I picked this up at an online outlet for under €10 and it was a total steal; Nathalie Lorson, the perfumer, is a queen, and this fragrance has earned its spot among my favorites. It’s basically powdery vanilla—super pleasant, easy to wear, and very feminine, perfect for everyday use. By the way, it helped me understand the heliotrope note much better. From the very first moment, it reminded me of Lolita Lempicka, but in a much airier, softer, and more wearable version, without that cloying sweetness. After checking the notes, I deduced the culprit was heliotrope, which was the least familiar to me. I always perceived it as violet and powdery, but researching heliotropine and other compounds, I discovered it has facets that are anise-like, cherry, and licorice. Boom! That’s when the connection to Lolita clicked. Since that fragrance felt too heavy on me over time, I love having added Or Boreal to my collection. As it dries down, it transforms and becomes absolutely rich; that heliotrope accord fades, and it feels more woody and musky, without losing the sweet vanilla and tonka. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours on my skin. It’s a sweet delicacy for almost all seasons, except the most intense summer heat, without ever becoming cloying. Scent 7.5/10, Longevity 8/10, Sillage 7/10, Value for Money 9/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
