  • One of the best fragrances I’ve ever tried; I don’t understand why they stopped selling it. Maybe the bottle doesn’t do it justice, which is why it wasn’t moving. It’s oriental, spicy but soft, woody, and very balanced, with light floral touches. It’s spectacular; I only have one vial left, I’ll save it to smell occasionally. Maybe I like it more because it brings back good memories, but I still give it 10. It’s very similar to Rasasi’s Dareej Men that I saw on Fragrantica; maybe the Rasasi lasts longer and has a better trail. I bought it blind based on reviews and it was a hit. I don’t usually buy dupes, but since the original Valentino is no longer available and sells for a fortune on eBay, this Rasasi is a great alternative.

  • My favorite perfume ever, it smells incredible and is super versatile. It’s a shame they stopped making it; now it costs a fortune online. I have the bottle I bought in Venezuela and it’s a gem. Luckily, I find it on Amazon, so I got samples to avoid using up the original. It lasts 5 hours on my skin, which is all I need, with a moderate trail. 10/10.

  • My favorite perfume of all time, an incredible scent. In my opinion, it’s quite versatile. The downside is that they no longer make it, and online prices are insane. I have the bottle I bought in Venezuela; it’s a gem. Luckily, you can find it on Amazon, so I got samples to avoid using up my bottle. It lasts 5 hours on my skin, which is enough for me, with a moderate sillage. 10/10.

At first, pink pepper and tamarind with soft citrus. At 5 hours, musk, amber, and sandalwood. At 10 hours, vanilla, patchouli, amber, and a touch of cocoa. At 12 hours, just musk and amber. I don’t notice the flowers they say are in the background; the heavy notes cover everything. With the 1.2 ml sample, it lasted more than 12 hours, with a firm trail that drops to skin level at the end. It’s a soft oriental, ideal for intermediate seasons and more for daytime.

  • On the endless road of fragrances I desire without a second thought, there is V by Valentino. Already in my hands and using it to full capacity as soon as I opened the sealed bottle I could get; V by Valentino reaffirms, at least in my opinion, the fame it holds. On the opening, it’s a joy to perceive the harmony of a plastic amber, dry and adorned with spices, fruits, and vanilla; the acidic twist of the opening contains a powdery, sweet tamarind-flavored cocoa and pink pepper note, which is short-lived. As it dries, it loses its positive and sexy effect to take a turn toward a powdery, sweet, and dry amber, becoming more intimate and serious. I’ve really liked it; it’s a dynamic fragrance that allows for many stories, its path is long, and it creates landscapes. The best part is that it works well in any situation and season, with autumn being its perfect frame. In its deep dry-down phase, winter is ideal. In short, I wonder if V is by Victoria?

What a great perfume! It’s a pity they discontinued it after even winning a perfume of the year award… Luckily, I have half a bottle saved that I use occasionally for special occasions. I remember the first time I smelled it; the impact was so strong that the next week I went out and bought it. It has a sweet and floral opening, quite potent. On my nose, it smells like licorice. The longevity is exaggerated and the trail is brutal; it screams for party nights. If you have the chance to try it, don’t miss out.

I found this gem at a market and couldn’t believe it; I paid 400 Mexican pesos. Now it’s in my collection.

Valentino’s V pour homme is a rare oriental with licorice that I absolutely love; proof that niche perfumes existed before they became trendy. It smells warm and fresh, tender like freshly opened baby powder, sweet and cozy. It’s like rubbing yourself with soft, persistent balm, with a sweet and powdery soul. It starts dreamy with a fruity cocktail of pepper, a great top note, but then surpasses what comes next: it becomes gourmet with a vanilla-cocoa mix that blends with jasmine, amber, and musk. It’s reserved, elegant, and masculine without being brutal. Mandarin, tamarind, and pink pepper combine perfectly with cedar and heliotrope, responsible for that floating talc tone in all phases. Highly underrated, good, and cheap, now it’s an object of cult and sells high on the resale market. If you love it but the price scares you, try Rasai’s Dareej; it’s a good alternative but more cluttered and forced, while V is rounder, finer, and more elegant.

I just wrote a review about Zimaya’s Oud is Great and it’s weird to me that it smells like V by Valentino, especially when it dries down. Zimaya is a bit sweeter, but so much that I searched for oriental reviews and stumbled upon this one xD. If you like V, this is very close. I haven’t tried the Initio one yet, which they say is its clone. Cheers.
