Ambered sandalwood, floral, and sweet with a woody touch that isn’t too youthful; it smells distinguished. It’s very versatile and I see it as ideal for cold moments.

This perfume screams cherry and raspberry! On my skin, it dominates for most of the time. It’s warm but doesn’t last as long as I’d like. I have another Hugo Woman Extreme and I feel a similar base, like the brand’s signature, but it’s not the same because this one is herbal. I bought it blind based on the notes and loved it. I consider it sweet but not gourmand, not unisex, a bit citrusy, and with personality. I’m very open to scents, I have one for every mood, and I don’t have a signature perfume.

It doesn’t seem like a citrus perfume at all. You can tell there’s orange, yes, but it’s a ripe, juicy orange, very sweet, loaded with vanilla and sandalwood; more like a dessert than fresh fruit. It’s woody/vanillic with a touch of fruity/floral (creamy white flowers, I suppose neroli) and a tiny spicy kick in the opening from ginger, though it’s not sharp or persistent. It’s gorgeous and doesn’t need to last 24 hours or project a hundred meters to shine. It invites you to get closer without overwhelming anyone. It’s the kind of perfume I use when autumn shows off its leg: it wraps you just enough on days with diminishing hours of light and the sun fighting with the clouds. It makes itself felt without suffocating. Longevity is more than acceptable if you apply the right number of sprays (two aren’t enough): about 6 hours and moderate sillage. I feel it in bursts and know it’s perceived without being invasive; I’ve received positive comments. Although I think all perfumes are unisex, if we have to consider standards, it’s more feminine due to that floral/fruity load and the accompanying vanilla. I wouldn’t use it in summer; its ideal time is autumn and winter. Since it’s not invasive, it’s versatile, though it wouldn’t be my first choice in very formal circumstances. For daily wear, day and night, and semi-formal occasions, it works very well. In Spain, it’s easy to find for around €30 for 90ml, an economical option to consider.

I ran into this perfume again after many years, and the truth is I remembered it very differently. Before, it was more powerful, oriental, and autumnal/wintery. Now on my skin, it’s a fruity citrus with sweet touches, slightly spiced by ginger, a bit vanillic, and above all with a very creamy woody base, which is my favorite part. As a scent, I liked it, but it has little to do with what I remembered. I don’t see it as especially rare or opulent. The longevity hovers around 4-5 hours, with soft projection and sillage. At today’s price, it doesn’t seem like a bad perfume; there are worse performances at higher prices. Just keep that in mind: the yield has dropped and the scent has changed too.

It was a blind buy and I loved it, just like my mom who ended up using it. She says she always receives many compliments, so I think it will be her signature perfume for a good while.

Despite being for women, it’s a bit unisex, strong, not sweet, a bit citrusy, powdery floral, and with a fine wood. It’s a different and sensual perfume, not for a good little girl, but for an empowered and wealthy woman. I see it for night outings. Longevity, wow, 20 hours, good sillage, it stays on clothes until washed and on hair too.

What a pity I didn’t try the original. I have the reformulated version, and my only complaint is the lasting power, which is lamentable like other Boss perfumes I own. The scent, however, is gorgeous and rich. I understand it was a bomb in its day. The name describes it well: it smells red, bold, sweet, juicy fruity with woods and a powdery touch. A shame about the longevity, since the scent is great, but it should be more affordable given its performance.

I haven’t tried the new version, but I was loyal to the original for a long time. If anyone is looking for it, I encourage them to try Libre Le Parfum. Once it settles on the skin, Le Parfum smells exactly like Deep Red.

When it hit the market, wow, it was a huge success, but they’ve reformulated it and it’s not as potent anymore. That’s why you now find it for $20 on the market. The fixative is what makes the fragrance last; it’s the most expensive raw material in a perfume. That’s why when the price drops, it means the formula has changed.

I smelled this fragrance on a friend during a beach trip: I remember a honeyed, woody, and super sensual aroma that I loved. Later, I found it online at an incredible price and decided to buy it, oh disappointment! It didn’t smell anything like what I smelled on my friend. I detect neroli and spices, and as time passes, a bit of sweet and loud vanilla, but no trace of that sophisticated and sexy vanilla I remembered. Was it the beach heat, did I buy a different version, or is it fake? While I don’t hate it or find it repulsive, it reminds me of catalog perfumes without any joke or personality, a cheap scent you find anywhere. I use it to stay at home doing nothing or when taking a shower before bed, nothing special.

I bought this blindly based on friends’ recommendations because I was in an old-school phase. It has a very pleasant fragrance; it’s rich, easy to wear, not too soft but not overpowering, and the note blend is perfect. It starts with a sweet citrus opening, then vanilla takes center stage on my skin. The downside is the short longevity and weak trail. I’d still recommend it; people with a less intense skin pH will likely get better results. In my opinion, it’s safe to buy blindly.

Now at 31, I’ve bought it again, and I don’t feel it lost any quality or surprise. Maybe it lasts a bit less; I’m not sure if it’s me or the perfume, but it remains one of my favorites and will always be. It’s a standout scent that people always ask about.

At least on my skin, its performance is 3-4 hours total. People mention it’s been reformulated, and probably that’s why it lost quality in terms of longevity and trail. It smells great, but it’s a shame it doesn’t last long on the skin.
