Descripción
Nuit D'Issey Noir Argent by Issey Miyake is a woody spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by Dominique Ropion. The top notes unfold with nutmeg, black pepper, grapefruit, and pink pepper; the heart reveals leather, frankincense, and saffron; while the base settles on myrrh, patchouli, labdanum, and vetiver.

Very sharp opening, at least in my opinion. On my skin, the myrrh dominates along with the acidity of the grapefruit. It’s purely winter and nighttime, performs at full capacity and makes you stand out. I don’t recommend it for spring or summer because it can be dizzying. I think I’ll review it again in winter; it’s worth it.
Hello, just applied it at 8:40 PM, two sprays on my left arm, 14 degrees. The opening is soft, nothing like the stings from Givenchy or Issey Nuit. I’m still watching how it evolves and it’s a delicious scent with good performance for spring and autumn. A delight.
It took me over three years to finally get my hands on this white unicorn that never made it to Spain. Issey has raised the bar compared to his classics; it’s the same idea as Fahrenheit but with balsamic notes that make it a masterpiece. Though the potency and longevity drop a bit, I prefer it for being more versatile. The balsamics evolve sincerely into a soft leather and patchouli. I’ll be reluctant to use it up; I want it to last a lifetime.
Just tried it at the perfumerie. Sharp, strong, and voluminous opening where incense is the note that dominates the entire evolution. I think it’s a very interesting proposal from Issey Miyake. I recommend it!

Beautiful fragrance. For me, the best from this house. ♥
Beautiful fragrance. For me, the best of the entire house. ♥
This perfume can be summed up in one word: balsamic. It reminded me quite a bit of this brand’s Intense edition, except here the citrus and fresh notes almost disappear, replaced by resins, leather, and patchouli, without losing that light balsamic character. The longevity and projection are much better and stand out. It’s balsamic, nocturnal as the name suggests, and has a strong presence. I’d give it an 8/10.
A modern, fresh take with a comforting aroma and presence. A sensual and energetic scent perfect for a magnetic, confident, and decisive man who loves the taste of the night, conquest, and the pleasure of good company. Spicy, warm, balsamic, dark, mysterious, and sexy. The dark woods and resins dance with the vetiver. Pepper, incense, saffron, and leather create an unmistakable signature that gives the wearer the power of natural attraction. A fragrance born to express the powerful and mysterious heart of nature that lives at night. Its notes are seductive, deep, and capture the attention of those around you, leaving an enveloping trail that makes anyone who knows how to spark their interest imagine an unforgettable night. A sober yet determined scent, free of excesses but incisive in its essence. Present, without hesitation. It adapts to those who receive it, blending with their scent to create new sensual nuances. Absolutely elegant—an innovative elegance ideal for men looking for a truly respectful olfactory combination.
In one word: balsamic. It reminds me of the Intense edition from the brand, but here almost all the citrus and fresh notes are gone to make way for resins, leather, and patchouli, without losing that light balsamic touch. Longevity and projection are much greater and noteworthy. It’s balsamic, nocturnal, and has a lot of presence. I give it an 8/10.
I’ll update my review over time. Beautiful fragrance, but it’s a shame it doesn’t last long. I got it at a good price, but I’m disappointed it barely lasts more than 6 hours with 10 sprays in the right season. The incense and vanilla are executed incredibly well, but the performance really leaves something to be desired. It starts intense, but I would have loved more projection and a bolder leather note. It breaks my heart that it doesn’t have the punch it deserves. It’ll be my winter-spring signature scent, but I’ll never buy it again. It seems you have to grab fragrances right when they launch before they get destroyed or discounted by those damn reformulations.
I bought a decant. Frankly, it gave me a feeling of… déjà vu. Its resemblance to Nuit d’Issey is very similar. I know it’s a flanker, but I expected more distinct differences that would make this a separate proposition. I don’t find them; they’re very similar. Paying its price doesn’t justify the purchase; if you already have Nuit d’Issey, I suggest skipping it. It smells good, it’s a pleasant, seductive, and nocturnal aroma, just like Nuit d’Issey, only more expensive and harder to find. Personally, I stick with the original. Cheers to the group.
It starts with a more pronounced incense than the regular Nuit, with a blue touch and a ‘rough’ sandalwood type of Ajmal or Laudano Nero, all with medium-low sillage. After less than five minutes, all that disappears and it becomes identical to the Nuit, but skin-scent. It lasts about 8 hours on the skin. It’s linear and I think it should never have existed: after five minutes it’s the same as the Nuit, which has better performance, especially the early batches. If you already have the classic, don’t buy this, because it’s practically the same with mediocre performance. A total disappointment.
It opens with a more pronounced incense than regular Nuit d’Issey, with a blue sensation and a rough sandalwood touch, like Ajmal’s Santal Wood or Laudano Nero, all with a medium-low trail. After less than 5 minutes, everything disappears, leaving it exactly like Nuit d’Issey, but with a trail almost right on the skin. End of story. It lasts about 8 hours on skin. Except for that initial 5-minute burst, it’s a linear fragrance that I think should never have existed. Why? Because after 4 or 5 minutes, it becomes identical to Nuit d’Issey, only this one has much more mediocre performance. If you already own the classic Nuit d’Issey, don’t bother buying this, because you’d practically be buying the same thing with lower performance. A total letdown.
I’ve never been convinced by this brand’s perfumes… I bought this one based on multiple good reviews. I don’t perceive the leather note; it feels very synthetic to me. I bought it blind, and to be honest, it disappointed me. It wasn’t what I expected; it smells quite generic and overwhelming; I can’t stand wearing it. That’s my take. WARNING! Every time I’ve worn it, people have asked what I’m wearing, and I’ve even received compliments, so others like it and it’s not that bad after all.
Read reviews before buying, and I was hooked by Juangse and Jerry Drake’s takes, so I picked it up. It’s just as hard to find as the other best-sellers I hadn’t tried, but it has earned its fame. It’s dense, complex, and aimed at the connoisseurs. It shares the spicy leather DNA of Nuit d’Issey EDT but moves away from the vanilla of the Parfum to go for a balsamic, incense-driven vibe. It’s a resinous incense, not an ecclesiastical one, thanks to the myrrh that adds a resinous character alongside the leather. That myrrh makes the incense spicy rather than smoky, with a backbone wrapped in pepper and nutmeg. Everything is well-blended; after a few minutes, the scent stays unchanged until it finally fades hours later. Performance is beastly: I got it in 2018 without a box and slightly damaged, yet it lasts amazingly. It doesn’t have explosive projection, but the bubble effect lasts forever, just like the longevity I’ve experienced all day on my skin even after showering. On clothes, it soaks in too much and lasts several days if you don’t wash it. Its only flaw is that it’s challenging and singular; it draws from Nuit d’Issey but with more depth. It’s elegant and works well in the cold, but it can be tiring due to its character, so for me, it’s a niche fragrance. Worth having in a collection, but not as a daily signature. The DNA is magnificent and only those who know Issey Miyake will truly get it; shame that its flankers aren’t accessible to everyone.
Issey Miyake is flooding the market with too many flankers, but if they’re as good as this Noir Argent, there’s no problem. Pulse of the Night is also fantastic, just taking a different path. It’s amber and balsamic, starting fresh and spicy before giving way to the dark notes of myrrh, incense, and a soft leather that myrrh mutes from the get-go. Overall, it’s a balsamic and resinous aroma. Its performance stands out: although it seems to lack punch, it’s constantly present, lasts forever on clothes, and on skin it’s well above average. At some point, it reminds me of the discontinued Fahrenheit Absolute, probably due to the myrrh. Following the line of Nuit d’Issey EDT, I believe it’s the best Issey flanker after Noir Ambre, staying under the radar compared to other louder names. A small, versatile jewel that you have to savor drop by drop because, like everything from the Japanese house, it’s out of the market.
