Another Interlude in life… almost exactly the same.
Shem by Nishane is a dense, pleasant trail loaded with geranium, rose, and cypriol. At first, it feels familiar, sharing the same intent as Arabians or Fars: very aromatic and full-bodied, here driven by rose and elemi, while the others rely on lavender and oud. I don’t understand the comparisons to Shurah or Nudiflorum. Among the three, Shem seems the weakest due to that heavy geranium and cypriol charge that never quite gel, even if the notes are high quality. The blend isn’t balanced and fails to create anything unique. I don’t think it will grab attention or feel especially elegant; it’s meant for enjoying its density, much like the concentration Boadicea uses in its bases, for personal wear. The price makes it unthinkable; it’s now on my overpriced list, though the bottle is nice. Projection is high for a few hours, then stays intense but fades; it lasts well for 6-7 hours before deconstructing into just a sweet resinous skin scent. Scent: 6.9, Projection: 7.8, Longevity: 7.4, Uniqueness: 5.7, Price: 525€ (50ml). Recommended: No.
Shem by Nishane is a dense, pleasant scent loaded with pink geranium and cypriol. At first, it feels familiar, sharing the same intent as Arabians or Fars: very aromatic and substantial, thanks to the rose and elemi here, versus lavender and oud in the others. I don’t understand the comparisons to Shurah or Nudiflorum. Among the three, Shem seems the weakest to me because that heavy load of geranium and cypriol just doesn’t blend well, even though the notes are high quality. The blend isn’t balanced and doesn’t create anything unique. I don’t think it will grab attention or feel especially elegant; it’s more for enjoying its density, like the concentration Boadicea uses in its personal-use bases. The price makes it impossible to add to my list of overpriced scents, even though the bottle is gorgeous. It projects heavily for the first two hours, then stays intense but fades, lasting about six or seven hours before leaving only a sweet resinous trace on the skin.
