  This perfume was already a masterpiece in Kemi and remains one in Xerjoff; they are exactly the same in every way. It will never be missing from my wardrobe; it’s addictive. It has a Laotian base with animalic nuances that, to my nose, are attractive and mysterious, nothing unpleasant. The aura is sublime: it’s not for sniffing directly, but for enjoying as a halo, leaving a trail and compliments. The dry-down is magic: caramelized notes soften the rough composition and calm that wild animal that suddenly roars again. For me, it’s a 10/10; I said it with Kemi and now I repeat it with Xerjoff. I love it.

  This Kemi in the Xerjoff K version is incredible. It’s 98% identical to the first version, which was more animalic and had more ‘acidity’ from the algalia, plus better longevity. I tested them side by side on each hand.

  I was looking for an oud with character, nothing like the typical pink-oud that repels me. A guy at the store recommended this; at first, it smelled like a stable, softer than Oud de Burgas. I tested it on skin and wasn’t convinced, but by the time I got home, it smelled like sweet oud with caramel and vanilla. Two weeks later, I bought it and fell in love. Too bad the original Kemi is discontinued; with only 50ml, I’ll run out quickly and have to buy another bottle. It’s bold, sensual, and a delight. I wore it to the office and everyone loved it; I’m testing the dosage so people can smell it without me asking. Totally recommended for oud lovers.

  The dry-down on skin is brutal: starts strong and acidic, but dries into something sweet and sensual. Castoreum and civet accompany that sweetness all the way to the final phase. I love it!
