Descripción

Sauvage Parfum by Dior is an oriental fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer François Demachy. Its opening features bergamot, mandarin, and elemi, delivering a vibrant and citrusy start. The heart reveals the warmth and texture of sandalwood, while the base settles on a woody and sweet accord composed of olibanum incense, tonka bean, and vanilla.

  • That initial alcoholic and fresh impact gives the sensation that it will all end in a second, like a first kiss, but after a minute, you start to distinguish that sweet, oiled amber. Very happy with my purchase.

It’s one of the few best-made perfumes in history, an absolute marvel. I don’t know how to explain it, but since it’s so popular, many already know it, and it’s an imposing scent. Every man should own one. Performance? Top-notch. It projects calmly for 2, even 3 hours, and lasts about 12-13 hours. If you spray it on clothes, the scent sticks for WEEKS; I have items I sprayed a month ago that still smell like Sauvage as if I just applied it yesterday. The performance is incredible.

  • It’s super delicious! Sweet without being cloying, even though I love perfumes that are sweet enough to give me a headache. But Sauvage isn’t like that. If you don’t mind carrying the 200ml bottle in your bag, backpack, or briefcase, I’d say go for it. But it weighs a kilo between the bottle and the liquid. You can also carry a refillable mini atomizer with 5ml. Why? Because at best, with a lot of luck, it lasts about 3 hours in full summer and 1 to 2 in winter. So if you like being a trail-leaver and leaving a scent in your wake, you won’t have issues (carrying the mini or the bottle) since reapplying renews the cycle. Worth noting: on clothes you wear and wash, the scent lingers for days even after the wash. Is it synthetic? Truthfully, a little bit. Is it worth the price? Honestly, no. My last purchase was late 2021, directly from Dior’s house with that fabulous packaging: a box, white ribbon, and their signature inside, impeccable and without complaints. But in the end, all fragrance addicts know what we care about most is always inside the beautiful bottle; the content is our great treasure. P.S.: Despite storing it for almost 8 months, the performance only results in about 30 to 40 minutes more of trail, but right on the skin it will always be there, very faithful. Tip: Want any fragrance to last longer, project better, and have a better trail? Simply apply a light, non-greasy moisturizing cream; the most important thing is that it has no scent or fragrance, and you’ll achieve better fixation, duration, and trail without adulterating the smell. If you have aftershave of the same fragrance, use it, and if you have a moisturizing lotion, use that too for better performance. If the stars and the Universe favor you and you have shower gel, hallelujah! because you’ll ensure extended duration. Have a good life, lovely people, enjoy it.

  • My brother got this as a gift, and I try it occasionally. The best part is its longevity; it lasts a long time, and the projection for a Parfum isn’t bad at all. The downside is that it smells quite synthetic. It doesn’t smell bad—in fact, it smells good—but paying the price for such a synthetic scent… This version feels more wearable than the others. I wouldn’t wear it in summer; it would feel too heavy. I recommend it, but first try the other Sauvage versions and decide which one to choose.

I’m disappointed by the trail; it’s extremely weak and you have to press your nose against your wrist to smell it, even after spraying a lot. It reminds me of Sauvage EDT but is less potent. While I like its scent a bit more, it doesn’t convince me enough. On the skin, I notice a dense, creamy sandalwood, nothing dry. I don’t recommend it due to poor longevity and projection; go for the Elixir instead, that’s a true beast of a fragrance.

  • The Parfum version of Sauvage keeps some of the originality of the EDT but with a sweeter, warmer twist. The opening splits: the bergamot and orange provide a zesty citrus freshness, while the vanilla and tonka bean add sweetness. Over time, the citrus fades, and the fragrance feels dry and slightly woody, driven by a milky-scented sandalwood that, combined with the tonka bean, makes it creamy. Ambroxan also appears (though undeclared), making it similar to the EDT. After hours, it remains warm, woody, and a bit sweet; vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood dominate, though the citrus is still noticeable. It’s pleasant, blending generic EDT aromas with a common vanilla accord, creating something that sounds familiar yet distinct at times. Good longevity (8-10 hours), but the projection is weak after half an hour unless you apply a lot; in my opinion, it’s more intimate than the original.

  • Less ambroxan than the EDT, ideal for cold weather or night since it lacks the lavender punch of the EDP. It’s easy for the average nose, without the spicy power of the Elixir. Perfect for men over 30. The Sauvage line is among the best ever done in designer perfumes in all of history.

  • The scent just doesn’t work for me; it’s too strong. The reason I’ll never buy it is that it caused an allergic reaction on my skin.

  • I’ll keep it brief: the opening is good, but the performance isn’t worth the price. Honestly, there’s a smell after the first hour that feels like makeup, as if the perfume is sitting on top of the skin. The longevity is short; I prefer the Elixir much more, and I’m sure the EDT is better (in my opinion, it doesn’t convince me, though others might like it). 3.7/10.

Almost no men’s perfume has ever made me fall in love this hard; it needs that special ‘something’ that makes you say, ‘This is the one!’ This gem did exactly that: it’s a shout of beauty, class, and exquisite elegance. Oh my god, the mandarin and bergamot give a light, sparkling freshness that yields to the sweet, woody heart of sandalwood, incense, and tonka bean, finishing with a delicious, creamy, musky vanilla. It reminds me of Moschino’s Toy Boy style and leaves an air of Halston 1-12. I’ve loved it; it feels like a magnificent work of art. In the end, it leaves a lingering note of Herrera For Men.

  • A perfume I don’t get along with, and naturally I’m referring to the scent it leaves after the initial wonder. On my skin, it turns into a rancid smell, totally far from its top notes, and it becomes annoying.

  • diegoford10

This perfume was a graduation gift from my aunt; I barely turned 25 when I understood why. It’s been the one that has gotten me the most compliments from women; it smells very masculine, like a clean blue fragrance but with a mysterious and nocturnal vibe… for some that’s smelling old, but not at all, maybe their noses are just used to caramelized scents.

If you really like the Dior Sauvage original aroma, the great one created by genius François Demachy, go for the EDP if you’ve already run out of the old EDT. Watch out, the latest batches of the EDT are trash. As for this Parfum, unfortunately, they’ve stripped away the explosive spicy-lavender-sweet ultra-ambroxanated note of the original and stuffed it with sandalwood and sandalwood to make it more mature and nocturnal. In my opinion, even if it smells good and reminds you of your EDT mom and EDP dad, it’s different and they messed it up. It has no spark, offers nothing new or attractive for a Sauvage fan, it’s boring, it smells like grandma to me, and it costs a fortune. To make it worse, right after launching this Parfum, they dropped a little brother, the Elixir, which is a beast and doesn’t cost much more. Basically, they just killed the hype and market share of this Parfum, which, while not bad, has passed without making a splash. Only for die-hard saga fans, completionist collectors, or snobby reviewers eager to burn cash.

A blind buy I made a few years ago, with a really good aroma. Low projection but great longevity on the skin. What stands out most is how versatile it is, suitable for both mild days and night.

  • Many criticize this fragrance, but I liked it. Although it’s different from the rest of the Sauvage line, it keeps its distinctive essence, something typical of a flanker. Maybe the projection isn’t as intense, but it leaves a more intimate trail without being too loud. I consider it quite versatile; you can wear it without issues at the office, for a casual evening out, or even on a date.

  • I was disappointed on the first spray… I expected more, it didn’t smell as rich as I thought. After a few months, I learned to like it; it’s something different and comes in handy for the collection. It lasts and projects well. I feel like it smells expensive, but I don’t know if it’s the scent or the price, haha. Should I recommend buying it? No idea, master.

  • For me, the best in the line. The fight with Elixir is tough since I see it as better for going out at night, while the EDT is the most carefree of all. The EDP loses the fresh citrus-marine vibe of the original and the elegance of the Parfum; it’s rich but ends up in no man’s land, too much for my taste. Instead, this is what the second release should have been: like the original but with more weight, maturity, and elegant character. It doesn’t lose that marine sparkle, everyone loves it, and it stands out enough not to get confused with the original or its clones. It’s oily, so longevity isn’t an issue, easily lasting over 10 hours. Projection is moderate, but with the high concentration, it leaves a great trail and acts more like a personal bubble. I love it.

  • Why do people criticize this perfume? It’s easy to explain. Back in the day, Sauvage was insane and one of the bestsellers worldwide, but I’m surprised Dior hasn’t released anything new that moves away from that DNA. I’ll admit it doesn’t fail today, but there are better options. It’s a scent found everywhere and it’s already getting old. It’s good, but there are better alternatives because in 2024 it’s everywhere and overexposed, and being an expensive luxury brand, it’s not the best choice right now.

  • It’s a super elegant and classy fragrance that will get you tons of compliments. If you’re over 25, it’s a total win; sometimes it can be a bit too strong for younger folks due to that citrus-wood blend. Plus, it has an incredible trail that generates admiration and works for both formal and casual events.

What a delight! It’s totally the DNA of the classic Sauvage EDT with lots of citrus fruits and that super-present lavender, fresh and slightly metallic. Then it’s accompanied by a creamy note with a sweet touch of sandalwood, totally usable day and night, adding elegance and distinction. Finally, a little touch of vanilla well combined with Tonka gives versatility. I applied it at 4 am and it’s 2 pm now and it’s stuck to my neck; let’s not even talk about my shirt, which got some on the collar and will last a couple of days. Its scent is delicious and versatile, day and night, any weather, but in extreme heat I think I might be a bit overpowering. I give it 9.5/10.

  • Carlo Mendez

Delicious perfume, my favorite in the line along with Elixir; it’s a denser, night-time, and sexier version of the Sauvage DNA, which already smells good; here it smells even better. Lasting power is quite good, many compliments. Many will say it’s overhyped and blah blah, but being realistic, 2 out of 10, or even less, wear perfume, believe me, you’ll smell great and for me it’s worth it. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 7/10, Price: I got it for 2800 MXN, about $140 USD. Recommended.

  • EstebanEDP

The scent is very good, that’s true, but in my case the performance is very poor; it doesn’t last on skin or clothes, and the projection is non-existent. And it’s 100% original.

  • Honestly, I regret spending money on this (it costs $220 in my country). It smells like baby powder and nothing else. Lasting power on skin is terrible, like 3 hours, with very poor projection. That said, on clothes it’s a different story: the shirt I wear goes from dirty to perfumed, and when I take it off five days later, that scent floods my room and even after washing, it’s still there. That’s why I say it’s very strange.

  • Very good flanker very special. I smell its aroma ultra-strong like wet but fresh wood a forest with a marine touch with the bergamot at its point: intense slightly sour and bitter but juicy. My interpretation is somewhat dark green woody citrusy and resinous. Very wild very niche very original but with poor longevity and great projection. Personally I notice the looks of people who smell it; it draws a lot of attention. I have the EDT tried the Eau de parfum the FORTE and the Elixir and I believe it’s my favorite scent along with Dior Homme Intense. If you’re looking for something fresh and luminous go for the original EDT with its bright pepper and super vanillaized with Ambroxan. If you’re looking for something youthful and sweet buy the Eau de parfum. If you want something serious classic and original choose the Parfum. And if you like spices and strong masculine notes go for the Elixir. I absolutely do not recommend the Eau de parfum; it projects nothing stays skin-scent only perhaps because I tested it without alcohol. But its dry down is great and its opening is very similar to the Parfum.

  • Toño Dark

Oh my god. Damn reformulations! Very rich, masculine. But Dior has messed this one up. It lasts, at best, 4 to 5 hours. And let’s not talk about projection. What a disappointment.

  • xavi40rios

Words can’t describe this Dior masterpiece an olfactory beauty. My ex gave me so many compliments in my junior year and the year before; if I could go back to that time I wouldn’t hesitate. It smells so much like vanilla like her hair; every time I smell it I remember her. Its longevity is excellent over 12 hours on skin; without a doubt the best version. Frida if you see this I miss you a lot unfollow me on Instagram and leave your man he doesn’t love you as much as I do.

  • The perfume doesn’t fail and anyone who gets foolish should buy the original not the AliExpress version. That said this is what got me hooked on the fragrance world. Everyone likes it and it leaves no one indifferent. Is it overused? Well yes just like many others. Dior has reduced longevity just like everything else after the pandemic. It lasts its 8 hours while still leaving a trail. It creates olfactory fatigue but on clothes it lasts for days.

Dior Sauvage Parfum is to Sauvage EDT what Bleu EDP is to Bleu de Chanel EDT: a more elegant and sensual version. Here the citrus and ambroxan are more restrained giving way to a powdery and smoky tone achieving a better balance. The differences are subtle but they’re there. I like it. I haven’t tried the EDP yet but for now this version pleases me more than the Toilette which feels more intrusive and cloying. It’s all a matter of taste of course. That said the sample I used had light projection for 1 hour and then skin scent only. After 3 hours it’s barely noticeable; you have to bring your nose close. A Parfum should do better than that especially at this price point. Curiously it resembles Bleu de Chanel Parfum which also has poor longevity on my skin.

Hello. I have the 2023 100ml batch I bought at Dior. It’s the mildest of the three. The opening is tangerine with a very subtle bergamot and watch out: it lacks that peppery kick found in the EDT and EDP. It also doesn’t contain Ambroxan so the blend of Elemi sandalwood and vanilla makes it super powdery from the heart through to the dry down. The woods don’t dominate here. It misses that masculine cleanliness and crispness of the EDT and especially the EDP; it becomes cleaner reminiscent of Prada L’homme though don’t expect them to be the same) because that level of powderiness might make you think of iris (which it doesn’t have). Do women like it? Yes a lot because they smell clean and innocent… Why? Because it smells like baby powder and it’s very fitting. The longevity is good and it’s notably oily (Parfum). On skin it lasts 8 hours without extreme heat; on clothes two days. Projection is moderate but if you move around you leave an unstoppable trail. My favorite remains the EDP the crown jewel. Don’t buy on eBay or Amazon; there are many fakes out there.

  • DiegoSupertramposo

It’s a masculine, mature, versatile, and elegant perfume that can be used all year round where I live (below 25 degrees), lasting over 10 hours on skin and even days on clothes. It doesn’t bother anyone and is liked by everyone close to me; in fact, it’s one of my girlfriend’s favorites. It’s citrusy, woody, powdery, with incense and vanilla in the dry down. Although it doesn’t declare pepper, I can smell it. I don’t recommend buying it blind if you’re under 30, as current trends point to sweeter, vanilla-based aromas like those from Jean Paul Gaultier, which are good if you’re looking for that. Cheers!

  • A true masterpiece. An exquisite, elegant, and masculine aroma. The performance isn’t ‘beast mode’ but it holds its own with dignity. It’s a mature perfume with incense touches, ideal for a suit and tie, though it also looks good in casual mode.

  • I love it, I’d buy it again without doubt. In my opinion, it’s the second best in the line, just behind the Elixir Nº 1.

  • A more mature version of the original Sauvage. I’m just starting out with perfumes, and this was one of the most impressive ones. It has the wild air of the original but more mature, warm, and ambered. It reminds me of an outdoor night, with smoke and sweetness at the end. It lasts well, projects just enough, and is elegant without being rough, perfect for feeling secure without overcomplicating things.

  • I bought my second bottle a couple of years ago when 100ml cost around $200. Today I admit it seems a bit boring to me; it lost the charm of 2020 because its DNA is very massified. It’s not bad quality (lasts hours, 2021 batch), but it’s no longer novel. With 160 fragrances in my collection, I’d use it at most 3 times a year, and honestly, it didn’t excite me. PS: I enjoy it more when I smell it on someone else.

  • Opens clearly citrusy, then woody and very sweet notes emerge, even with floral nuances. It’s a good perfume with solid performance, although the scent isn’t original and is too common on the street. I feel there are better citrus options at a lower price and others better in its range, but it’s still a good aroma that never offends.

  • My opinion changed after using it a lot. Although reviewers say otherwise, the dry down has a vibe very close to the original Sauvage, without being a side note. As it fades, the citrus leaves that typical fresh EDT vibe but with a mature and refined style. It’s like mixing the masculinity of the EDT with the elegance of La Nuit.

  • Paclemale98

It’s a classic that seems invisible at first, but after letting it breathe for a few weeks, it explodes with an attractive presence lasting 6-8 hours and projecting just over a meter. Although in 2026 I feel it’s getting oversaturated and there are cheaper Dior options that innovate more, it’s still valid for winter, spring, and fall. In summer, only for night or if it’s not too hot.

  • Gonzaparfums

My go-to fragrance. I love that slightly effeminate blend with exquisite vanilla and a fresh touch; it’s a beauty for parties or special moments. The longevity and projection are good, with a moderate sillage that beats the average perfume. Recommended for all ages and temperate climates.
