Dominique went overboard with the tonka bean, vulgarizing the scent to the point where it’s not worth it. If you’re looking for a tonka bomb, better look in commercial perfumes where it’s abundant. This doesn’t smell niche, and the price is ridiculous for what it offers. The only positive is that it doesn’t last long, because I don’t want to keep smelling this. The musky tonka smell is the most unpleasant thing that exists, and this is a monolithic scent revolving around that. I have no idea when I can catch the pepper at the start or the freshness of the neroli with the creaminess of the ylang-ylang.
But what do we have here? A perfume extract of contrasts. Dominique Ropion, once again, at his feet. Electric, effervescent, spicy, and above all fruity/floral opening. It’s exquisite at first, like a tropical popping gum. Then, in a few minutes (no more than 2), it changes radically and becomes creamy, sweet, ambered, warm, and enveloping. IT’S A WILD RIDE ON HOW IT CHANGES! This is crazy, seriously. You have to get one if you haven’t already. What a delight. It’s hyper-versatile; I see it as a signature fragrance for all year round. It works well for parties, the office, or the movies with friends. Plus, its development is amazing. It lasts about 8 hours on skin and projects like a beast. People love it, and you walk around wrapped in a bubble of delicious, tasty scent. I’d eat myself. I think it’s my top 1 of 2024. I didn’t expect it, but… Flower Lust instant crush. That said, the bottle couldn’t be uglier. For the love of God, D’orsay heart, fire your designer immediately. What a horror of a bottle for such a wonderful perfume. Everything it has that’s ugly makes it good. In summary: Age: Any age, suits anyone. Unisex, almost perfect. Ultra-versatile. Those contrasts make it shine in warm or cool weather. Jesus! If it has EVERYTHING. Scent: 8.5. Longevity: 9. Duration: 8-9h. Projection: 9. Versatility: 9. Price: 3.76€/ml. Final Score: 9.5
