This is one of the perfumes I like most from this brand, along with Buveur De Vent. It starts very sweet, warm, and spiced: dates with caramelized orange and a touch of rose that is really good. Powerful opening that fades down to reveal its creamy woody base. I almost would have bet it had some vanilla, but this note isn’t listed. It’s definitely a winter perfume or for colder climates. Good sillage for the first two hours, then drops down to a skin scent after nine or ten hours. This brand is characterized by having moderate longevity and projection, but this is the one with the best performance in my opinion. Elegant scent, compliment generator, especially with the female public. Highly recommended, completely unisex, perhaps slightly leaning feminine. For people over 25. Scent 9/10, Sillage 7.5/10, Projection 7.5/10, Longevity 7/10.

It smells like Christmas, especially at the beginning where you feel the cypress note mixed with a sweet note; afterwards, the cypress fades in intensity and it smells like a custard or spiced vanilla dessert. I think its sillage and longevity are average. It reminds me a lot of the Stash fragrance by Sarah Jessica Parker.

  • One of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve tried in 2023, love at first sniff. Juicy date fruit opening with orange and a spiced orange blossom heart with a prominent cedar and resin base. It’s a dense perfume with great creaminess; at times I seem to perceive an unlisted sandalwood in the woody background. At the start, the date jam feels almost edible, and then the dry down seems crazy: warm, embracing, delicious. It evokes Middle Eastern landscapes but also Christmas teas by a fireplace. I think it’s a perfume I’d use any time of year: on summer nights (dosifying heavily) to feel the heat of the desert breeze, or in winter seeking the coziness of a spice infusion. I think it’s more suitable for night, provided we’re looking for a sweet perfume with presence and elegance, and completely unisex. It has magnificent projection and lasts over 14 hours on my skin. Its dry down reminds me of Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker, but this lacks the sweet date opening drenched in orange juice (instead, it opens with aromatic sage) and feels a bit fresher, less spicy, more soapy, and lighter. Its longevity is also less than Desert Suave. In my opinion, although I like both, the magic of the Liquides Imaginaires perfume far surpasses Stash, which could well be an EDT version or a lighter flanker of the same. I don’t recommend buying it blindly because it’s an expensive perfume with an olfactory profile that might not please everyone, but it deserves a try because, in my opinion, it’s a complete marvel. I’ve completely fallen in love with it. Scent 10/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Value/Price 7.5/10, Versatility 7.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

  • Very original. The first 15 minutes, the date scent is so realistic it overwhelms me a bit. After this, the magic begins, with cardamom and orange that resemble a black tea infusion. In the dry down, the orange blossom starts to take prominence and feels like sweet soap. I see it for autumn/winter and fresh spring hours.

  • Well, what can I say… this scent didn’t really convince me. I was foolish. I let myself be swept up by the hype and positive reviews and bought it blindly, Desert Suave… and well, for whoever wants it. If you read this and are interested, write to me, I still have it intact. What does it smell like? Tangerine. And I don’t love citrus scents, especially orange and tangerine. (I know, I should have suspected reading the notes hahaha), but I thought it would be a much less dominant note. It smells too much like tangerine to me. It is true that it’s a complex and very well-constructed aroma: it opens with a very curious date scent, in those first minutes you only smell the date, then gradually you start perceiving a resinous, sweet scent, and when the tangerine arrives, it overwhelms everything. A resinous tangerine. If you like the smell of sweet citrus fruit, you’ll love it. Simply put, it’s not for me. The development is correct. It lasts about 6-7 hours, with acceptable projection for the first two, then it becomes a skin scent. Scent: 6.5/10. Longevity: 7/10. Duration: 6h. Projection: 6.5/10. Versatility: 8/10. Price: 2.0 €/ml. Final Score: 6.5/10. EDIT: I’ve started using it more and I have to say that the more I use it, the more I like it. I’m not deleting the previous one because I think it’s good to share the journey I’ve lived. It can help understand it. Now I appreciate the olfactory journey of this Desert Suave much more: a very rich date opening, a few minutes later a tangerine appears that I wish was less noticeable, but I stop caring about it throughout the life of the perfume because some woods and spices appear that manage to mix everything, dilute it, and give it a subtlety and magic… that I find difficult to describe. I’ve gone from hating it and wanting to sell it to loving it and not being able to stop choosing it over many others in my collection. XD And this, friends, is the magic of perfumery. (and the magic of Quentin)

  • I’ve tried this several times based on a fan’s recommendation, but I have to disagree here… not everything can be perfect. I admit that fruity scents aren’t my strong suit, even if I like some, but this full composition, with that date taking center stage, overwhelms me. Combined with that resinous note, it builds a wall that dictates the entire story. Basically, that’s its opening: quite concentrated and a bit suffocating. The citrusy and sweet tangerine note also holds me back. Another con, I’m afraid. So, no way. It’s an intense, resinous, sweet, and spiced fruity scent. It performs well, lasting and projecting above average; I understand it’s versatile and unisex. Plus, it’s a good price. But, it’s just not for me….
