Descripción
Le Labo's Patchouli 24 is a woody-chypre fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2006, this olfactory composition was created by Annick Menardo. The top note features an intense patchouli; the heart reveals the freshness of birch and styrax; while the base settles on a warm, enveloping vanilla.

It has a very prominent accord that reminds me too much of the smell of smoked sausage, something I find both disgusting and hilarious. I don’t think I would ever wear it.
This is patchouli with leather and a smoky note that dominates for most of the time, then shifts to a vanilla and amber base that intensifies toward the end. It’s an exquisite perfume but extremely invasive; two sprays fill the entire room. Not for everyone.
Patchouli 24 will be immortalized as my first Le Labo, and I have a special affection for it. It opens with an intense, earthy, smoky patchouli that is impossible to miss; I wish it lasted a bit longer before transitioning into a balsamic, woody, tar-like heart over an exquisite vanilla base. What stands out most is that it never smells synthetic, and on my skin, it has an absurd longevity: it stays until the shower washes it away. Longevity: 10+, Sillage: 8.5, Scent: debatable. Final rating: 9.5+ because its only weak point is the price.
It’s a must-have in my olfactory wardrobe. Not versatile, but incredibly evocative. Smells like burnt and smoky wood, reminiscent of that “birch tar” shampoo a pharmacist used to make for my mom over 30 years ago. It’s not a fragrance that draws people in or earns compliments; instead, people often scrunch their noses and ask what you’re wearing. I keep it for my own intimate moments. I can’t live without it. I adore it. To give you an idea, it falls somewhere along the lines of Naomi Goodsir’s Bois d’Ascèse, though they don’t resemble each other much if my brain is making that association.
