delicate, neat, and classy. It refreshes softly in spring and summer. I struggle to distinguish its notes because as it settles, the intensity drops significantly, leaving a linear, clean, soapy aroma. Even with heavy application, its longevity and projection are scarce; you have to reapply. I bought it blindly as ‘green,’ but it’s more floral pear than green. The pear stands out so much it reminds me of Annick Goutal’s Petite Chérie, but less sweet. Pleasant, but I don’t love it. Its floral development creates ambivalence in me, though I’ll keep using it to see how it performs in different climates. 22/05/25: In autumn, longevity is poor. The scent turns acidic and the floral phase becomes unpleasant. Very intense yellow flowers overwhelm me. At night, the soapy side takes over and the pear feels relaxing, extending the post-shower cleanliness sensation. 12/10/25: Finally, it didn’t convince me, so I gifted it to my mom because I couldn’t stand its potent floral scent with that acidic, soapy undertone. She loved it and she’s 75 years old xD
Cartier de Cartier: It’s a masterpiece, as if every floral note is crafted with artisanal precision. Inspired by purity and brilliance, it stands out for its elegance. Gifting it to my wife was like giving her a treasure that reflects her inner light. Clean, floral, and brilliant, it shines like high jewelry. Designed for those who know beauty lies in pure details. An olfactory jewel!
Reminds me of Boucheron’s Place Vendôme for women. The scent is like sharpening colored pencils.
Incredible and addictive. It’s the only one that smells like real pear, not candy. Fresh, green, floral notes with a creamy touch. Balanced and challenging, it’s flawless.
