  • First off, the bottle is the most queer thing I’ve seen in years, and I love it 😀 As for the scent, it opens with ylang on my skin but quickly shifts to sticky, green neroli with a citrusy, powdery touch from bergamot, tangerine, and iris. Over time, the sparkling notes fade and the neroli becomes more serious and enveloping. The projection is atomic and lasts about 6 hours with a single drop on the wrist. I’m not a neroli fan, but I have to admit that even though it didn’t conquer me in the decant, I returned to the perfumery the next day to test it on my skin; I realized the addictive smell in my bag came from the decant of Imperial Emerald I’d left there without noticing. It’s super floral, sweet, and very feminine, reminding me of 90s florals (in fact, it smells a lot like Amarige). The composition is well-balanced for any season or occasion to radiate joy. Edit 12/7/2022: I’m testing it in full summer and like it less. The heat makes the citrus notes disappear, letting the lily (which smells like old clothes to me) dominate along with the vanilla and musk base. The mix smells like a cosmetics bag, a bit dusty and dense, so it feels heavy for summer, especially if it’s humid. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 5/10

  • It’s a bomb. If you’re obsessed with floral scents featuring neroli, creamy, powerful, and character-driven notes, you won’t regret it. To my nose, it smells like YSL’s Supreme Bouquet and Vert Malachite (as if Imperial swapped the jasmine from the latter for neroli). I own all three, and if I had to keep just one, honestly, I wouldn’t know which to throw away first. It’s elegant, intense, lasts forever, projects from afar, and people always ask about it. For me, it shines more in cold weather than in heat; I admit it’s potent and can be a bit overwhelming in summer. Definitely niche, with a spectacular bottle that deserves the best spot in your collection.
