L'Air du Temps Eau de Parfum by Nina Ricci is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1948, the nose behind this creation is Francis Fabron. The top notes feature spices, neroli, peach, bergamot, and Brazilian rosewood; the heart notes include carnation, lily of the valley, iris, ylang-ylang, May rose, and orchid; while the base notes reveal moss, musk, sandalwood, ambergris, cedar, vetiver, and benzoin.

I discovered L’Air du Temps years ago and fell in love: it’s timeless, beautiful, nothing vintage—smelling it feels like traveling. It has that delicate femininity, leaving a trail for hours without being overpowering. It must be the carnation, difficult but unique. Now I have a spare bottle for when I need peace and freedom.

Clavel! I had no idea such a prominent flower could have such a subtle scent when touched. As a girl, I loved carnations and used to think, ‘But they don’t smell like anything?’ With this perfume, I realized they do. As a fragrance, it smells super vintage, but as an aroma, it’s interesting to enjoy, though I wouldn’t wear it myself.
