Rituals has few perfumes, but they all have a high concentration (they are eau de parfum, not eau de toilette), and although they have few notes, they are very well combined. Generally, they are intense but not overbearing, avoiding spicy notes that sting. Bleu Byzantin is equally oceanic and mentholated, with a very pleasant presence of juniper. It’s sporty, virile, and leaves an addictive trail that makes you turn around if someone wears it. A masculine and blue fragrance with good longevity and projection, ideal for everyday wear and young men or middle-aged men. Recommended for those who want something fresh but not citrusy.
Great value for money. Smells super unisex because it’s fresh and uncomplicated. Very versatile and all-rounder, suitable for any age. Perfect for daily wear, casual outings, work, or college since it doesn’t overpower. Seems like a good gift because the scent is pleasant and easy to wear. Works in any season. It’s a blend of soft mint and pine. It doesn’t evolve much; it smells the same for a few minutes after application until the intensity fades. It’s nothing groundbreaking, easy to understand with its three notes, and you might recognize it as something you already know. Still, it smells good and the price for the scent is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by Rituals’ men’s fragrances; I expected much worse, but the longevity and scents are good. I give them a passing grade 🙂
Great value for the price. Smells fresh and simple, perfect for any age or occasion: daily wear, work, or college. It’s not overpowering, making it an ideal gift. A soft mint and pine blend that stays consistent from start to finish, just losing a bit of intensity. Easygoing, no surprises, but it smells good. The price per ounce is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by Rituals’ men’s fragrances; I expected much worse, but the longevity and scent are solid. Approved 🙂
Very similar to Davidoff Cool Water, but slightly less mentholated, though the mint is still quite noticeable. Perfect for a hassle-free daily wear. The projection is average, and while longevity isn’t amazing, the price is unbeatable—I got the 50ml bottle for €17.95 on a promotion. Edit: There’s a note that reminds me of YSL Y EDP.
Smells very much like Davidoff Cool Water, but with less mintiness, though the mint is still noticeable. Perfect for everyday wear without any drama. Projection is average, but the longevity isn’t the best. Great value: the 50ml bottle was on promo for 17.95€. Edit: there’s a nuance that reminds me of YSL Y EDP.
Tested this afternoon and it’s a 100% dupe of CK One Summer 2014.
It reminds me a lot of Cool Water. I’m only wearing it in summer and find it very unisex if you’re a casual girl… but not if you’re very frilly with porcelain nails. I really like it; the projection doesn’t last long, but that’s normal for this type of fragrance. I love it and think it will become one of my staples.
Reminds me a lot of Cool Water. I only wear it in summer, and it’s very unisex if you’re a casual girl; if you’re a total butterfly with porcelain nails, not so much. I really like it, though the projection doesn’t last long, which is normal for this type of fragrance. I think it’s going to be one of my favorites.
The first time I smelled it, it really grabbed my attention: it sounded like a resurrected U Blue, my teenage perfume, so it gave me a whole Proustian memory. Then, as it settles, the differences become clear: it smells more soapy and less sweet.
The first spray grabbed my attention strongly: it felt like a resurrected U Blue. It was the perfume of my adolescence, long discontinued, so it gave me a real Proustian memory. Then, as it settles, the differences become clear: more soapy and less sweet.
Smells very pleasant. The green-aquatic style with a sweet note reminds me of Polo Deep Blue (which I also own), but with mint instead of mango. Maybe a bit more formal and natural. An excellent choice as a fresh and versatile fragrance. Just the right amount of sweetness for moderate temperatures or work, without being overwhelming even in the heat. It projects moderately for a couple of hours and lasts 6-7 hours on my skin, which is another plus.
Bleu Byzantin: Green, aromatic opening with juniper berry. Middle: the juniper fades into a rich aquatic mint (slightly sweet), paired with pine. Dry down: the aquatic mint persists while the pine intensifies, creating a full-bodied yet unobtrusive green scent. Projection and longevity: around 3-4 hours of projection and about 6 hours of longevity. Verdict: Green, woody, and slightly sweet. A heat-focused fragrance with rich, lasting green notes thanks to the pine. My favorite from Rituals—a simple note combination that evolves beautifully and delivers excellent results. Since the formula reformulation a few years ago, the bottle looks different and the scent has softened noticeably, while the price has gone up. Still, it’s worth buying: versatile for any occasion, easy to wear, even if the pine note might turn some people off.
There’s an English review that defines it perfectly: it’s the blue perfume for people who don’t like blue perfumes. I got it as a gift years ago, and I’ve gone through three bottles since then. It’s not the same as it was in its first version. I’ve tried other blue perfumes to see if they convey the same vibe, but I’m not quite sure what they have going for them; maybe Calone, but they really throw me off. This Bleu Byzantin is simple, straightforward, and beautiful. It smells blue, it smells green, it communicates exactly what it wants to, and it evokes the peace of summer, even if you wear it at any other time of year.
