It’s fascinating to me, and the self-proclaimed experts have a ton of dupes to offer, but the dry-down has absolutely nothing in common with what they’re comparing it to. I just hope to see a review from the GOD of perfumery, MISTER DON JP GUERLAIN. Then I’ll drop to my knees and kiss the floor like a good little papist…

  2. OwerGame

Sometimes I read every single thing… (I can’t help it, otherwise I wouldn’t be me) about petrochemical notes, gasoline smell, very synthetic, invasive, unbreathable… and on top of that, they compare it to Alien by Mugler. (Thank goodness they didn’t compare it to the real Alien; the one by Thierry). Creatures: what are you expecting from a very modest and cheap fragrance from the utterly terrible Lataffa (which I also own) that costs 13€? I repeat the price?? I paid that amount for this, and what it offers, given the price, seems like a perfume, at the very least, modest. Obviously it’s synthetic. From every angle. A blast of alcohol from a bottle and a couple of floral chords from first-year high school, and that’s it. I don’t understand the disdain for this “little thing” which, besides, smells very good. Tuberosa gets a 2.5 out of 5 in terms of originality.

  3. I bought it because of the polarizing reviews it has, and here’s mine: I’d summarize it as white flowers bathed in cognac and vanilla, and once it dries down, sandalwood and the powdery touch from heliotrope take the lead (but the white flowers and the boozy accord always remain). A very dense, nocturnal scent, ideal for cold weather (day or night); although it doesn’t resemble Alien much, at least it’s in the family of woody white florals. Very good longevity and projection, an excellent surprise. P.S.: Another perfume it reminds me of is Interdit Absolu; I feel they’re heading down the same path.

Well, after reading so much and seeing so many people talking about the same things, I just want to say I’m not going to compare it to anything; comparisons are quite hateful and unreliable, unless they come from MONSIEUR JEAN PAUL GUERLAIN, in which case, yes. In my opinion, it seems like a very particular fragrance, both in its opening and its entire evolution. Frankly, for the price it has, I dare to say it’s much better than some that cost over 100€. I respect all opinions and learn from them, especially the ones that criticize the worst; I love it.

At first, I didn’t notice anything extraordinary in the opening, but the scent evolves to become warm, woody, sweet, and spicy. I like it more for the night because it’s strong and elegant. If I compare it to a room’s decor, I’d say it has a wooden floor, black leather sofas, and red velvet curtains; very gothic, mysterious, and elegant… Definitely not for everyone’s taste; I recommend not buying it blindly.

Too potent for me. Five minutes after smelling it, I got nauseous and then a migraine. It has a synthetic scent; I wouldn’t know how to describe it. Try it before buying. A resounding NO.

  7. Rodríguez sanchez

I hate the opening; truly, no one can take away its potency, and the longevity is the same. It improves later, but for me, that opening is so unpleasant that it doesn’t make up for everything. The listed notes give the impression it will be something else, but ugh, it turns out to be unbreathable. I love potent perfumes, but in this case, crossing the line into having to endure that gasoline stench means a resounding no for me, and of course, it doesn’t resemble my beloved Alien. Putting this on is a miserable experience until something better comes out, but it doesn’t go away; the opening lingers with a reminder all the time…

The opening is awful, no one can deny its power and longevity is the same, but it improves after a while. For me, that opening is so unpleasant that it doesn’t compensate for the rest. The listed notes give a different sensation, but ugh, it turns out to be unfathomable. I love powerful perfumes, but in this case, crossing the line of having to endure that gas stench is an outright no for me, and of course, it doesn’t resemble my beloved Alien. Wearing this is a bad time until it improves, but it doesn’t go away; the opening leaves a lingering reminder all the time.

  9. PAULURRY

Total disgust; it didn’t meet my expectations. After spraying and waiting for it to evolve, I only smelled petroleum, a soft jasmine, and cashmere; I couldn’t identify anything else. The comparison with Alien seems totally ridiculous; there’s no point of comparison. That’s a perfume I really like, and honestly, I don’t feel any similarity between the two. Opulent Red is a very cheap fragrance, and that’s what it smells like; NO, not necessarily does cheap mean bad quality; I’ve bought Arab perfumes at the same price and they turned out to be amazing! I had faith in it, but I’ve been let down completely; I didn’t like it even as a room freshener.

  10. LADYPARRODR*FRAGANTE

Honestly, this scent doesn’t remind me of Prive Rouge Malachite at all, let alone Alien. From my experience, this is a resinous aroma, with that gasoline touch everyone talks about; I don’t feel the flowers or their fruity notes, only the wood, amber, and very unpleasant resins to my nose. A very disappointing fragrance, since I thought that based on its notes it would be an opulent scent. Definitely synthetic from start to finish, trying to highlight some sweetness but the woody resinous scent overpowers it. I had faith in it, but it’s a complete letdown.

Honestly, this scent doesn’t remind me at all of Prive Rouge Malachite or Alien. From my experience, it’s a resinous aroma with that much-talked-about gas touch; I don’t feel the flowers or fruity notes, just wood, amber, and very unpleasant resins to my nose. It’s a very disappointing fragrance since I thought that based on its notes it would be an opulent aroma. Definitely synthetic from start to finish, like petroleum, trying to highlight some sweetness but the woody resin aroma wins. I had faith in it, but it has been a complete letdown.

  12. Seriously, does anyone compare this perfume to Rouge Malachite and Alien without having tried it? I know it’s impossible for it to be similar because it has oud, and as far as I’ve read, it has that petrol note, nothing like the others, even though this Lattafa one has white flowers. I hope to try it soon to give an opinion, but really, they should review those ‘similarities’ because a lot of people follow this website without knowing anything.

  13. Amazing perfume. It has development, it’s long-lasting, and leaves a great trail. I tried it on a man today, and on my skin it smells sweet with oud notes. I can distinguish the peach and vanilla nuance. I love it. Although some say it leans feminine, I see it as pretty unisex. Regarding the bad reviews about smelling like petrol, well, you have to educate your nose a bit or perhaps take better care of your skin’s pH. If you find it for 11-16 euros, it lasts for hours, you get to smell different, with niche-like vibes, don’t hesitate. It’s worth having in your collection.

Amazing perfume, with spectacular longevity and sillage. The packaging and bottle are very simple. But wowwwwwwwwwww. I bought it blind, and mostly because of the price he told me, it doesn’t matter if I like it or not because I got it for free, like 25 RE GA LA DO, and I got an absolutely brutal surprise 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Alien in one hand and Opulent Red in the other: honestly, I don’t see a single shred of similarity. For me, it’s a petrol opening, yes, with a sweet oud and a very soft floral note—super unisex and warm. Oud isn’t for everyone. On my skin, it smells sweeter than on my partner, who is a man; on him, the wood stands out while the floral is barely noticeable. I think it’s a top buy; the performance is brutal (maybe too much if you don’t get hooked), and for under 16 euros on Amazon.es, I get 100ml of a quality-to-price ratio that many designer perfumes in that range would envy. I’ll probably grab Opulent Oud when it goes on sale, but I don’t have plans yet. That said, the bottle is ugly and greedy.

  17. The opening is a bit strange for more ‘developed’ scents, so to speak. But it fades quickly, leaving behind a strong yet exquisite aroma that definitely fills the room. It’s understandable that not everyone will like it. That said, it has nothing to do with Alien. It’s unlike anything else, unique and phenomenal. For me, 9.5 out of 10.

  18. Mitafragance

I swear I don’t know if my nose isn’t picking up a dissonant note or if it’s a pH thing, but this perfume fascinates me. It has so many notes I can’t even explain how it smells on me or why I like it so much… it’s mysterious with its own personality. It feels sweet and juicy, yet powdery. Sensual and cozy, but not overly invasive, and definitely, I don’t detect that gas, burnt, or plastic vibe. I wish more people could experience it as delicious. My partner loves it too. It’s one of the few perfumes that always gets compliments.

This perfume leaves me confused; I sprayed it on my wife and it smells fruity-floral, but on my son, it’s woody-fruity. That said, I liked the scent, but it’s not something to buy blindly because if you’re not used to challenging fragrances, it might repel you. I lean more towards it being feminine and for winter; in summer, this perfume would be a nightmare.

I bought it blind, sprayed it, and sold it. I couldn’t handle it.

  23. Patrick Suskind

Polarizing at first, with a chaotic opening that turns into pure niche in minutes, rivaling Montale. Ostentatious, sweet, spiced, and floral; it’s for oud lovers. I’ve tested those ‘gasoline’ openings in 200€ perfumes, and this wins on price. If Mancera or Xerjoff released it, it would be a smash hit. A 10 for Lattafa. In dry down, it reminds me of Hugo Boss’s Oud Saffron. Warning: buying blind is risky because it’s not a simple scent.

  24. Taurien

While the hype around Arab houses is massive, this one is the most controversial. Reading reviews made me wonder if the perfume was flawed or if my sense of smell was off. Honestly, I lean toward the negative. The opening is synthetic and smells like gasoline, with notes of sweet blood orange that evoke a gas station or petrochemical plant—a rare and unpleasant scent that lasts through the entire development. At times it smells like leather, but in dry down it’s spices over intense wood with a subtle white floral that doesn’t dominate like in Rouge Malachite or Alien. It shares that synthetic touch with Rosendo Mateu 5, but the quality is far inferior. It has notable projection and lasts 10 hours, but it became unbearable, so I threw it away. Scent 3.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Value 4/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 6/10. I would never buy it again.

  26. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t handle it. I bought it blindly and it was my biggest mistake. I gave it a chance, but it won. It doesn’t smell good; my son says it smells like playdough, and I say it smells like petroleum. Since there’s no leather or suede in the notes, I don’t know what that awful scent is. I don’t recommend it.
