Hi everyone! I bought it looking for a similarity with BR540, but on my skin it has nothing to do with it. It’s just musk! I don’t feel anything else but a subtle musk aroma. It doesn’t smell synthetic like others; that’s the only thing in its favor. Aesthetically the bottle is nice, good quality, and the plastic cap. I think it’s good for the price, as long as the scent works for you.
Didn’t like it… the first impression smelled like a stable; I’ll wait a few days and try it again.
Didn’t like it… the first impression was barn-like. I’ll let it settle for a few days and try it again.
It’s strange there are so few reviews with all these videos creating almost hype. I think the hype created false expectations and divided opinions. It’s not a clone of BR540, nor a subtle, friendly, or clean musk; for that, try Musk Mood from the same house. This is an opulent musk, a term that sounds contradictory. Better to test on skin than on paper; it changes a lot. Opens strong and alcoholic, give it time. It’s very sweet, with resin, amber, and soft wood. In dry down, it smells like leather, almost metallic and animalistic, a bit rough. Nothing you’d expect from that white and gold bottle. The longevity is phenomenal, projection is medium to powerful depending on the dose. It’s not a beast mode fragrance. They say they reformulated it and it’s softer now; good luck with the batch you get, mine is from 2021 and it suits it well to have aged. Keep this in mind if you don’t like it at first; it deserves several chances. For heat, it’s too enveloping and heavy; better for night or cool days. It’s not my usual style but it has its place. I like it and those around me do too. Important to remember which line it belongs to and the price before demanding it be a masterpiece. And most importantly, don’t take me too seriously; the best is to approach Opulent Musk without preconceived ideas.
The name says it all: it’s opulent. You should think about that… the musk isn’t soft or clean, it’s strong, opulent, and very animalic, which makes it rough for me. The opening smells very alcoholic. The packaging is beautiful, like most Arab brands. It lasts quite a bit on my skin, up to 8 hours. I wouldn’t buy it again; in fact, I gifted it to someone else.
I really like the scent, it’s a shame it doesn’t last more than an hour, neither on clothes nor on skin.
I love the scent, but it’s a pity it doesn’t last more than an hour on clothes or skin.
At first, it smells identical to Zara’s Red Temptation and BR540. On my skin, I detect saffron, musk, and cedar. I like it because I knew what I was getting into. Reading the reviews… I don’t know where people buy perfumes, because they seem fake. It lasts 6-8 hours on me with moderate-to-high projection. It’s true that it’s drier and less sweet, but it literally cost me 8€ on a German website. You can pat yourself on the back: it’s the closest to 540 at that price, with incredible longevity and people will ask you what you’re wearing. It’s not for every nose; if you’re used to very feminine or masculine perfumes, this will be something you’ve never heard of (truly, it smells like Red Temptation dry down).
At first, it smells identical to Zara’s Red Temptation and BKT 540. On my skin, you can detect the saffron, the musk, and the cedar. I like it because I knew what I was getting. Reading the comments… I don’t know where people buy perfumes; they seem fake. It lasts 6-8 hours on me, with moderate-to-high projection, and yes, it’s drier and less sweet, but hey, it literally cost me 8 euros on a German website. You could be singing from the rooftops; it’s the closest thing you’ll get to the 540 for that price, with incredible longevity, and people will definitely ask what you’re wearing. It’s not for everyone; if you’re used to very feminine or masculine perfumes, this will be an aroma you’ve never smelled before (seriously, go to a Zara and smell Red Temptation dry; that’s what this smells like).
I was looking for an affordable alternative to BR540, my daughter’s perfume; I wanted a lighter dupe for everyday wear and to save the original for special occasions (praying it lasts). I ruled out the equivalence houses for three reasons: they spoil quickly, have poor performance, and come in generic bottles that I hate. I’d accept it if it were magic, but it usually isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against dupes; I own several of discontinued perfumes that are a valid option, but in other cases, they aren’t my first choice. I’ve gifted almost all the ones I’ve tried out of curiosity and budget: Amores Mío I Love You, Cloud, Red Temptation, RT Elixir, Club la Nuit Untold, and Amber Rouge from Orientica (which isn’t cheap anymore). I had to try Opulent Musc. On its own, without comparing it to BR540, it’s very good: beautiful bottle, excellent performance, wide sillage, and fantastic longevity (on clothes it lasts until you wash it). It’s so intense that three sprays flood a room. It’s oriental, floral, woody, ambered, and warm, with an exotic, almost eccentric touch that’s pleasant and wearable if used with restraint. With more than 3 or 4 sprays, it becomes intrusive, so it doesn’t work as a body splash. If you’re buying it with BR540 in mind, it’s hard to compare: about 20€ against a fragrance of extremely high quality and complexity. For me, Opulent Musc holds its own with dignity; it’s not a clone, it’s an inspiration on its own path. It’s softer and friendlier, less sweet (the sweetness comes from the musk, not sugar), with less prominent cypress, noticeable jasmine, and saffron present but less intense. The big difference is the musk: in OM it’s very strong, almost animalic, present from the start and intensifying as it dries, resulting in something heavy, dense, or sticky for some, but a marvel for others. The name honors the content. If you like BR540 or its inspirations, you’ll love it; if you don’t know this type of fragrance, I don’t recommend buying blindly because it’s different, strange, and far from designer scents, intense and musky. But at the price, you don’t risk much, so if you’re curious, get it ‘fearless of success.’ If you’re looking for a BR540 clone knowing it costs about 20€, it’s a valid and pleasant option, although my daughter won’t use it and puts it in the room, which makes me think her followers are more picky than I am, which is understandable when you’re passionate about a perfume. Conclusion: it’s affordable, high-performance, very pleasant, and compared to BR540, it holds its own elegantly for 20 euros. Although it’s not for everyone, the few times I’ve used it I’ve received compliments, so if it’s not for everyone, it seems it is for the majority.
It literally smells like a stable to me. I don’t get why people say it smells good. Who actually likes smelling like a stable? I don’t have Bacarat Rouge to compare it to, but if it’s anything like this, I wouldn’t want to smell it even from a distance.
It literally smells like a stable to me. I don’t understand people who say it smells good. Who likes smelling like a stable? I don’t have Baccarat Rouge to compare it to, but if it’s similar to that, I don’t want to smell it from a mile away.
After reading so much about the same thing, I’ll just say I don’t compare it to anything except Jean Paul Gaultier’s Monsieur Jean. It’s a very particular fragrance, from start to finish; frankly, for the price, I think it surpasses others costing over 100 euros. I respect all opinions and learn from the most critical ones; I love it.
After reading so much about the same thing, I’ll just say I won’t compare it to anything; comparisons are hateful and unreliable, unless it’s from MONSIEUR JEAN PAUL GUELAIN. In my opinion, it’s a very particular fragrance from the opening to the dry down. Frankly, for the price, I think it beats others costing over €100. I respect all opinions and learn from them to buy the ones that get the worst reviews; I love it.
Raid 🙁
I was looking for something woody and amber for my mom at a good price (without knowing it’s similar to BKR). Upon testing, I clearly detected musk, saffron, amber, and cedar, so I thought she’d love it. I gifted it to her, and she said, ‘thanks, I like all perfumes…’. That comment froze me, but since it was Christmas, I didn’t press her. A year later, I found it tucked away in her velvet drawer. Curious, I sprayed it on myself and was stunned: it smells like gasoline. Where did the wood, saffron, or amber go? 😭😭😭😭 That’s when I understood her ‘I’ll think about it’ comment; she didn’t dare say no in front of everyone. To me, it smells more like a mechanic’s shop, gasoline, and metal parts. It’s a mystery, as Condorito would say: ‘I demand an explanation’. Plop!
I was looking for a woody and amber perfume for my mom, saw this at a good price, and bought it without knowing it was similar to Baccarat. When I tried it, I clearly noticed the musk, saffron, amber, and cedarwood; I thought she’d like it. I gave it to her, and when she tried it, she said: ‘thank you, I like all perfumes…’, which left me frozen. Something felt off, but since it was Christmas and we were exchanging gifts, I didn’t give it importance. Almost a year later, I found it in her room, very neatly stored in its velvet box at the bottom of a drawer. Out of curiosity, I applied it and was stunned… This smelled like gasoline! Where did the woody notes go? The saffron? What happened to the amber, for the love of god?? 😭😭😭😭. That’s when I understood her comment was just for the sake of politeness; she didn’t want to tell me she didn’t like it in front of others. Honestly, I don’t know what happened; I swear it didn’t smell like that when I first tried it. I understand those who say it smells like a stable, but for me, it’s more like a mechanic’s garage, a mix of gasoline and metal parts. It’s all a mystery. As Condorito would say: ‘I demand an explanation’. Plop!
I bought it blind because I like musk. I read it smelled like a stable and thought it was exaggerated, but it’s pure stable. After a few weeks, I smelled it again and it’s still the same. I gave it to a friend who loved the bottle; I’ll ask if she dared to use it. It doesn’t resemble BR 540; I have another dupe, Rayhaan Divine, and it’s nothing like this. I use this without smelling like a mule or a cow.
Bought it for the musk, which is my thing. After reading reviews saying it smells like a stable, I thought it was exaggerated, but it’s pure stable. Tried it again after a few weeks and it’s still the same. Gave it to a friend who loved the bottle, but she hasn’t dared to wear it yet. It has nothing to do with BR 540 or Rayhaan Divine; this smells clean, no horse or cow vibes.
I grabbed this blind and, being a guy, I’m totally hooked. Smells amazing, a complete hit 😻😋
