It smells a bit boozy to me, though I’m not exactly sure why, but it reminds me of Encre Noire Extreme and sometimes Bentley for Men Intense.
Great for temperate and cold climates, it has a serious yet intriguing aura. It opens with woody leather and a touch of incense. What I love most is the thyme, which gives it an unexpected twist and makes it unisex rather than masculine. Curiously, the same house has a cheaper clone; Craquele is the drier version of Byzantium Saffron. While it’s a good perfume, it’s one of the least favorites I have from the brand. Craquele follows Liberty’s footsteps but adds a unique twist with floral oriental notes, incense, and cypress. It starts elegantly with saffron and leather, then releases violet and spicy thyme. It left a great impression: it smells good, projects well, and has a strong trail. I could still detect it on my skin after 12 hours. Ideal for cool days or when you want to pull off a polished look. Unisex, perfect for those over 30. Scent: 9.5/10, Trail: 8/10, Projection: 8/10, Longevity: 9/10
