  • This Oud 24 Hours is an absolute gem, a powerhouse of black chocolate, fruit, and incredible patchouli. It smells original and resembles Tom Ford’s Black Orchid quite a bit. At first, you note chocolate mixed with tropical fruit and a citrus-balsamic touch, almost minty. Then the spicy floral notes emerge, followed by patchouli, creating a creamy, dense, and complex aroma. The oud is subtle and ethereal from the start, adding dynamism. I bought both the oil and alcohol versions: the oil lasts over 9 hours and smells denser, though it projects less; the alcohol version lasts over 7 hours and projects better. It’s potent for winter or night, but can be overwhelming in heat. I tested it with a Tom Ford fan friend, and at first, she thought it was Black Orchid. Comparing them, this Oud 24 Hours is 80% of the original. It becomes softer after the dry-down, while the TF remains intense. If you want something similar to Black Orchid at a tenth of the price, this is it. Recommended, but better to test before buying blind.

  • Excellent review by darkbeat, as always. It’s like describing a rich menu to a hungry person at 2 PM. I’m testing it right now and I’m loving it. Who said no to it? Long live summer and powerful perfumes.

  • Don Pereyra

Undoubtedly the closest thing to TF Black Orchid, one of the few ‘feminine’ perfumes worn by men. I hesitated at first due to reviews, but I took the plunge and have no regrets. It smells delicious, vibrant, and natural—both feminine and masculine at the same time. It’s potent, projects incredibly well, and its longevity is almost nuclear. It’s cheap, which makes it even more interesting. If you know TF-BO, you’ll wonder if you’re wearing TF.

  • Emorandeira

Very similar to Black Orchid, though a bit simpler and watery. Still, for the price (10 times less), it’s worth it. Perfect for smelling like BO every day without breaking the bank.

Softer than the original Tom Ford. Elegant, floral, and fruity aroma with a touch of black chocolate. It’s not a projection bomb, so don’t expect it to radiate non-stop. Scent longevity is decent, though not eternal. Scent: 8.5, Projection: 6, Longevity: 7.

Smells 80% like Black Orchid, but nobody talks about Zaafaran Midnight Oud. I received it and it smells like an Arab Sheikh. Does anyone else smell this? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  • @wildkatzen regarding Midnight Oud: It’s still not included in the perfume database. I received it a few days ago and it’s brutal. The opening is explosive; the top notes give you a boooommmm. Delicious; out of all the scents similar to Interlude, this is where you can best perceive the citrus in the opening, the bergamot, with that rough, potent, smoky, and delicious saffron. After 10 minutes, it changes and improves even more. What richer incense, please!!!! And it keeps doing magic; at 1.5 to 2 hours, it’s marvelous. I absolutely loved it. It lasts and projects like a beast. It smells like a Sheikh, like power. Spectacular. In my opinion, it’s even better than Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Abyad, with greater longevity. By the way, people say that layering Midnight with this Oud 24 hours is impressive. I haven’t tried it yet; still……..hehe

  • I can’t offer an opinion, but I’m sharing the previous review because I can’t find any mention of MIDNIGHT OUD BY ARD AL ZAAFARAN on this site, which I’ve been testing lately: sublime incense sweetened with talc, a beast in terms of longevity and sillage (a must-have among the BEST MODES). Please let me know where I can report this so they can add it.

  • Keep it simple and brief: don’t buy this to wear with another fragrance. Even though the inspiration is obvious, this beast stands perfectly on its own. It smells like chocolate on a fruity base… but not sweet, more floral. This scent is pure beauty, class, and refinement. Distinction in the air. You enjoy it with every breath. I see it as more masculine than feminine. I haven’t detected the Oud wood yet; we’ll see if it shows up later.

  • I own this gem in my collection; it’s a great way to save a few bucks compared to Tom Ford Black Orchid. Everyone has already said the right things about it, but please update the Ard Al Zaafaran catalog because they don’t even list prices in Dirhams yet. Cheers.

  • I tried both; by notes, Tom Ford has over 20 on Fragrantica while Oud24 has only 12, but I prefer Oud24. It has a savory sweetness, and I used it on hot days (2 sprays) with great results. For the price, it does its job: 3-4 hours in the air and up to 10 hours on the skin.

  • I tried both, even though Fragantica claims TF has over 20 notes while Oud24 only has 12. I personally prefer Oud24 for its sweet, delicious vibe. I wore it on hot days (2 sprays) and it performed well. For the price, it does its job: 3-4 hours in the air and up to 10 hours on the skin.

Wonderful. Sincere, and despite resembling Black Orchid, I like it much more. It starts with a slightly boozy chocolate and citrus notes. After a few minutes, it becomes addictive, blending chocolate and flowers into a harmonious set that I find superior to Tom Ford’s. I admit BO never fully convinced me; I always felt something was off, but here everything fits perfectly. On my skin, it performs amazingly well. It’s true it doesn’t project much, but enough, and it lasted longer than BO on me. The dry-down is delicious. Highly recommended, a delight from every angle. Just smell it.

  • Ard Al Zaafaran 24 Hours Oud: Incredible that Arab houses are stepping up in perfumery. While others lag behind with unjustified prices and reformulations, essences from the Middle East arrive like heroes rescuing quality at fair prices. This fragrance is exquisite; it could be a clone of Black Orchid, but I like it more—I feel it’s better balanced and more harmonious. It’s perfect in every stage, not extravagant or harsh, yet powerful. It becomes luminous, intoxicating, captivating, rich, luxurious, mysterious, and delicious. What luxury fragrance for the price. Undoubtedly the best I’ve smelled recently. A composition of refined opulence with class. I lack words. Scent: 10 + 1, Projection: Moderate, Longevity: about 7 hours. Note: Recommended. Tip: If you can buy two, do it.

  • Incredible how Arab proposals are raising their hands in today’s perfumery. While other brands lag behind with poor scents and performance at unjustified prices, essences from the Middle East arrive as heroes rescuing quality at fair prices. This 24 Hours Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran is an absolute treat; it could be a clone of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, but I prefer it because it feels better balanced and more refined. It’s perfect in every stage: not as extravagant, harsh, or heavy, yet still powerful. It becomes luminous, intoxicating, captivating, rich, luxurious, and mysterious. It’s a luxury you can’t believe for the price; undoubtedly the best I’ve smelled recently. A composition of refined opulence with class. I lack words to express how well it’s executed. Scent: 10/10. Projection: moderate. Longevity: about 7 hours. Note: Recommended. Tip: if you can buy two, do it.

  • Delicious! My girlfriend and I wear it interchangeably sometimes both at once. I lacking much olfactory experience can’t help but associate it with a fungal note like boletus in Issey Miyake’s Fusion Extreme but here it’s wrapped in a balsamic frame that makes it far more captivating and gives it a very ‘Moroccan’ character. The development seems fairly linear to me and the longevity is very notable. Moderate projection.

White floral fragrance with hints of chocolate tangerine incense and sandalwood. I don’t detect any oud despite the name. In the opening jasmine dominates and as it dries down the chocolate comes through. Despite good reviews if you’re a man I’d recommend testing it before buying; for many it smells very feminine. Key difference from Black Orchid: this has less blackcurrant and is less potent. While Black Orchid leans toward violet this one leans more toward orange. They’re 90% similar. Verdict: 10/10 for women. For men only for nighttime or party settings where it truly shines as a 10. Not for everyday wear. Projection and longevity: moderate to high.

  • You can perfectly detect the tangerine and chocolate in the opening. Then those floral tones start to emerge, blending with the chocolatey notes, and on my skin it has a brutal longevity and sillage. It leaves a sweet bubble around you that lasts after eight hours, very pretty. A fragrance for winter and avoid using it in enclosed spaces. It can get overwhelming.

  • This fragrance is a real problem… it’s so, so, so delicious that you want to eat it. And on the other hand, I want to wear it every day. I disagree that it’s feminine. Absolutely not. It’s super unisex. And when I wear it, I feel it’s super masculine, especially since my favorite fragrances are fougères and barbershop-style scents. It’s sweet, chocolatey, with a fruity touch. A work of art. Longevity? On my skin, 10 hours. A beast. Buy blind? Yes. You won’t regret it.

  • IvanPerfumista

@ffaundezm I find this fragrance delicious, but for a woman. When I wear it, I feel it’s too feminine for me… although it’s true that in the dry down it tends to be more unisex. Either way, I don’t think I’d buy it, because as it’s sweet and potent, it’s ideal for night or parties. In that sense, it’s a thousand times better than Versace Eros or JPG Le Male.

  • ffaundezm

The longevity isn’t what I expected; it lasts barely 4-5 hours with moderate projection (and that’s being generous). As for the scent, I divide it into two stages: 1st: Fruity opening > spices > mentholated (pachuli) > chocolate > floral (20 min). 2nd: Floral > pachuli > chocolate > spices > chocolate > woods (linear). I thought the chocolate would be predominant. I agree that this fragrance is more feminine than masculine. The only charm it gave me was that mentholated sensation at 5-10 minutes. I don’t recommend it blindly. The other Ard Al Zaafaran, Midnight Oud, is definitely worth it and lasts phenomenally.

  • I’ll do a brief review of this 24H since it just arrived this morning. The truth is, I really liked it: alcohol at first that evaporates quickly, followed by a ‘chocolate bomb’ in the opening with a citrusy orange touch and a lovely subtle fruity sweetness. The florals are quite present and give the perfume a juicy, feminine vibe.

  • I love it. I don’t smell truffle, which makes Oud 24 Hours probably more acceptable to the general public than BO with its aggressive and ‘weird’ opening: chocolate takes over. I haven’t quite noticed the oud 🤔 I’ll keep testing to see if I detect it in other weather conditions. Projection and longevity are moderate, good value for money. Update: regular longevity. On freshly washed and moisturized skin, 6 hours, and most of the time, maybe 5, as a skin scent. It’s discreet and, unlike BO, could be worn to work.

  • I have four Black Orchid inspirations. The Maison Alhambra (Black Origami) is the worst because it doesn’t last (though the scent is good). Next would be Ard al Zaafaran’s Oud 24 Hours, which smells the same but lasts longer. I have a 50ml version I bought at a ridiculous price (6,000 Chilean pesos, about $6). Second place goes to an Arab brand clone, ‘parfum.AE’ (little known but very good). And first place, without a doubt, is Charriol Royal Gold Intense.

  • I bought the 50ml bottle for $7. It’s a good fragrance with an intense mix of sweetness, florals, and some spice/incense. More acceptable than other ‘orientals’ because at least I don’t detect oud, not even moderately. It’s like a blend of the above: jasmine, an unidentifiable fruity note, and a strong but pleasant chocolate. I feel it’s unisex due to the notes, though I’m not sure if any woman would like to wear it. Lasts 7 hours: the first two with moderate/low sillage, the last two only skin scent. I’ll see if letting it settle changes anything.

  • Excellent inspiration for the wonderful Tom Ford Black Orchid. The similarity is about 90% in both the opening and dry down. On my skin, it works perfectly and feels more masculine than feminine. Intense, deep, and challenging. Worth it from every angle. As always, test before buying.

  • It smells like chamomile to me, and I’m not sure if it’s for men or women; it left me completely indifferent. It has nothing mysterious or gothic about it, unlike Amouage or Initio, which leave a mark. If Black Orchid smells like this, it doesn’t appeal to me at all.
