Sublime by Aura Perfume

Recipe: 70% Ani + 20% Vanille Orchidee + 10% Shalimar + lemon zest = Aura Sublime. Pros: Rich, wintery amber-citrus, enveloping, addictive, sweet without being cloying, with an adult, slightly balsamic vanilla at the start (hence the Nishane recall) but without spices or ginger. You can tell it’s made perfectly. It’s not spicy, but huggable and tender. Exceptional quality. Refined and elegant, works for any season, person, or place, a manual all-rounder. Unisex. The tonka is similar to Van Cleef’s, perhaps with less sugar and more vanilla plus a chocolatey part. It also reminds me of Lira, but isn’t as sweet or as fresh with lavender. It’s not intrusive; I can’t imagine anyone finding it annoying. Cons: If you have Ani and don’t want to spend much on this profile, it’s redundant. Though I’m selling advice, I have all of it😃. It’s not very potent (didn’t let it macerate, will see) and if it were, I’d edit this review in two months. It smells like classic powder soap or Shalimar and has an anise opening that fades quickly. I don’t like anise. It’s very expensive for its performance (130€/30ml.). Although Ani’s longevity is also poor (2021 batch), I prefer it to AS. Sillage and projection are on the low side.

Aura Sublime has a sweet citrus opening that quickly transitions to a powdery vanilla, with no sharp edges or animalic notes on my nose, despite the musk and ambergris base. I love how it makes me feel: it’s a delicate, comforting hug. It seems a bit more feminine, but within the unisex realm. It’s very versatile, not overwhelming, and works well in many situations. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours. Curiously, it gives me a mild allergy sometimes (redness in certain spots, not always, and randomly), but I still use it from time to time and am going through a decant. It’s just that pleasant. Aura Sublime is enchanting from the first sniff. It’s a composition based on vanilla and citrus, accompanied minimally by cinnamon and a subtle touch of iris via ionones that rounds out and shapes the whole. A clear example that sometimes less is more. These notes, very pleasant in themselves, harmonize perfectly to create a scent that is close, warm, and cozy. It can remind you quite a bit of Musc Ravageur, drinking from the influence of Shalimar. However, the higher citrus load and lower amount of cinnamon and spicy components make this proposal something more youthful and carefree. Although it’s unisex and I enjoy it on my skin, I think due to its delicacy and abundance of vanilla, it may appeal more to a female audience. It’s a fragrance worth knowing because it really manages to generate that sublime aura.

I picked it up blind over a year ago, super excited for my first niche vanilla and how rich it is 😍. It’s like a vanilla dessert with citrus, very well accompanied by iris, ambergris, and musk. 😍😍 I absolutely love it. It’s an extrait, and in my case, I let it macerate a bit and it improved; now it’s one of the best in terms of performance and scent. If you like sweet but elegant vanilla, more formal and well-made, give it a try. They say I smell like food 😁😁. Will I repurchase? Definitely ❤️

I’m testing a sample that arrived, and honestly, I love it. What I feel most is the sweet tone of the vanilla, ambergris, and benzoin, which contrasts beautifully with some citrus touches that give it a very special point. The base reminds me a bit of classic colognes, like Aqua di Parma or even the dry-down of Aventus, mixed with a scent that smells a lot like plastic dolls. It’s a vanilla fragrance but different, not excessively sweet and quite discreet. I see it as ideal for moderate or cool weather, and perhaps better for evening than daytime use. The scent quality is outstanding. Scent: 10, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 6, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 7, Overall: 9.
