Descripción
Oud by Reminiscence is a spicy oriental fragrance from the olfactory family, created in 2012 by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. This composition, designed for men and women, unfolds an olfactory pyramid where the top notes feature bergamot, cardamom, and oud; the heart reveals a bouquet of jasmine, rose, and sandalwood; while the base notes settle on a bed of vanilla, amber, and patchouli.

Reminiscence Oud is the gem I found among oud fragrances. I received it as a 5ml decant and was left speechless. It’s unlike the others I’ve tried like M7 Interlude Black Afgano Dior Homme Parfum or Dunhill Absolute; this one has something unique that makes me feel like I’ve known it before. For me it’s not just a scent—it’s a journey back in time to those first times entering a church or walking with family and grandparents. It brings to mind the smells of forests gardens and hearths all that green smoky incense-filled atmosphere I love so much. Woods are another weakness of mine and here they are at their peak. Discovering it was a great satisfaction; it made me very happy the few times I wore it. Unfortunately it runs out quickly but no other perfume has achieved that immediate connection. It’s love at first sniff. I detect a dirty chocolatey highly refined and intense oud that lasts all day and maybe longer on clothes. With two or three sprays you’re more than enough so don’t overapply or it can become cloying; it’s quite sweet. It’s also smoky spicy and aromatic with a Middle Eastern food scent mixed with incense or church vibes. Ideally wear it in autumn or winter. It’s a bit like Zara’s Exclusive Oud but not as strong. It was beautiful to experience; within it lie many representations of life like a landscape or a magical afternoon that evokes memories of the past or future moments perhaps the best in matters of the heart. It brings a smile to my face when I remember it. I admit I fell in love like a blue and fuchsia sunset or the beginning of autumn in March or April. The peace of enjoying those moments with just your perfume is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. There are perfumes that produce so many lovely things they just need to speak. It’s not available in Argentina what a shame. If anyone has some to sell or knows of similar fragrances I’m all ears—send a message. I want to feel it on my skin again and travel back to those sunsets or to the first scents of the past that are in my heart and will always be there. What a crazy feeling right? We forget so many things but not scents.
