Noble Santal used to be a benchmark for sandalwood, with an opening of coffee and frankincense that really hit hard. In the middle, the spiced sandalwood felt elegant and sweet thanks to the vanilla and patchouli, which gave body and density to that woody base; as it dried, it turned almost oriental with that amber touch. At the end, it always reminded me of Sables, but after the reformulations, it’s now weak and watery compared to the original version. Rating for the original: 8. Rating for the current version: 6.
