Unbearable opening, intense and feminine.
A different fragrance, not for blind buying. The yellow floral and the opening aren’t what you’d expect. The nutmeg gives it an aromatic touch with a lot of character, making it difficult, moving it away from the feminine side and focusing it on unisex.
It’s a distinct fragrance; I don’t recommend buying it blind. The yellow floral opening and nutmeg give it a very strong aromatic character with its own personality. This makes it complex, moving it away from the feminine side and placing it clearly in unisex territory.
I just received it and it’s an instant reminder of Ange où Démon by Givenchy, only the leather note is more pronounced… and that’s exactly what I wanted! It’s powerful and present, not as dark as they paint it. The floral nuances are well-blended and give it a certain candor, placing it in elegant unisex territory for evening. It has excellent longevity, more than 10 hours on the skin, and I suppose it will stick to clothes for a long time. A successful blind buy given my tastes. Enjoy!
It arrived exactly like my memory of Ange où Démon by Givenchy, but with a more pronounced leather note—exactly what I was looking for. It’s powerful and commanding, less dark than some say, with well-integrated flowers that give it a fresh, elegant touch. Perfect for evening or night. It lasted over 10 hours on my skin, and I’m sure it lingers on clothes even longer. A great blind buy for my taste. Enjoy!
At first, it smells nice—like dried fruits with citrus and roses—but that lasts about 15 minutes. Then, as it dries down, in my opinion, it smells like cockroach repellent; it gives me the chills just smelling it. It has a mysterious aura, but that acidic leather note is something I hate.
Wow, a wonderful opening with a very pleasant fruity scent. You can tell there’s rose, even if it’s subtle. As it dries down, a light leather and a touch of incense appear, very appropriate for going out at night. I’ll keep using it to see its performance and longevity better.
The opening smells great, like dried fruits with citrus and roses, but that lasts about 15 minutes. Then, as it dries down, in my opinion, it smells like cockroach repellent; it gives me chills just smelling it. It creates a mysterious aura, but that acidic leather isn’t to my liking.
To me, it’s totally feminine. After eight months of oxidation, it’s sweet with woody touches. I applied it yesterday at 5:30 PM and can still smell it at 9:30 AM today. Incredible.

Yesterday at a perfumery, seeing such a beautiful bottle, I went straight to smell it. It reminded me a lot of Ange ou Demon, so I bought it. I compared it on my wrists with both: yes, they’re similar. There are notes, I think leather and nutmeg, that dominate both and give the sensation of being the same perfume, but they’re not. Ange ou Demon is more complex, richer, and feminine, with a sweetness that adds delicacy, something Philos Opus Noir lacks. Noir does carry a woman (I am one and I wear it without compunction), but the leather makes it as masculine as it is feminine. Ange ou Demon has more power and sillage, something I wish the Givenchy one had. If you have Ange ou Demon and feel it lacks power, buy Philos Opus Noir, which is super affordable, to boost it. This perfume has everything Ange ou Demon was missing.
This is a monster in terms of longevity. The problem is that, for some reason I’m not sure if it’s the ylang-ylang, it gives my wife stomach pain. I look for perfumes that make her want to come closer to me.
It starts with slightly fermented fruits that give way to nutmeg. The leather is rich but tends to hide on my skin. Beastly performance; it saturates the room for hours. It’s hard to distinguish the notes, but it smells like ambered leather with citrus, roses, and resinous woods like incense. I disagree with other comments: on my skin, it’s totally feminine—not a cheerful woman’s scent, but that mysterious woman in black who only smiles for photos. The nutmeg is very potent, sweet, and paired with rose, nothing salty or spicy. I don’t recommend buying blind, especially if you’re a beginner or don’t believe in unisex scents. It’s not a street scent, especially not with today’s olfactory trends. It’s not for someone looking for a grandmotherly, patriarchal perfume.
It repels me the moment I apply it. I admit it’s quite intense and very floral at first, but personally, I just don’t like it. My wife also thought it smelled bad.
It gives me immediate rejection when I apply it. The intensity is brutal, and the opening is very floral, but honestly, it’s not for me. My wife hasn’t approved it either.
