Francis Fabron

Francis Fabron was a renowned French perfumer who created some of the most iconic fragrances in the perfume industry. From a very young age, Fabron was drawn to the art of perfumery and decided to pursue it as a career. He trained at the Givaudan Perfumery School in Paris and began his career as a junior perfumer at Roure Bertrand Fils. In the 1940s, Fabron gained recognition for his distinctive aldehydic fragrances, characterized by a sparkling, effervescent quality. He created the legendary L'Interdit for Givenchy in 1957, originally made as a personal fragrance for Audrey Hepburn. The fragrance became a success and propelled Fabron to the forefront of the perfume industry. Fabron continued creating iconic fragrances throughout his career, including L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci in 1948, which remains one of the most beloved and long-lasting fragrances of all time. The scent, inspired by the postwar period and the hope for peace, features a blend of floral and spiced notes that has captivated generations of women. In addition to his work with Givenchy and Nina Ricci, Fabron also created fragrances for Balenciaga, Robert Piguet and other prestigious brands. He was known for his delicate, feminine compositions, marked by sophisticated elegance and refined sensibility.
