I discovered that Tribute Blue isn’t autumnal; it’s strictly winter. When it’s truly cold, between -2 and 9 degrees, the perfume changes. The cold tightens its structure and brings out all its character. The woods become creamy, and the amber rounds everything off with elegance. If Margiela is the chestnut stall, this is a noble wood salon, low light, and expensive coat. More masculine, refined, and adult. After months, the liquid didn’t age; my nose did. Over time, you learn to smell better and understand layers that once seemed like one thing. This perfume doesn’t reveal itself at first; it only shows up when your nose is ready. The name can be misleading, but there’s intent: the ‘Blue’ isn’t freshness; it’s a deep, warm, nocturnal blue, like L’Eau Bleue, which brings introspection and calm. At first, I looked for comparisons, but over time it has its own footprint. For under 50€, it offers a private perfumery experience without harshness or cheap chemical dry-down. Although I tried Oud for Greatness by Initio and they are brothers (sharing DNA, but Initio uses more saffron and this one more amber), I stick with Tribute Blue; it’s kinder and more wearable. It doesn’t seek to please everyone, but to accompany those who know how to wait for the right moment. In winter, when others fade away, this shines with sober elegance. A perfect name: it’s a tribute to patience, discernment, and a well-understood cold.

I discovered Tribute Blue isn’t just autumnal; it’s strictly winter. When it really drops, between -2 and 9 degrees, the perfume transforms. The cold tightens its structure and reveals its character: creamy woods and rounded amber. If By the Fireplace by Margiela is the chestnut stall, Tribute Blue is a noble wood salon and an expensive coat. More masculine, refined, and adult. After months, the liquid hasn’t mellowed; my nose has. Learning to smell better and separate layers. Tribute Blue doesn’t give itself away at first, only when your nose is ready. The ‘Blue’ isn’t freshness; it’s a deep, warm, nocturnal blue, like L’Eau Bleue d’Issey. At first I looked for comparisons, but it has its own footprint. For under €50 it plays in high leagues, without harshness or cheap chemical dry-down. After trying Oud for Greatness by Initio, they are siblings: Initio with saffron, Afnan with amber. I stick with Tribute Blue, it’s kinder. It doesn’t seek to please everyone, it accompanies those who know how to wait. In winter, when others fade, this shines with sober elegance. A perfect name: a tribute to patience and properly understood cold.

I bought it blind, reading reviews comparing it to the original Cacharel Pour Homme, one of my all-time favorites (which doesn’t resemble the current version), and Loewe 7. The truth is, I have no regrets. It’s delicious, but honestly, it reminds me more of Loewe 7 Anonyme. After a few days, I noticed a cedar note in the dry-down very similar to Adolfo Domínguez’s Citrus Cedro. I’d love someone to confirm this; I was surprised. The opening notes are everything I love from Loewe and the vanished Cacharel: lots of pepper and clove, in a dry and elegant version that also reminded me of Comme des Garçons’ Blackpepper. Special mention to the packaging, which weighs like a kilo. Great purchase. Ideal for making an impact on cold or fresh days, especially at night. Prepare for compliments.

This fragrance stands apart from generic profiles, projecting mature masculinity and great distinction. It smells clean, dry, and elegant, dominated by warm woods and subtle incense. It lacks the sweetness of youthful fragrances, offering instead deep sophistication. It conveys seriousness, experience, and contained mystery. It’s very versatile and performs well: it works in any season and context, from work to formal events or daily wear. It has solid fixation and projection; it’s a very reliable option. Verdict: Tribute Blue is the ideal choice for the gentleman seeking a versatile, characterful, and proven-performance aroma that reflects maturity and authority.

It stands out from generic profiles, projecting mature masculinity and class. Olfactorily, it’s clean, dry, and elegant, featuring warm woods and a subtle incense note. Without that youthful sweetness, it offers deep sophistication, seriousness, and mystery. It’s versatile: works in any season, from the office to formal events. Fixation and projection are solid and very reliable. Verdict: Tribute Blue is ideal for the gentleman seeking a versatile, characterful fragrance with great performance that reflects maturity and authority.

  6. Slipped into my collection without making a fuss and became addictive instantly, dethroning my signature. Incredibly versatile: night, mild summer, or winter, it handles everything (though not for sports). Medium projection but it clings to the skin. Masculine, kind, sexy without being sweet, that perfect spot between clean and ‘almost dirty’. Reminds me of Narciso Blue Noir. If a woman smelled it, I’d be shocked but ask her to marry me. Hard to find, costs €40, and is one of my best buys. Scent: 9, Projection: 7, Longevity: 8.5.

The Afnan Tribute Blue is a unisex that deserves more fame. It starts fresh and spicy, with bergamot mixed with nutmeg and Jamaica pepper. In the heart, amber and cashmere wood add warmth, while musk, white wood, incense, and vetiver close it off with a strong, long-lasting trail. It evolves a lot, works for everything, but in the cold is its true moment. It smells rich and complex, mixing sophistication with an oriental market vibe. Very good longevity and original.

Bought it blind, comparing it to the original Cacharel (which isn’t the same anymore) and Loewe 7. No regrets, it’s delicious. Smells more like Loewe 7 Anonyme to me, and as it dries down, it sounds like Adolfo Domínguez’s Cedar, which surprised me. The top notes are what I love from Loewe and the old Cacharel: lots of pepper and clove, dry and elegant, like CdG’s Blackpepper. The packaging weighs a kilo. Ideal for cold nights, prepare for compliments.

  9. One of the few ‘blue’ fragrances that doesn’t smell mass-produced. It has personality; it’s not an exact clone, though it smells like the Loewe reference. The opening is a bit sharp (nutmeg), but the dry-down is very pleasant and evolves beautifully. Extremely long-lasting on skin and clothes. It’s a classic for the collection and works great as a signature scent (perfect for daytime or the office for me). Excellent value for money ($25 on sale).

One of the few ‘blues’ that doesn’t smell like mass-produced. It has personality; it’s not an exact clone even though it resembles Loewe. The opening is a bit sharp (nutmeg), but the dry-down smells great and evolves throughout the day. Very long-lasting on skin and clothes. What a beauty! When I lost hope of recovering the original Cacharel, which designers have betrayed, I found this tribute multiplied and improved. It’s so potent I use it for parties and romance. It generates compliments and is impossible to go unnoticed. People ask me to stop recommending it to keep it exclusive. Maybe that’s why there are few reviews. It’s so special people don’t want it to become mass-market.

  12. I bought it today. Although I don’t know the Loewe 7, I sense a slight resemblance to Miyake Blue. It has a mentholated and sweaty accord, an opening that’s a bit sharp but not annoying; however, the dry-down is something else. The performance is noticeably good. I’ll test it properly over the next few days, but for now, I have no complaints.

I own several Afnan fragrances, and this one is excellent. I’ll admit, I didn’t like it at first, but after months of wearing it, I find it exquisite and addictive. It’s woody, incense-heavy, with a very mature, masculine scent. Lasts 10 hours on skin and is perfect for the office; it evokes distinction and leadership.

What a rich, powerful, and manly scent! Longevity and projection are top-notch. At first, I didn’t like it; it smelled like body odor or something sexual, maybe due to the musk, but now I love it and can’t stop smelling it. It’s not linear; the dry-down is marvelous.

Spiced and oriental profile but fresh, sounds weird but it is. Great for the office or events, though to me it smells like +30°C and doesn’t fit. If not for that, it would be my scent of the year. Afnan nailed something original that enriches my nose.

Hello, according to reviews it smells like Loewe 7, but since I own all versions (Sport, Natural, Anonyme, 7, Silver, and Elixir), for me it leans more towards the 7 Elixir, just with less trail and projection.

  17. Wonderful. It doesn’t smell like the Loewe 7, neither the new nor the old version—I own both. It’s more like an Azzaro Visconti with extra pepper and that intense blue note typical of Afnan.
