True Love by Elizabeth Arden

Honestly, True Love is just like Pleasure by Estée Lauder, Scape and Contradiction by Calvin Klein, Amarige by Givenchy, or the classic Dolce & Gabbana. They’re vintage perfumes solely because of their age on the market because they smell timeless; no one will tell you you smell like your grandma. Perfumes don’t have an age, even though many people today believe they do. True Love is very wearable, smells clean and soft, it’s excellent, and any woman of any age can wear it well. I love it.

I was gifted it and had been wanting to try it for a while. It’s floral, powdery, and clean, with moderate longevity and sillage. At first, it reminded me of Exclamation by Coty but toned down. I think I’ll gift it because this olfactory profile isn’t really my thing, even though people complimented me when I wore it (the same happened with Exclamation and I didn’t enjoy wearing them either 😅). A pity I can’t enjoy it more myself, as it seems the mass market likes how it wears. And it’s not as vintage as it might appear.

I thought no perfume smelled bad, I bought it blindly online because it was almost free. It smells very synthetic and doesn’t last at all. I’m just hoping it runs out or I’ll end up leaving it in the drawer of oblivion.

I haven’t bought it yet, I tried it a week ago and was pleasantly surprised. I never imagined that scent. I thought it would be cloying; the name itself seemed too romantic to the point of being sickening, but I was surprised by a soapy, clean, slightly creamy aroma. Unfortunately, it lasts very little on my skin; for some reason, Arden perfumes don’t stick. A pity with such beautiful fragrances.

First things first, I’m not an expert in notes or anything else, just a perfume enthusiast and lover of all types of fragrances. What can I say about True Love! I bought it just for the price, since it was heavily discounted online and had good reviews. Tremendous fiasco… Definitely every nose and every skin is different. I felt it was too synthetic and the opening reminds me of hairspray (Roby fixative). I’m trying to sell or swap it, but it’s difficult; it’ll end up as an air freshener.

I bought it by mistake and couldn’t return it. At first, I didn’t get it, but after 4 years and only 3 uses, I now see it as an ethereal, soft yet noticeable fragrance. It has that creamy, soapy, astringent facet that evokes cleanliness and delicacy. Perfect for bedtime or waking up with fresh air, without trying too hard to seduce. Whoever smells it will sense that calming aura of talcum-powdered green floral. Lasts almost 4 hours on skin and projects for about 1.5 hours.

Exceptional softness and I love the delicacy of the scent. They say it’s vintage, but I feel it’s timeless. It’s perfect for after a shower, in a mountain climate, or in autumn.

It has a vintage style and I didn’t like it. I thought it would be sweet, creamy, clean, and modern, but it smells like an old, heavy perfume. I wouldn’t buy it again.

I bought it blindly on sale and loved it. I don’t notice the vintage vibe; it smells exactly like the blue Nivea cream, meaning a beautiful clean scent. I’d buy it again for daily wear, for work, or a daytime date, but in weather that’s not too hot, more like late summer or spring. It’s for those who love the scent of clean soap or cream.

I love this brand; the quality of everything is excellent. I really like this one for work; it lasts a long time on the skin and has good projection. It’s very feminine, floral like a cream.

😌 How can you forget it was my first perfume? I wore it during my nursing internship at university 👩⚕️. Back then, I loved it: floral, sweet, slightly powdery. You can detect a hint of sandalwood and vanilla, even a touch of leather. It really transports me back to that time, making it feel like I’m smelling it again in my memories. I highly recommend it, even though my tastes have shifted toward fresher notes now. It’s good and affordable.

It’s a refined, rich delight, so delicate and well-structured, but it doesn’t last long and has very weak sillage. I still have a bottle I bought 12 years ago; it fermented a bit, but it still doesn’t last much. It’s still available and worth having just because it smells so good.

I share the opinion that it’s definitely not for older people; rather, it seems like a childish fragrance made for an adult. On my skin, it’s very soft and delicate, pity that it doesn’t have much longevity (at least on my skin). I like to wear it on relaxed days, sunny spring afternoons, or after a shower before starting the day; I wouldn’t wear it at night because it would go unnoticed. It’s not one of my favorites; maybe I wouldn’t buy it again because, despite everything, I don’t find anything special about it to repeat.

It’s simply wonderful. I don’t see it as a fragrance for older ladies; on the contrary, I think it suits young girls. It’s floral and sweet with a tiny acidic touch, nothing gourmand—that wasn’t a thing in the 90s yet. Perfect for good weather, it has no pretensions, it’s carefree and natural. The original bottle was square with two interlaced rings, so Elisabeth Arden proposed it for a happy, calm, and in-love woman. The problem is that longevity was already lacking since its 1994 launch, without any need for reformulation; however, the price is negligible, so it makes up for it. Another wonderful creation by Sophia Grojsman.

Smells like liquid talcum powder with roses, almost like in a baby store; smells nice but I wouldn’t buy it again, though for the price I might reconsider. The longevity is minimal; on my skin, it doesn’t last more than two hours.
