What a wonderful fragrance, a classic. Niche-level quality but affordable.

The three fragrances I used extensively in my youth: Watt Blue, Samba for Men, and this Animale, which I’d rank third and yet is the only one that survived. I don’t know the current version, but the original was very good. Recently I bought Azzaro TMWI and got some reminiscences, only at the opening. This was the example of how to make a strong, masculine scent; in the dry-down, which was the best part, it felt like wearing a mantle of testosterone. The men who asked me what I was wearing weren’t the fops or the weaklings, but the tough guys, bodybuilders, and studs—that was this scent.

I’ve had it for several years and copied it from my father, yet it DOES NOT SMELL OLD; it’s a super sexy, young-elegant scent perfect for cool evenings and semi-formal events. The opening is citrusy but has something that prevents it from being too much for extreme heat; as it dries, that sexy touch remains. I find it a bit tricky to find the ideal moment due to its light, formal character. Regarding projection and longevity, it always seemed low to me, though it lasts longer on clothes. It’s the fragrance I wouldn’t reveal I have, something sexy and unique, since no one has ever spoken to me about it; it’s like a hidden gem. I might have olfactory fatigue making it invisible to me after half an hour; if so, and it projects moderately and lasts, I’d give it 8.5/10, otherwise a 7/10.

Nineties barbershop vintage. It’s a classic scent for casual use, weak in projection and low longevity. The price is very good so you can buy it without fear. I like it but only use it casually.

The perfume is wonderful, and yet I regret buying it. Animale is a fragrance I would never put on someone under 35. The wood and leather scent is potent and even spicy. It smells like the nineties at their peak, and precisely because of that, it’s hard to wear. You need a certain age or personality (action movie protagonist type) to carry it comfortably. That said, the perfume is excellent. A great option to gift to a man 40 or older; he’ll surely get a nostalgia trip. It can also work in romantic situations, especially if the other person is of a certain age. Due to its pungency, I would never wear it daily. I feel it deserves to be used for special occasions out of respect for others, as it will shine, especially at night.

Smells great, rich up close, and not overly sweet. The sillage isn’t huge, but it performs wonderfully in the short term. I keep it alongside Versace Dylan Blue; while I sometimes mix them, Animale doesn’t even come close to matching Dylan Blue. The dry-down isn’t its best, but it still deserves a 7.

Fresh, tasty, and clean with good longevity. I wear it on Sundays when I’m free, but it works daily too. Recommended: you can apply several sprays and it lasts about 8 hours without issues.

This was my first perfume when I entered the world of fragrances. It smells very fresh but quite synthetic; my friends love it, and it’s my girlfriend’s favorite, though I notice the synthetic notes a lot. The opening is potent, reaching out to the arm and beyond, then it settles closer to the skin—not skin scent, but close. I wear it when people are near. It lasts quite a bit, around 8 hours, which is a plus. I recommend it for any time or season except winter. As a first perfume, it’s not bad; it’s accessible and doesn’t hurt to apply several sprays. It smells very fresh and literally aromatic. The juniper berry note is very prominent. They say Animale For Men and Animale are the perfumes for the bad boy. It’s not a bad perfume; if you want it, go ahead, though the scent is very different from today’s trends and you might not like it at first. Scent: 8/10, Projection: 6/10, Longevity: 7/10, Price: 9/10.

I agree with Josesan; I have two bottles and bought another because I really liked it, but it’s not the same anymore. Even the manufacturer changed; the current version smells very synthetic, nothing like the original from years ago.

A friend used it and smelled great, but when I asked for a little, there came a point where I couldn’t stand it. It was just one note—I don’t know which one—that took away my desire to wear it. It smells good overall, but that note seemed strange and piercing to me, almost cheesy; I don’t know how to describe it. At first, a friend brought it over and it smelled amazing, but unfortunately, I can’t take it anymore.

Did they reformulate it? I smell it exactly like before. I’ve worn it from childhood into adulthood and will keep buying it. It’s unique, nobody else uses it, and you smell delicious. Incredible trail, not uncomfortable, with excellent phases. On clothes, it’s brutal—a super 90s classic at a crazy $40 price. For night out, don’t overapply like you would in the morning. I love the original bottle. Top 10 of the 90s. For an EDT, the performance is impressive. Rich, masculine, doesn’t smell old. I’ll be looking for the 200ml size, I’m running low.

90s classic: pleasant, long-lasting, and practical. Despite the reformulation, it’s still going strong. Ideal for those over 25 (though age doesn’t matter). In my collection, Yanbal’s Temptation for men is 95% similar, just swapping lemon for tangerine and leather for cedar, but this Animale has more staying power. You’ll get good compliments. In mild weather, it shines at work and social events without being intrusive or cloying. It’s versatile, a Swiss Army knife if you don’t overdo it. Incredible price, don’t spend on expensive clones like Polo or CK; Animale lasts longer on skin and clothes. For stylish men, this is old school. Tiens!

A 90s fragrance that brings back memories. It’s one of those scents that makes you turn around to see who’s wearing it. Very distinctive and rich. Fresh, with a marine touch. Fair price and excellent value for money. One of my favorites.

Noble woody fragrance, perfect for men with character and intellect. I recommend it to guys aged 30 to 40; on my skin, it lasts easily about 7 hours. The price is very affordable, but be careful: don’t overdo it, 4 or 5 sprays are enough for a full day. Greetings from Medellín.
