I picked this up on Vinted and it’s an absolute delight. Fragrantica gets the notes wrong, but the official website says: top of strawberry and rose, heart of almond and caramel, base of vanilla and musk. It smells incredible—rich and sweet without being cloying, very pleasant, and I think many people will love it. It’s not just simple vanilla; it has more body and smells like an expensive perfume. I’m keeping it in my collection because I adore it. Even my boyfriend, who’s usually indifferent, liked it. On my skin, the trail and longevity are soft; it lingers on clothes but not as much or as intensely as other colognes. At €4, it’s a pity there’s no perfume version, as it stays quite soft on me (though others say it lasts longer), but the scent is top-tier. Highly recommended, I enjoy it so much and I’m glad I tried it 😍

It smells exactly like the Yves Rocher Vanilla perfume I used in the 90s (I think it was Vanille Bourbon, now discontinued; it’s identical). It’s a cupcake scent that I use for layering with vanilla fragrances to make them pop. For example, I mix it with Manifesto L’Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent, whose vanilla is lighter than the original. I also combine it with citrus perfumes. The other day, I mixed it with Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermès and ended up smelling like a lemon cupcake, like a ‘tartine au citron’ from a French patisserie.

If you’re going to France and miss Yves Rocher’s Vanille Bourbon, don’t hesitate to head to any supermarket (Carrefour, Leclerc, Intermarché, etc.) and grab this 110 ml Eau de Toilette for about 4 euros. It’s an exact match to the original. Every time I spray it, I’m transported back to my teens when I used to go through bottles of that scent. It smells basically like bakery vanilla. It’s simple and linear but very rich and cozy, perfect for wearing at home or before bed. For an EDT, it has an acceptable longevity of 4-5 hours and moderate sillage if you apply it generously. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 7/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value: 10/10, Versatility: 7/10, Packaging: 6/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
