Warm and spicy, that’s Rococo. It starts with very clear bergamot and frankincense, but then the frankincense fades and resins, dark cocoa, and lots of clove take over. The powdery touch of heliotrope is just a whisper. The result is dry and unisex to my nose. Moderate trail, lasts about 8-9 hours. It’s a bit like Jungle L’Elephant or Gold Noir, but lighter, less sweet, and with that cocoa the others lack. Delicious perfume with good performance; I’d add it to my wishlist when I finish something that reminds me of it, though I’d prefer more sweetness in this style. Scent 7/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 5/10, Versatility 7/10, Packaging 10/10. Would I buy again? I haven’t bought it yet.

I guess it’s not called Quezalt because Venice didn’t trade much with pre-Columbian Mexico during its golden age. This smells like Mexican mole: thick, resinous, and animalic. Deep and enveloping, unisex but with a masculine edge. It opens very chocolatey, but then the resins take over, giving it a slightly dirty vibe, like in chocolate factories: rich but with a background of burnt fat. Over time, that dirtiness fades, leaving an interesting resinous cocoa that becomes sweeter with the benzoin. A beautiful winter perfume, perfect for special occasions, though not forbidden for daily wear in cold weather. It projects and lasts a long time. Among the chocolate scents I’ve tried, this is the best—it doesn’t smell like dessert or plastic; you can tell it’s high quality. The price is outrageous; I hope they release a sample set for the premium line, because everything I’ve tried is worth it. Pleasant: 8/10, Interesting: 8/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 9/10.

Wow, I hit the jackpot with this one. I bought it just because it was on sale. The Merchant of Venice didn’t convince me before—I own two other scents from the house and they left me cold—but Rococo changed my mind. The opening is a bit confusing, but within seconds you detect the incense, cloves, lavender, a rich base floral, and a soft cocoa that balances everything perfectly. It knocked me off my feet. It’s excellent: dense, spicy, deep, and pleasurable. I see this for night outs or special events; it would be a waste for work. It needs to be dressed up and dignified; it’s almost imperial. Best for mature people 30 and up, formal wear. Scent 10/10, Sillage 9/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 9/10. Highly recommended.
