Descripción

Heliotrope by Reminiscence is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2013, this composition features an olfactory pyramid that begins with fig top notes and green accents; the heart reveals a harmony of almond, heliotrope, patchouli, sandalwood, and cedar; while the base settles on a warm foundation of vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin, and musk.

Heliotrope Reminiscence is complex, not suitable for sensitive noses, and absolutely not for blind buys; I love it, but I’m a fan of intense, complex perfumes that break the mold. The first impression is herbal; if I appreciate the fig, it’s a green one with its leaves, but tonka bean, almond, heliotrope, and the vanilla that captivates me so much immediately take over. Benzoin is also very present, fusing with the other notes to feel similar to coconut, while patchouli gives it a sweet, gentle touch. The woods take away a bit of its untamable character, adding sophistication. It’s very oriental, sexy, and shakes the senses, but it’s not for everyone; its longevity and sillage worked perfectly, about 6 to 8 hours (I was pleasantly surprised). The last thing to appear as it fades is a beautiful heliotrope powder. I recommend it; it’s beautiful, but for blind buys, nooooooooo, test it first.

Heliotrope is an uncomplicated, hyper-sweet potion that makes an impact from start to finish. Its opening, beautifully paired with a fig that tastes like dripping syrup under the sun, blends with precious, hyper-realistic green notes. Minutes later, it frenetically yields to almond (with that fascinating bitter-sweet tone), a hostess who stays to invite tonka bean as her consort. To give them stature, a characteristic powdery heliotrope closes out this tremendous bacchanal. It’s an imperious almond-sweet fragrance; if you love that component, you’ve got your climax here. With it, we become bees buzzing around figs and almond trees in a forbidden garden only for the most gourmands. I’m totally mesmerized by that scent of powdery almonds; a very fine perfume. I love it, thanks Fragantica. ADD: I adore it more every day, what a wonder of almond, fig, and tonka… Celestial, it’s an addiction, you can’t ask for more.

It’s a very special perfume. It feels floral at times and in others you feel the almond, very creamy and sweet due to its vanilla accompaniment. It seems like a romantic scent. At times it seems like a very natural coconut note comes out. The projection is good and the longevity is about 5 hours, though you perceive it all the time.

I start by thanking Cnidaria for sharing a decant of this marvel <3 A couple of years ago, I had the honor of receiving one of Les Notes Gourmandes, with Guimauve being my signature and I was fascinated by it, so I had a cat-like curiosity for its sisters. I feel honored to be the fourth review of this beauty. Heliotrope gave me an olfactory journey worthy of a fairy tale. Upon touching my skin, it gave me a bag of candied almonds that, if I weren't allergic, I would have eaten without thinking. That edible scent would take me back to Hansel and Gretel. The fig added a Christmas-candy touch, and the heliotrope, a mediator between flowers and sweets, achieved a sublime balance. Suddenly, I felt part of the French royalty, ready to have tea at Versailles. It's a distinguished, sweet, and elegant scent, like princesses who keep their hearts intact. It has a sillage that gently kisses those who cross your path. It accompanied me from morning to night and decided to extend its vigil until dawn. Plus, a surprise that almost made me cry: Heliotrope smells almost exactly like my L by Lolita Lempicka, my perfume of memories with my great love. They share 4 notes: vanilla, sandalwood, musk, and tonka bean. I felt grateful to catch that unexpected scent. I slept in peace and upon waking, I still had that peace inside. Definitely I will look to convert the decant into a full bottle <3 Scent: 10/10 Sillage: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Presentation: 10/10

I start by thanking Cnidaria for sharing a decant of this marvel <3 A couple of years ago, I had the honor of receiving one of Les Notes Gourmandes, with Guimauve being the jewel that became my signature fragrance, and fascinated, I had a huge cat-like curiosity for its two sisters. I feel so honored and excited to be the fourth review of this beauty that my hands are trembling, but I'll continue... Heliotrope gave me an olfactory journey worthy of a fairy tale to read before bed. Upon touching my skin, the gentle Heliotrope gave me a whole bag of candied almonds that, if I weren't allergic, I would have eaten without thinking twice. That edible scent would take you back to Hansel and Gretel's candy house. The fig gave that touch of Christmas sweetness, and the heliotrope, mediator between flowers and sweets, achieved a sublime and elegant balance. Suddenly, I felt part of the French royalty, ready to have spring tea in the Versailles garden. Heliotrope is distinguished and elegant. It's not one of those sweets that cloy nor one of those majestic scents that smell like a 90-year-old queen. It's a feminine, sweet, and elegant scent, like those princesses who keep their hearts intact. It has a sillage that gently kisses those who cross your path, making their eyes try to search for where that heavenly scent comes from... a scent that, as a faithful guardian, accompanied me from morning to night and, not wanting to leave me alone in that dark night, decided to extend its vigil until dawn. But it didn't just leave me that pleasant surprise, but another one that almost made me overflow with tears. One of my favorites is Lolita Lempicka's L. Two years ago, I got a partial bottle I only used with the man I've loved the most. When we took different paths, I stopped using it. Besides evoking a bittersweet memory, so little liquid remains that I could only manage about 5 applications. L always transported me to the best memories, like peeking out at a Pensieve in Harry Potter. It's hard for me to get another bottle, so I treasure what little remains. Entering the night as Heliotrope, my faithful guardian, gave me a surprise that turned my heart into a soft mass: it started to smell almost exactly like my beloved L. I had to sniff the atomizer of L to be sure it wasn't a joke and my nose didn't deceive me. They had very similar scents. I see they share 4 notes: vanilla, sandalwood, musk, and tonka bean. I have no idea how grateful I felt to catch that scent unexpectedly and without trying to evoke memories of my great love. I slept with the most peaceful dreams, and upon catching its scent upon waking, I still had that huge peace inside. Definitely, I'll look to make Heliotrope part of my family. From that day begins my search to turn the decant into a full bottle <3 Scent: 10/10, Sillage: 10/10, Longevity: 10/10, Presentation: 10/10.

I met this beauty thanks to sopagobe. Thanks, Sofia. It’s a powdered marzipan, delicious. If you like Lolita Lempicka’s L, you’ll love this one. It kicks the pants off many perfumes I own, so now it’s among my favorites. I agree that it reminds me of an 18th-century Frenchwoman eating marzipan at a patisserie. I give it a ten.

I discovered this beauty thanks to sopagobe. Thanks, Sofía! It’s powdered marzipan, absolutely delicious—if you like Lolita Lempicka’s L, you’ll adore this. It outshines many other perfumes in my collection, so it’s now one of my favorites. I agree it reminds me of an 18th-century Frenchwoman enjoying marzipan at a patisserie. I give it a solid 10!

  • I love this perfume and my olfactory friends on Fragrantica have described it perfectly; I take my hat off to them. But I want to highlight that it’s like heaven…, unlike anything else. Dripping sweet fig, realistic and hyper-natural, with very good performance. I barely notice the patchouli and it’s fine, hey! With the sleep test, it’s still there upon waking… with heavenly gasps and sighs. It’s extremely sweet, a full-on gourmand, but there’s always a hint of freshness, probably the fig tree or its leaves. Sometimes it gets cloying, even though I enjoy my gourmands… In the end, it was a blind buy and I’m totally satisfied. I’m itching to try Guimauve and Dragee from the same collection. Greetings to everyone!

  • I absolutely love this perfume, and my Fragrantica friends have described it perfectly—I take my hat off to their reviews. But I want to emphasize that it’s like heaven… unlike any other scent. It’s dripping sweet fig, hyper-realistic and naturally beautiful, with great performance. That said, I barely detect any patchouli, and that’s totally fine! After a sleep test, it’s still there in the morning, with heavenly puffs and sighs. Despite how extremely sweet it is—this is a full-on gourmand—there’s always a hint of freshness, probably from the fig tree or its leaves. I will admit, sometimes it overwhelms me, even though I enjoy gourmands… In the end, it was a blind buy and I’m completely satisfied. I’m eager to try or pick up Guimauve and Dragee from the same collection. Cheers to everyone!

  • Heliotrope smells magical. In its opening, there’s something fleeting that reminds me of when, as a child, I had the fortune of opening a new doll. Soon it passes, and the innocent magic of this delicate potion begins. To me, it smells of green almonds, clearly the protagonists, with something sweet around them and the powdery touch of heliotrope. My nose doesn’t perceive the figs as such, but something delicately fruity and syrupy that sweetens the almonds, perhaps the scent of fig milk or sap drops on hot days. In the background, we’re left with a vanilla with the spicy touch of tonka. In summer, the experience is different: it smells of bitter almond at the start, and I don’t feel comfortable. Later it sweetens, but nothing that matches the high temperatures. In winter, it has moderate sillage and 7-8 hours of longevity. In summer, it transforms into something more notable and durable, about 10 hours, though it doesn’t accompany well and results in being a bit suffocating. On my skin, it has no similarity to L by Lolita Lempicka, despite sharing notes. I think it’s ideal for everyday wear in autumn, so it can develop more than with cold temperatures, though also for winter. It’s an evocative and somewhat melancholic fragrance, to accompany a rainy day, not for days we need joy. Scent 8/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7/10 Value/Price 7/10 Versatility 5/10 Packaging 7/10 Would I buy again? Maybe

  • Magical scent. At first, that fleeting opening reminds me of when I was a little girl and lucky enough to open a new doll, feeling pure joy. Then comes the innocent magic of this delicate potion. To me, it smells of green almonds, the star note, with something sweet around it and the powdery touch of heliotrope. I don’t detect the figs as such, but rather something fruity and syrupy that sweetens the almonds, perhaps the scent of ‘fig milk’ or the drops of sap from ripe figs in the heat. In the dry down, vanilla remains with a hint of tonka spice. In summer, it’s a different story: at first, it smells of bitter almond and doesn’t suit me, then it sweetens but nothing matches the heat. In winter, it has moderate sillage and lasts 7-8 hours. In summer, it becomes more noticeable and lasts 10 hours, though olfactorily it feels a bit heavy. It has nothing to do with Lolita Lempicka’s L on my skin, despite sharing notes. It’s ideal for everyday wear on those still warm autumn days, so it can develop more than in the cold, though it also works for winter. It’s evocative and melancholic, perfect for a rainy day, not when we need something cheerful. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value: 7/10, Versatility: 5/10, Packaging: 7/10. Maybe I’ll buy it again.
