When I started collecting perfumes, the first vial that caught my eye was Black Orchid, and I didn’t get it at all, haha. It smelled like a weird mix of makeup and truffle. This one smells the same, from the patchouli to the lotus flower and ylang-ylang notes that give it a fresh, creamy touch. Right now, I admit I really like this DNA, but only for very specific occasions, like formal events or dates. Out of all the Spirit of Kings scents, this is my favorite, though it still feels like an homage to a great classic. Worth trying. Rating: 8.5/10

As expected, the quality of this fragrance is top-notch, typical of Spirit of Kings. Each of their perfumes tells a story of castles, temples, princes, kings… stories you can inhale. At first, it’s sharp, with lots of truffle and acidic notes; then it calms down, becoming warm and floral. In the end, it leaves a soft trail of patchouli and vetiver. It’s warm, creamy, and sensual. It doesn’t work for me; it smells like pure masculine aroma. But if you aim it for men, it’s delicious; if a guy walks by wearing this, you’ll want to stick around and smell him. It’s refined, sophisticated, and versatile, BUT I don’t think it’s original; I think it smells similar to others. It’s a scent to hit the mark: discreet, exquisite, correct, for day or night if you want something safe that most people will like. I also notice an elegant powdery touch, a well-crafted wood. It’s a quality perfume for a man’s wardrobe, at least on my skin. I’d buy it for the quality compared to similar ones that smell like alcohol and don’t last. As a gift, it’s a 10.
