Have you worn Vulcan Black Friday?

Tell us how it opens, how it settles on your skin, how long it lasts and when you wear it.

  1. It’s a fragrance that starts with a sweet rose smell but never becomes feminine, over time patchouli and leather gain ground, in the end it leaves a fairly sober masculine smell, nothing out of the ordinary. In my opinion maybe it’s because I started with stronger, intense and heavy perfumes. It’s a fairly masculine fragrance, once dry it’s a pretty decent leather without becoming animalic, it has a quite pleasant earthy effect and very hidden a powdery aroma. Its projection is quite wide and very long-lasting, it’s a delight because it’s an escape valve from all the perfumes I own and currently wear, which are extremely gothic and dark, or resinous. This one brings a huge difference in comparison without leaving aside that darkness I like to wear in perfumes but without being as strong as the others. There are many reviews saying it’s not for everyone but actually it’s a quite acceptable scent. It’s not very piercing and is even pleasant for enclosed spaces. Definitely to wear at night, on rainy days, for a casual night out or a flirty dinner, it’s a very distinguished scent. I liked it although it lasts very little, and its scent is very soft, I liked that too, because as I said it’s an escape from much more invasive perfumes.

  2. I don’t find it similar to Tony Iommi, its smell reminds me of Oud Touch by Franck Olivier or Encre Noire A L’Extreme, I didn’t like it.

  3. NadiaMyrrhe

Here we have a somewhat dirty, sweet leathery scent, with a rose and a patchouli both damp, projection is moderate, it’s not beast mode in terms of projection as many reviewers say, I feel it as moderate to low, though longevity is felt all day in a personal bubble between eight and ten hours. It leans more masculine but I wouldn’t mind it on a woman.

  4. Tested and compared side by side with Deified Tony Iommi Parfum by Xerjoff and I can assure you that Vulcan Black Friday is identical. Of course there is a difference and you can notice it in the quality of the raw materials used by the Italian house; however French Avenue offers us an excellent option at a much lower price and with brutal performance. Not for blind buying because it’s not a scent everyone likes, but I love it: it’s a very, very dark fragrance, recreating a gloomy almost sepulchral atmosphere, ideal for opening portals to the underworld… Well, each crazy with their own nose. Greetings to the whole community.

  5. Its particular scent may not appeal to many, for me it’s wonderful. Niche scent for very little money.

Hi, this is a niche scent for 40 euros. – Scent: It has constant evolution, it’s a different perfume in the opening than in the dry-down, in both it smells great anyway, very masculine, I’d say it’s hard to like but I’ve already shown it to 4 people and they all liked it (3 women 1 man), it’s not old-man leather or an old-fashioned smell. – Longevity: Over 8 hours and with very very very good fixation. – Sillage: Impressive, it’s the first perfume I’m afraid to overspray, not because it’s the strongest projector in my collection, but almost, but because I found it annoying to apply too much, with 4-5 sprays you’re already great. – Age: It’s not youthful, I don’t think it’s an old-man perfume or smells dated, I haven’t received any comments like that from people around me or from those I showed the fragrance to directly. – Compliments: Since it’s so different and doesn’t play it safe I see it as very polarizing. – Weather: Cold, fall and winter. – Occasions: Night, formal, stand out, if you’re older it can be more versatile. – Similarities: I haven’t smelled the fragrance it imitates, but I’ve seen many reviews and they all give an 80-90% similarity rating, I understand it’s very similar.

Big surprise with this Vulcan edition, personally I don’t get the same DNA as Tony Iommi (I have it), rather it’s something very similar to LP’s Gasoleather (I have that too), but to be honest, the Vulcan is a bit longer-lasting and with a much better atomizer than the Gasoleather. It’s like walking into an 80s auto mechanic shop on a cold but sunny day wearing a leather jacket (one of the old ones). I detect a very present gasoline note that I don’t see listed and that note lasts throughout its evolution, in my opinion. I think it’s something you can blind buy with no problem since it costs very cheap and will surely surprise you. It has that characteristic that its scent comes and goes and that keeps you from getting olfactory fatigue. It’s gotten me compliments. It’s more for cool weather but I’d wear it with no problem on a 35C day.

  8. It’s rich, it’s not wow nor anything novel because it’s in the style of nomad man or pink Armani from Arabia, a masculine fragrance with that harmony created with leather, wood and rose notes. In my experience all the fragrances I own with those notes smell very similar, this one has a slightly softer rose note which makes it more wearable compared to nomad man or pink Armani from Arabia. Like all masculine fragrances with rose, wood and leather, they smell a bit like floor wax, crayon, pencil tip and a bit like an ultra-right-wing old lady. I don’t see it for warm climates, it’s quite dense.

This is my first review on Fragrantica, I already own a perfume from the Vulcan line (Vulcan Feu), and when I saw this one was available I set out to try it with no idea of its scent. Its daring black cobra design with ruby eyes surprised me and I expected something with oud, incense or darker, more formal woods. But when I smelled the tester it was a scent that surprised me in a good way, in a very good way indeed. This perfume opens with apple freshness and a distant leather that becomes more and more intense but not more overwhelming. It’s one of the cleanest leathers I’ve ever smelled, the blend of leather and roses is impeccable. It’s not a leather that reminds you of a car tire, it’s a leather made up with roses that give it that clean and fresh touch. In my opinion I find it quite masculine because the roses don’t take the spotlight away from the leather, on the contrary they accompany and soften it throughout the fragrance. Which makes it more pleasant for others compared to a leather like Tom Ford’s.

  11. Ladies and gentlemen, we are facing the clone or dupe of what is Deified Tony Iommi Parfum from the house of Xerjoff, Do I own it? No, I’ve smelled it 4 times on a friend of mine who is crazy about the perfume, but for me, this perfume is an olfactory offense (this is my opinion, we don’t all think the same nor have the same tastes) The most prominent note is, without a doubt, Leather; not a polished and elegant leather, but a tarry, almost industrial accord that dominates the composition. The supposed rose and saffron notes are barely felt, suffocated by the density of the heart, while apple and cinnamon only manage a not-so-synthetic touch of sweetness. The wear profile is inflexible: it is aimed at a male audience, over 35 without a doubt, it gives that villain-like aura, like Batman I heard somewhere, with a vintage and defiant taste. It is only tolerable at night in cold or cool climates; in warm settings it becomes dense, oppressive and completely repulsive, projecting an untimely heaviness. As for attraction, this perfume is a definite no: its exaggeratedly potent and musty character makes it unattractive to most young women, projecting a heavy masculinity. Occasions where its loaded scent could blend in? I don’t know when I would wear it, it lasts and projects like a beast, I can’t tell you the exact time, but yes, its sillage is brutal.

No need to say more, it smells different and very good right out of the bottle.

  19. Hey, this is a niche scent for 40 euros. It smells different when fresh compared to dry down, but it’s brutal in both stages, very masculine. I tested it on four people and they all liked it (3 women, 1 man); it doesn’t even smell like old leather. It lasts over 8 hours with beastly longevity. The sillage is strong, so 4-5 sprays is already too much, I almost feel scared to wear it. It’s not for young people nor does it smell like an old man; no one has said anything weird to me. Being so bold, if you like it, people will compliment you openly, but they might also hate it. Ideal for cold, autumn, and winter at night or formal events. I haven’t smelled the original, but they say it’s 80-90% identical.

Hey, this is a niche fragrance at 40 euros. It smells different when you first spray it versus when it dries down, but it’s absolutely brutal in both stages—very masculine. I tested it on four people (three women, one man) and they all loved it; it doesn’t even smell like old leather. It lasts over 8 hours with beastly projection. The sillage is strong, so 4-5 sprays is already too much; I almost don’t dare wear it. It’s not for young guys, nor does it smell like your grandfather; no one has said anything weird. Since it’s so bold, if you like it, people will compliment you openly, but it might also be a complete miss for some. Perfect for cold weather, autumn, and winter for night or formal events. I haven’t smelled the original, but they say it’s 80-90% identical.

I expected something with oud or dark woods, but sniffing the tester brought me huge joy. It opens fresh with apple and a leather base that intensifies but isn’t overwhelming. It’s one of the cleanest leathers I’ve ever heard; the leather and rose blend is flawless. It doesn’t smell like car wheels, but rather leather dressed up with roses that give it cleanliness. I see it as very masculine because the roses complement the leather instead of overshadowing it, making it more pleasant than the Tom Ford one.

It’s nice, not a wow factor or particularly novel; it’s in the style of Homme Nomade or Armani Rosa de Arabia. It’s masculine with that mix of leather, wood, and rose. In my experience, they all smell similar, but this one has a softer, more wearable rose. Like all leather, wood, and rose combos, it smells a bit like floor wax, crayon, or pencil tip, and sometimes like ultra-right-wing old people. Not for heat, it’s quite dense.

  26. First time here on Fragantica. I already owned the Vulcan Feu, and seeing this edition with its black cobra and ruby eyes, I thought of something dark with oud or incense. I was wrong, but in a good way: it smells like fresh apple with a clean leather that intensifies without being overwhelming. It’s one of the purest leathers I’ve tried; the rose blend is impeccable—no old gas station vibes, but rather a dressed-up leather that softens the profile. I see it as very masculine because the rose accompanies the leather without stealing the spotlight, making it more pleasant for others compared to, say, Tom Ford’s.
