This perfume makes your nose itch. The first impression hits you with bold pepper and lemon. The musk, a bit raspy, is also noticeable from the start. The backdrop is white flowers. I detect neroli, which in my mind translates to “baby powder” because of the famous Nenuco fragrance. It’s definitely a summer scent, very citrusy (much more than floral) and refreshing. It’s sharp and rough, nothing sweet or delicate. That said, as a whole, it smells clean and tidy. It reminds me of Mandarin Duck, the yellow one, which costs a quarter of the price. It doesn’t seem bad to me, simply it’s not “my cup of tea”.
I tried this perfume and ended up buying it because it’s subtle, elegant, discreet, and not intrusive at all. It has incredible longevity; you can tell it’s high quality, where the essential oils are what make it last. It can be worn daily. I perceive the citrus notes and the evolution later into the ones that describe it. It’s true that it’s expensive, but for me, price depends on quality and exclusivity. I love perfumes, I’ve tried countless ones, and I assure you this is very special and different from what you see in department stores. It’s 100% feminine.
Love at first sight. For its elegance, aura, and richness. I can’t distinguish the individual ingredients; I just get the sum of all of them forming a perfect fougère. There’s something floral and herbal in the background, but from a deep interpretation that moves far away from the literal. It’s a perfume that, like Chanel No. 5, “does things.” It creates a unique aroma that doesn’t resemble anything I’ve smelled before. I agree with the previous review: it’s very noticeable in terms of longevity and fragrance architecture; the raw materials are high quality. I discovered the legendary house Houbigant through Jardin Secret and… it was a gift.
Bought it blind and it shares the same DNA as the original, but it smells way too powdery to me. It gives me that scented doll plastic vibe, which isn’t very pleasant for my taste, though I’m sure others might love it. This is my first impression.
