Asad Bourbon by Lattafa Perfumes

Hey, what a fragrance, huh? An insane cocoa and vanilla scent that clings to your clothes for hours. Honestly, I’m blown away; it’s an absolute hit.

Basically, it’s an Azzaro The Most Wanted with a cocoa note that’s a bit too heavy, and frankly, it ends up being a bit annoying to me.

I tested 30 fragrances in decants to pick just three for full bottles, and Asad Bourbon was one of them! It’s a super versatile scent, perfect for almost the whole year except when it’s scorching hot. Complex, rich, and incredibly pleasant. The mirabelle plum citrus top note is only noticeable at first, but if you spray it on clothes, that rich citrus vibe lingers much longer. Moderate sillage lets you wear it almost anywhere. Longevity is modest, so I keep a decant handy for reapplication. I’m letting it macerate to boost it over a month or two, but every time I wear it, I absolutely love it! I once pitted it against Liquid Brun, one of the most voted scents, but Asad Bourbon feels like the better buy—it’s nearly half the price and offers more complexity than LB, which just smells like dessert to me.

It smells sweet, reminding me of those strawberry chocolate bars they used to sell back home. Not for hot days, more for night or cold weather. Decent performance. It’s unisex, fresh yet sweet at the same time; it can be a bit cloying but smells good. I don’t think many will hate it, but not many will love it either; it’s youthful. If it’s cheap, it’s a good buy, but it’s not a perfume that will drive you crazy.

It’s a rich scent, but it doesn’t resemble anything it’s supposedly inspired by. Once it dries down, it’s just chocolate and vanilla.

Hello, wow, this perfume is incredible. I own Azzaro The Most Wanted EDP Intense and I don’t think this is a dupe, but the evolution from the opening to the dry-down on skin is phenomenal. Scent 10/10, projection 10/10, and longevity 10/10. Mainly vanilla and chocolate, with that amazing lavender note.

It’s a bit of an odd perfume, I’d say. Sure, it’s rich and people will like it, but it didn’t pleasantly surprise me. The opening is very confusing and explosive, with a bright lavender note that resembles Valentino BIR Intense (nowhere near matching that quality), but the cocoa overshadows it. I didn’t love the opening; it reminds me of Axe’s Dark Temptation. The dry-down is richer and resembles the vanilla in ATMW a bit, but like the lavender in BIR, it doesn’t reach that quality at all. In short, it’s a good perfume; maybe my nose was congested or it just arrived today, I don’t know. For now, it disappointed me a bit because I don’t sense any of the DNA notes some reviewers claimed it had. I’ll give it a 6/10 for now—it’s rich, easy to like, and wearable, but I can’t pinpoint a moment where I thought, ‘Okay, this perfume is going in this direction.’ I hope it matures and improves because I feel it should. Personally, it didn’t surprise or please me much, but it’s very likely everyone in your circle will love it.

The opening is a bit mixed, somewhere between AMW, Valentino BIR, and SWY, leaning more towards a Valentino lavender note, before evolving into a cocoa scent typical of SWY that reminds me of chestnut or vanilla. Usable for any occasion; I wear it daily or for casual outings. Rating: 9/10.

In the opening, I can detect some fruit (according to the notes, it’s plum), accompanied by a clean, well-executed lavender. The best part for my taste comes in the dry-down: it’s tasty, sweet, and warm, yet it doesn’t lose its masculine touch. Definitely a good perfume for cold weather and temperate climates below 20 degrees. I don’t usually buy perfumes based on compliments, but I must say this fragrance does generate them.

Wow… I read some previous reviews (by canary or kkcc) and got scared. When it arrived, I was worried… The box is very pretty (better than many designer boxes), the bottle is spectacular, shiny, stands out… The atomizer is basic and I don’t like the cap. I understand why people compare it to Wanted Intense (I own it too), and I must say that while there are differences if you compare them side-by-side, nobody on the street will notice. Projection lasts about an hour or two; longevity… it’s been 7 hours on my skin (let alone on clothes). The opening is great, and the dry-down is even better. I got it for €25, and it’s amazing. Some women liked it, others said it smelled a bit strange, but once they got used to it, they found it sexy and even sweet.

I hate it; it feels oppressive to me.

It’s a quite rich fragrance, and as generally said, it’s a combination of Born in Roma and Azzaro, though to me it smells much more like Azzaro The Most Wanted. That lavender note in the opening is one of the things I like most about this perfume. Buy blind 100%, especially if you like sweet but non-invasive perfumes. The longevity is quite good, though I wouldn’t consider it a beast mode perfume.

Many define it as a mix between Valentino BIR Intense and Azzaro The Most Wanted, and I confirm both are present, but with a sweeter, more vanilla twist and cocoa. I’ve read that some smell Axe de Chocolate, which is funny, but my first impression sniffing the bottle was exactly that. On skin, dry down, it beats any other fragrance in its price range. With its brutal performance (I got it on sale in Spain for 25 euros), it quickly became one of my favorites and I use it regularly, except in summer. Probably the fragrance I’ve recommended the most in my life.

Good fragrance; in my case, lavender, pepper, and cocoa dominate, not as sweet as others say. I see it as perfect for autumn or spring before the heat. I’d rate projection and longevity 6.5, but for the price, it’s a smart buy.

Those who say it smells like Axe de Chocolate are right about the cocoa note, but it’s not a linear scent nor does it reduce to that. I bought it blind for 30 dollars with high expectations, and it reminded me a lot of Azzaro TMW Parfum. It’s far from BIR except for that initial lavender blast. I sprayed 10 times and ended up dizzy; it projects a lot but disappears from the skin after 6 hours. I’ll let it macerate for a few months to see how it develops.
