I bought it blindly on the brand’s website while exploring niche perfumes. I’ve tried around 150 so far; some surprised me for the better, others for the worse, but most left me indifferent, which is unforgivable in the niche world where prices are high and they’re supposed to outshine traditional luxury fragrances. That’s not the case with Fraîche Passiflore. The beauty of this tropical fruity scent is immense; its peach, raspberry, and tarragon notes blend masterfully at first, and when the passionfruit kicks in, pure magic happens—a tropical explosion I haven’t smelled in any other perfume. It’s said to have jasmine (though barely noticeable) and a hint of pepper or paprika, which I don’t particularly appreciate on their own, but I think they help amplify that wild fruity character. The sandalwood and musk base has just the right presence, which I love because nothing is as disorienting as a fragrance that starts one way and ends up completely different, making you wonder if it’s even the same scent. Longevity is quite good, though not beast-mode, and the trail is subtle and wonderful, radiating pure joy with that soft natural sweetness typical of real fruits, not the added sugary notes found in trendy gourmands that aren’t my style. In short, I’m head over heels for this gorgeous perfume; I wish I’d discovered it sooner.
